Really felt taken care of by the team at S&G Carpet. I had carpets in my new condo replaced, and it has really brightened up my new home! It feels so soft and plush, I now prefer just walking around barefoot because of how comfortable it is. I really want to give a special shout out to Vahn Manuel, one of the flooring consultants, and Elias Dayeh, one of the in home sales consultant. Elias came to my home and was able to create a floor plan, go through the pricing with me, listened to all of my questions and concerns, and gave me a VERY reasonable quote. While I never met Vahn, he made sure I was taken care of! He has been responsive and easy to speak with over the phone and email. He and Elias both helped me get the information I needed to also submit an HOA application quickly to get approved to replace the carpet. After the carpet was placed, I did notice a very small black stain. I almost missed it, but once I knew it's there my eyes were always drawn. I felt bad reaching out to Vahn about this one small stain but he reassured me that it's their responsibility to fix it and will send someone over. So again today I am following up on my one missing box of luxury vinyl tile. Ordered and paid JUNE 3 with expected delivery 7-10 business days and a notification that it would be delivered on the 18th. They are blaming transportation delays. I have called the sales persons 4 times and spoke with Victoria, the "manager" once. She says she'll help but doesn't even respond. Another salesperson states I need to contact customer service but they don't answer the phone or call back either. I am at wits end rn. The floor is mostly laid but missing 1 box. I have a deadline of June 30 which is long passed now. On another note, my last purchase at S&G came in on time but the S&G installation was a fiasco. I swore i'd never go back. I didn't listen myself because this was just an order pick up. Apparently they can't do that either. read more

From start to finish, a really positive experience, the kind I'm not accustomed to anymore. The flooring in my kitchen, dining area, adjacent laundry and half bath were all damaged due to a water leak. Robby of S&G in Dublin was the person to inspect and photograph the damage and provide my insurance with a replacement estimate. I found him immediately personable and informative, the kind of casual professional I find easy to work with. I knew then and there I would have S&G install the new floor. Follow up meetings and the material selection was all pretty routine so I'll skip ahead to installation. The job took three days and was done by Nery and Nelson. The first day was ripping out two layers of old flooring, scraping and clean up. My house is built on a slab and Nery was not happy with the moisture content of the slab so he placed fans to run all the rest of the day and overnight. The next day, Nery felt the moisture was still an issue and was concerned about it compromising the new floor, so they replaced all the baseboards in the portion of the downstairs not receiving new flooring, did the grinding and leveling of the slab and again left fans to run all night (those fans move a lot of air but were quiet enough for me not to hear them upstairs while I slept). By the third day, the slab was properly dried out and the actual installation was done. The finished floor and baseboards all look great, but it's really Nery and Nelson's skill, knowledge, and integrity with regards to doing the job correctly that has prompted me to leave this review. If I have flooring to be done in future, I hope these two are still working for S&G. read more

After checking other stores, I went to S&G. I was there just after opening and there were 3 employees. One was helping a customer at the counter. Another, Asa, greeted me. I told her what I was looking for and she showed me different carpets and pads. There were two different carpets I liked. One is on a big display and there are no samples in-store. She told me she would immediately order samples of the two colors I was considering and they would be mailed to me. Not ideal, because I was on a timeframe and also they had a "we pay the sales tax" sale going on that I didn't want to miss. The second carpet I liked had samples in-store that I could borrow. I brought a diagram with exact measurements of the rooms to be carpeted and I gave it to her. Realizing these were my measurements, not hers, I asked her for just a ballpark figure of the cost I was looking at on each of the two carpets I was interested in. She took my diagram and told me she would try to get to it that day (Saturday); if not, it would be Monday. She said she didn't have time to do it right then because it was the weekend, they had a big sale and they would probably get very busy. Confusing because I was a potential customer, I was there in the store already and she was delaying helping me because other customers might come in. There were three employees and only one other customer there at the time. Before I left she assured me she would 1) immediately call in an order for carpet samples to be mailed to me, 2) Immediately email me information on both carpets I was looking at - including the name and cost of each one per square foot, 3) email me the same information about the different pad upgrades, and 4) "try" to figure out an informal estimate on how much carpet I would need and an approximate cost of the job. I waited 8 days with no word from her. There was no email and no samples arrived. I brought samples of the one carpet back to the store and she greeted me again. Her first words to me were, "You look very familiar. Wasn't I supposed to do something for you?" She asked for my name and as I gave it to her she reached for the diagram I had given her over a week earlier, which was still sitting on some papers on the counter! She asked what samples she was supposed to be ordering for me and if I just didn't want to have her send somebody out to do a measure. I replied no. The last thing I wanted to do was give them a deposit and hope their customer service improved. This place gets one star. Asa listened to what I was looking for, showed me carpets in the color and material I wanted and suggested different pads. She seemed very nice, but "nice" set me back over a week as she didn't follow through with anything she said she would do and the sale I was trying to purchase under expired. read more

First off, lifetime warranty. That's so reassuring to have since anything can happen within the next couple years with the flooring and baseboards. It covers their installation and their material if you purchase it with them. So the project was to replace the current kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and bathroom vanity areas from linoleum to the water resistant vinyl planks. A consultant from S&G came out to the house to take an assessment of it, everything they did was so high tech with their computers and room measuring devices. After they drafted a quote and we agreed to the terms, 50% deposit was made and the other half was charged after the work was completed. We made an appointment two weeks later and their two contractor workers came out to do the work. Since we wanted 4 inch baseboards, the guys transported it to the house with it already primed white. I just had to paint the baseboards white for them to cut up and put in the house the following day. For 330 sq feet, the guys worked non-stop for two days and came back a third morning to finish an issue with the carpet and floorboard transition. We were so pleasantly happy with the work they did. The old smaller baseboards were removed and the larger baseboards were added beautifully. There were some areas where the air vent was cut around and we needed to paint it, but that was no big deal. The flooring really did look lighter than the sample we had just like what the consultant said. They really know their stuff! A few days later, I noticed that the bathtub still had glue from the previous flooring, so an S&G representative came out to remove it and was even so nice enough to bring out contractors to add the remaining baseboard to our stair landing for free. In his words, it was only fair since they didn't finish their job right the first time around and we had the extra material anyways. All in all, S&G was a bit pricey, but the workmanship, customer service, and lifetime warranty makes this place a must-go-to if you're thinking about doing your floors! read more

Love S&G, returning customer. Years ago they did the wood floor in our dining room which still is amazing but it was time to do the entire house. We met Victoria at the showroom, and yes we all had our masks on! Plenty of hand sanitizer available. We looked over all the hard wood flooring and carpets and after hours of my wife looking at samples we decided on our carpet and hardwood flooring. We went with Karastan (top of the line stuff with 25 year pet warranty, lifetime install warranty and I think lifetime on defects (not wear and tear). This stuff was pooped on by an elephant in testing for ONE MONTH and then they steam cleaned it. Best marketing video EVER! Mohawk and Karastan are owned by the same folks (must as they use the same terms for both companies). We placed our deposit and waiting for the scheduling department to call us. They called us within the expected time frame and arrived on time to install the wood flooring which took 3 solid days. We paid to have some furniture moved by them and the did a great job. The carpets were done in one LONG day but those guys kept at it til nearly 7pm. They vacuumed all the carpet after, put back all the furniture and now the house is new again for a solid 25 years I hope of never having to do that again! S&G Pleasanton have always been great to work with, honest and sells great top of the line products. Their own brand products had some of the best warranties in the business (they are made from the same massive companies that private label but do other name brands so you get the backing of those companies and S&G. Claire at the Dublin, CA store was helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and patient as we went over the options with the color samples we'd brought with us. She let us take samples of the candidates so we could assess the colors and textures in our home for the best match. Their technician, Dylan, came by a couple days later to take the measurements and give us a quote and we finally arrived at the price point that was mutually agreeable. Like Claire, Dylan was personable, efficient, courteous and knew the products well. Shortly after we signed, we were contacted by the scheduler. The installers (Jonathan and Alejandro) arrived on time and took great care in making sure furnishings and structures (doors, walls, etc.) were kept clean and unharmed in any way. The job went quicker than expected. We did, as requested, make their jobs easier by removing drawers in dressers, night stands, and other free-standing furnishings so that they can move the furniture when and where they need to during installation. I worked with S&G carpet in 2016 and went to them again to inquiry about hardwood and laminate floors. Everything went well with the in home appointment for the measurements, material selection and estimate. Afterwards I did not hear any more from them. I made a few visits to the store as well as phone calls to the representative, who has worked there for years. They never got back to me. After a few months of waiting I ended up going to another company and I'm so glad I did. S&G carpet, you did me a favor!! I got a better deal and the quality of the material was much better. S&G has a streamlined process to choose flooring/materials and schedule the installation. But beyond that, it was a nightmare process. The 3 day installation for luxury vinyl (aka water proof core) planks ended up taking 4 weeks. The installers showed up 4 hours late on the first day and worked 11 hours on the second day rushing through the work to finish so they would not have to return on the third day. They shorted me 27 feet of baseboards and overestimated the plank flooring by 48 square feet, which I was charged for materials and labor associated with that extra material (eventually I was given credit for this). There were nicked planks installed, mis-cut planks with putty discoloring the floor, a nail hanging out of the baseboard, damaged baseboards, visible glue coming out of the transitions, scratched transitions, poor caulking job throughout baseboards. Just extremely disappointing quality of work throughout. After 2 return visits to fix the previous flaws I mentioned, I found a baseboard with a crack about 4-5" long. A final 3rd fix had to be scheduled. You are better off asking for a referral from a neighbor who has had a good experience with a previous contractor and go with them. The contractors that S&G hires are sub-standard at best. Their poor quality of work and the hassle are not worth the headache and high cost. I regret choosing S&G to handle my flooring project. read more

Disappointed. We ordered flooring from S&G and received confirmation of product arrival. When our contractor arrived, the baseboards were not available, 2/3 stair nosing were missing and 10/35 boxes of flooring contained broken planks. Initially SG blamed the contractor for the broken planks. But upon inspection it was clear that the boxes had weeks/months of wear. Ultimately the boxes were replaced but that took a couple more days to arrive. During this time, while trying to make things right, SG called to ensure the contractors were doing a good job - I don't know why SG is concerned about a 3rd pary contractor (not their contractor). The contractor was doing a fine job, albeit delayed because of SG's logistics. Today, the remaing materials arrived and the stair noses are different from the ones we received last week....argh! When I called I was told this was a manufacturer error; it doesn't matter if it's the manufacturers packaging, I received the wrong product and SG needs to hold their suppliers accountable. We decided to go ahead and use the alternative stair noses as to not delay this job for days again. SG paid for the additional transport trips charged by the contactor to pick up materials which should have been ready on trip one. (A total of three trips had to be made). While I am thankful for that, working with SG has been frustrating at best with a lot of finger pointing at everyone else on why the right materials were broken and not available when and where they said. My recommendation to you, find another flooring supplier. read more

Our experience with S&G Carpet couldn't have been better. Asa Sizemore was my sale consultant, and she was extremely friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Her advice and encouragement to take my time, helped me to pick out the perfect carpet for our home. Johnathan Crawford, who did our home measurements, was a pleasure to work with too. We told him that we had a renovation coming up, and wanted to wait till it was completed before installing the carpet. He said that would not be a problem at all. S&G Carpet installed LVP (luxury vinyl plank) in our home in Walnut Creek back in October. Our house was a rental before and our property manager put us in touch with Hector De La Cruz, who was our primary contact. He was fantastic: professional, responsive, and pleasant to talk to. He gave us a fair price and dropped off samples to try to match the flooring we already have downstairs. Our installers (Nery and someone else, I'm forgetting his name) were punctual, polite, and did a great job on the floors. There were a couple defective pieces on the stair caps that chipped and they promptly returned to replace them. Since then we have had no issues with the flooring, but I'll update this review if any issues arise with the product. I would definitely use them again! read more

They did an amazing job, demolition went smoothly and they leveled the cement slab in our house so the LVP would fit nicely (at no extra cost). Everything was great from start to finish. My only regret is not covering all my kitchen cabinets with protective plastic sheets because I had to wash every single item inside them after all the dust coming from demolishing the tiles but it's not their fault. I was told the rep would show up with a van full of samples. the rep didnt bring the van. She brought 4 sample carpets.... not 4 different styles w several color options, a total of 4 car pet pieces in unappealing colors. Additionally, her measurements of basic square rooms included 20% waste! Really? Over $1000 dollars of waste. I don't think so! Carpet the closets with some of the waste...nope, she measured the closets and added 20% waste to the closets too! Stupid! I'm in Real Estate and order a lot of flooring....I will never waste my time with them again. read more

One of the most important things I notice when visiting a business is their customer service. It can make or break an establishment. At S&G, I went to pick up an order and was not greeted with friendly service. The woman at the counter barely smiled or made any small talk while processing the order. Instead, I entertained myself with pieces of carpet and laminate flooring samples. Once she finished, she directed me to the back to pick up my order. There was a man who had my order ready to load my vehicle, which was great. The only downside was that they didn't assist with helping me tie anything together to ensure that the order was intact and tied to my car. I've never ordered something so large scale, needing to secure it, as it would stick outside of my vehicle. It would seem logical that employees assist or at least offer to help safely secure the products before one leaves. If that's not written in the policy, maybe it should be. That would help improve the customer service here. S&G has variety to choose from, but customer service needs improvement. read more

Extremely efficient and expert customer care throughout the process! Beginning with the home visit, S & G helped to pick out the carpet color, measured the two bedrooms accurately, and assured us that our Tempurpedic bed in one bedroom, and our large wall unit and sofa sleeper in the other bedroom could be expertly moved by the carpet installers. Two years before, we had wanted to purchase carpet for the same bedrooms. We went to that "One" store on SR Valley Blvd. Their guy came out and was rude, and nasty in telling us that we would have to get our own movers to move our furniture, since they did not provide that service. Well, it scared us so much that we waited until now to replace the carpets. The price to move the furniture by S&G was 1/4 the cost of what we expected it to be. Also, we received expert advice as to what we should move, and what we should not tape or move prior to the installation. Shout out to Asa at S&G for helping us choose the color, and in handling the sale. While Covid did delay receipt of the carpet by around two weeks, we were put on the installation schedule within two weeks. Even though we were in Lake Tahoe for the day of the installation, the installers contacted us upon entry at 9 am, and called us back at 3 pm, stating that the installation was done without any problems.
