When we had an incident recently where our dishwasher leaked and buckled the hardwood kitchen floor. Went thru the Insurance company and filed the claim. When asked if I had a contractor in mind I remembered the wonderful job Jeff DeLima did at our home back in 2002. I found the business card and called. Turns out his son Justin has taken over the business. Met with Justin, got the estimate, which we were quite pleased with and hired him to do the work. The crew came in on Monday and pieced in the area damaged, sanded and put coat of sealant on the floor. Tuesday morning, at 8 am sharp, they arrived. The finish work was done and the final coating was applied. They were clean and courteous and we were happy with the end result! I had the pleasure of working with Justin and his father on a six figure flooring project for my home in Piedmont CA. There were issues with the subfloor, as the existing wood floor was uneven and buckling. When they came for the estimate, they gave me a very accurate summary of what needed to be done, and took very detailed measurements of the existing floor. The work was completed on time and to my satisfaction, with no cut corners. After the first day of work, I accidentally left the window open overnight and the sprinklers sprayed in, leaving puddles on the raw oak floors. Jeff and his crew were superb and did an excellent job on my floors. In dealing with multiple contractors during the renovation of my house, Jeff stood out at the top - he was quick to respond to my initial call, came out for an estimate, scheduled my job, and gave me a fair and reasonable quote. He got the job done in the stated amount of time for the stated amount of money. No other contractor I worked with was so reliable! And my wood floors are now GORGEOUS. They seemed totally unsalvageable at first sight. The kitchen floor was actually black. I thought I was going to have to rip them out and get all new floors. Jeff came in, assessed the wood, and assured me he could make my 100 year old floors look good again. He didn't promise miracles, but he said they would look good. He was just being humble. After doing a few repairs, sanding, and 3 coats of polyurethane, they are now totally amazing. And all for less than half the price of new floors. My only qualm, and this is true of a lot of contractors, is that he isn't the most technologically savvy - you'll get a handwritten mailed quote, he wants checks, etc. But this is a small price to pay for a true, RELIABLE, professional. read more

I had a great experience with Accent Design. There were a few things that went wonkey due to Covid19, such as that we couldn't go to a showroom to look at floor samples, which made the selection process hard, but Jeff and Justin and their crew did a great job going over the scope with us, helping us decide how much to do and what type of material to use (We went with luxury Vinyl Plank since it's kid proof) and they got everything done faster than expected! Jeff's team of professional hardwood floor repair men restored 1100 square feet of 30 year old Oak Floors. They were clean (no dust), meticulous, and made my floors look just like new. Every house guess that's been here since they completed the project has really flipped out over the difference between the old and the new floors. They were done in less than four days and only recommended another three days for curing of the several coats of polyethylene covering. The value of my home here in the Oakland hills has now skyrocketed with this upgrade to it's floors. Plus a three square-foot area near a sliding glass door with water damaged wood had to be replaced with new planks. It's so closely matches the original wood that you can't figure out exactly where the new wood is. I highly recommend this company. read more

We recently had all of the carpets removed from our home by Jeff and his team. In addition they installed beautiful oak floors in our home, and refinished the existing oak that we discovered in two of the bedrooms. It was a big job but we are very happy with the results....it truly looks awesome. Jeff even worked around my teaching schedule so I could use my home studio a few times during the process. Even though we added the extra re-finishing project they sped up their work to finish on time so we could move back into the rest of the house. We couldn't be happier with Accent Design Custom Flooring for installing our new hardwood floor. It looks fantastic! Jeff worked with us through the entire process,from design to material selection, removal of the old floor, and the final installation of the new floor.
