No need to measure windows or patio sliders, they send out their professionals to accurately assess the precise dimensions as well as hang them up. All we needed to do was to select the style, fabric, colors and they do the rest. We have been pleasantly satisfied with Worley's. If you visit their showroom, there are various vendor manuals to select from. Also, their staff's happy to assist in anyway possible to make your home a showcase. We can't say enough good things about Alicia Arana. She was not pushy and didn't use the typical salesman tactics used by other companies I had received a quote from. She listened to what we wanted, and proposed an amazing solution. She was very straightforward in what we would get, and what to expect during the installation process. I brought in some drapes and asked for a replacement quote. It took the woman (middle-aged with a strong accent ) a few days to get back to me. She quoted me $800 plus for some sheer curtains. I asked about 3 questions and she was extraordinarily rude. I left immediately and wouldn't ever hire someone who treated me like she did. (BTW, I went to Target, bought some curtains for next to nothing.)I will never go to Worley's again. read more

When they originally came out and did the precision measuring everything fit perfect they were on schedule friendly staff very good craftsmanship it saves my home higher utility bills. Very good quality very good craftsmanship the price was right in line with my expectations. About two years later, I installed new windows in my home and had to remove the shutters not the frame... Just the shutters so the window contractor could install the new window and in doing so I had a problem reinstalling the shutter so I called Worley's. They sent out one of their technicians and helped me align it. Had a relatively simple beginner carpentry task for them; cut and nail some baseboard to the wall. I know it is simple because I am very handy but I am juggling many things and do not have the time, otherwise I would do it myself. That's how I know. However what I seemed to get was a bunch of unbelievable reasons why it would be sooooooooo complicated and thus sooooooo much more expensive. We are very pleased with the results. They were incredibly fast and did a great job. Our previously upholstery was worn, stained and when you sat in the chairs you sunk. We had Worley's replace the webbing, padding and upholstery and it came out great. The chairs are beautiful and exceptionally comfortable. Great locally owned business. A few years ago my brother and I paid to have my mom's dining room table and chairs refinished and reupholstered. Trying to find a place in the bay area that was able to do the job in a timely fashion and who could pick up the items was quite difficult. Worely's fit both of these needs and ultimately we were very impressed with the final product. Flash forward a few years later when I moved back to the area and picked up a couple old captain chairs from a local country club's renovation sale, which were in need of some serious TLC. While Worely's hours are not the most convenient - we made it over one day and spent a few hours mulling over fabric designs (they have hundreds, if not thousands, of fabric swatches to look over). Once we decided on a fabric, and dropped off the chairs, we got a call just a week later saying the chairs were complete. While I wasn't able to get back to Worelys for a few weeks to pick them up, they offered to drop them off with my mom (who lives in the East Bay) to save me some time. In short - the chairs look great, we were charged a reasonable rate, and I am glad to be able to support such a great local service. read more

I just had my sectional couch reupholstered and I cannot be more pleased! 5 Stars is not a high enough rating! I started investigating my options in February of 2017 by requesting quotes after starting with Worley's and talking to Sandi. After completing my due diligence last year I decided to go with Worley's and told Sandi via email that when I am ready I will contact her. I reached out to her a few weeks ago and she still had my information in her files. The quote they gave my last year was not far off from what it ended up costing me. The entire process took 3 weeks once I called Sandi and told her I am ready to move forward. The guys were on time picking up and delivering. The couch was originally purchased from Norwalk furniture in 2006 and was custom designed and excellent quality and crasftmanship. It's a ivory color couch and I could never get the fabric as clean as I would have liked so I decided to have it reupholstered in the same color but with micro fiber fabric. The finished product was better than the original and that is an understatement! I want to give a special shout out to Ruben, Juan and the seamstress' that worked on my project. But I also want to say how impressed I was to learn how this business in not only family owned, but also they employ several sets of relatives. When employees are treat well they not only stay, it shows in the quality of their work. Based on the quality of work, Worley's treat their employees very well! Very unprofessional and rude people, in particular the owner and his wife. We got a quote from them to upholster some of our sofa cushions. They agreed to a price and we gave them the cushions and other material. However, when we went to pick up the cushions, they turned back on agreed upon price and wanted us to pay 25% more or they won't give our cushions back. The owner is an old man that seems to have lost it. He was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. He was not shy of even saying bad and discriminating words, like: 'I dont know why YOU PEOPLE pull this kind of scams'. He even tried to snatch the original paper from us that had the price they agreed upon. I will NEVER do any business with these people, even if they are the only shop in town. I rather give my business to people who know how to talk and act professionally and respect others regardless of their color and origin. read more

My husband and I selected Worley's Home Design Center to install our engineered hardwood flooring in our home and are extremely happy with our choice. Shopping for drapery is not at the top of my list. After owning our home for awhile it was time for a few upgrades. Drapes for the two large living room windows was on the improvement list. Worley's has been used by my grandmother. I have seen their work and it is top notch. She was a very picky lady so if it passed her high standards it was good for the rest of us. I called and made an appt. with Ms. Worley herself. It was surprising that an owner answered the phone, that never happens now a days. Carol arrived with an employee prompt on our scheduled day. While they took measurements I browsed the fabric swatches. We went over options and she was going to get back to me on a estimate. A few days later she called with the (damage) estimate. I had to come in to choose the hardware and give the deposit. It only took 10 mins. The lead time was a couple weeks for the drapery to be ordered and sized. It was before the ETA date when an employee called to schedule the installation day. On installation day the 2 man crew arrived on time and ready to work. Install went smoothly about 3 hrs. for take down of the old drapes and install. They even patched up the holes from the previous rods, took the old hardware and drapes. I am happy with the whole experience. Carol was wonderful. She was able to supply nice quality drapes and hardware within my budget. Keep in mind that you are paying for quality and great service. It is worth paying a little more and not have the head aches and poor work from a less expensive company. I will contact Worley's for my other house improvements. read more

This place carries all types of stuff to beautify your home: drapes, shutters, fabrics, flooring, tile. When we remodeled our kitchen we decided to skip the Ikea flooring since it was hideous and came here instead. The folks at Worley and Sons let me take a bunch of huge samples home so we could really check out how it looked. I wiped them out of all the gray laminate tile samples they had, but they were very friendly about it. There is only one flooring person though so expect to wait a while if someone is ahead of you. I am so glad we came here because our floor really ties the room together. read more

I recently installed new carpets in my entire house. Having never done this before, the process was a little daunting. I walked into Worley's Home Design Center and was greeted by Tara, who answered all my "silly" questions with a smile and finesse. She was knowledgeable, pleasant and very helpful. Tara came to my home to measure and finalize her quote. When Javier and Jorge came to install the carpets it was raining quite heavily but they were proactive, cut the entire carpet and stored it in my garage so as not to waste time. They put in almost 1500 square feet of carpet in a day and a half. They were excellent workers and were incredibly helpful in putting back furniture in the right place! I live in Oakland and recently bought a fixer-upper in So Cal. The home had been vacant for 10 years and the curtains were literally falling off. The home is in a country club with strict rules about appearance and so wanted to take care of the curtains ASAP. The curtains were ceiling-to-floor; 10 feet tall by 18 feet wide for one room, and 10 feet by 12 feet for the other room. A lot of material! As a fixer-upper, we had many other issues that required attention, so we didn't have a lot of budget for so much material. This was my first experience working with a design professional, and while it is not all ideal for the person providing the help to be working in the blind since they could not do the measurements in-home themselves, Alicia never made me feel like it was a problem. She was extremely patient with this 'newbie' as I changed my mind about materials, measured wrong, etc. She steered me in the right direction with color-schemes I would not have thought, and helped to find an affordable material. This past weekend, I hauled my two sets of curtains (60+ yards due to required pleating!) south and put them up. PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL! Really, only possible because of Alicia's guidance, great direction, and patience. I also want to call out Sandy, who is always so courteous and professional whenever I have phoned. I have very luxurious silk draperies which give my living/dining room a finished look. The workmanship of the draperies is also topnotch, and the installation is very good. This review is for a 2 custom cushions for a window seat. I worked with Sandi to order the cushion. As this was something I never done before I had several questions on design, layout etc and it was fun talking it all through and even meeting Ruben, the master seamstress. Sandi was very attentive, patient, and engaging with me during the entire process. Seven days later my cushions were ready (they order the material and then sew it on site). I loved the work. Solid craftsmanship. The one thing I didn't think through was the pattern I chose which was striped. Being that I needed to match two cushions up, in hindsight I would have went with a solid fabric. When placed in the location the lines didn't match up exactly and I wasn't sure if it was an error on their part or mine. Sandi was so awesome and showed excellent customer service by scheduling a visit to my home and bringing the seamstress Ruben. He checked everything out, did measurements, and we discovered that my walls are not the same length all the way across. This means that if the cushion shifts it doesn't line up precisely. They were very accommodating and offering ways to try to help make adjustments to the pillows to fit the un-even walls. After adding some throw pillows it looked good enough to me and you really don't notice the minor offset. Also, the striped pattern has worn on me but I may still be ordering an extra cover in case I want a change. I'm now looking into custom curtains for the same area. I love supporting local businesses, especially ones that are awesome! read more

A short version. If you have a problem with your work done there. You will likely get OVER CHARGED. And their estimates are a floating figure. AND Worley's description of what the job will turn out like may NOT be what was agreed upon. AND lots-o-luck getting a resolution to any "customer complaints". Old man "Worley" is just not a nice person. The old man (Worley) thinks his.... well never mind...has no smell. TOTALLY rude. Very abrasive. Tries to pick a fight over everything. VERY hostile person. Customer satisfaction is not in his store's vocabulary. We had a simple recovering job that came in about $200 OVER the agreed upon estimate. The shop MISREPRESEMTED the job that we CLEARLY agreed upon. In writing. I could have fought him in small claims for the $200 rip-off but it was not worth the hassle. AND he had my furniture hostage. I truly hope he has all that he puts out "there" in his business and personal life returned to him many times. The worst part (after the $200 rip-off / furniture hostage negotiation) was Mr. Old Man Worley's totally combative - abrasive personality. I just do not like getting ripped-off. AND WE AGREED UPON THE JOB - THE MATERIAL - THE RESULT TO BE EXPECTED - and when the results did not come out correctly - as his staff represented. Then...the old guy- Mr. Worley - the Grand Po Ba himself - intervened. And then we got really screwed. Bummer. He would not make the situation correct without an EXTRA $200 extra out of my wallet. I paid for the additional material that he used... although I should not have had to... as he was the one who made the error... AND he charged EXTRA for the labor that HE screwed up on. I am so happy right now! We have had an ottoman for 9 years that we absolutely love the size of and it has a drawer-storage is key for us! It was made of that cheap bonded leather (I did not know about this when we bought it even though it said genuine leather on the tag) and it started peeling really bad about 2 years ago. I really did not want to get rid of it just to buy another piece that was made with junky material and the bones were good and like I said we love the size and the storage, so why not upcycle it by reupholstering it. I finally bit the bullet and brought it to Worley's to be reupholstered and I could not be happier with how it turned out, it looks better than when we first bought it. To top it off their customer service is good (which is something I value high in my book), it was ready super fast and I did not feel that the price was too bad either given that this is a piece we want to have for a very long time. We purchased four costly window coverings from Worleys several years ago. In June 2012 we were replacing the windows in our home. Rather than take a chance damaging the window coverings we had Worley's return to take the window coverings down and store them in our garage until the window installation was complete and they could be reinstalled. They estimated the charges between about $600 and $700 for this work. Seemed really high, but we didn't know how much time would be involved. They took the window coverings down which took about 45 minutes for an installer and female to accomplish. After the windows were installed and the walls repainted we had them return to reinstall the window coverings. This time and installer and a male assistant spent about 2 hours completing the work. The total bill almost $700, or nearly $233 per hour. When we asked about their rates they just became obnoxious, and when we asked why it was the higher end of the estimate we were told because the installer put one set of brackets up, found they need to be repositioned with spacers and that was like a new installation. Needless to say, we won't be using them for anything in the future. If you contemplate using their services, beware of their prices and their attitude toward customers. read more

We just finished installing new carpet and hardwood flooring with Worley's. Working with Tara as our design consultant, we were able to pick-out colors and finishes that complemented our existing paint and furniture. The installation required moving every piece of furniture that was not in a bathroom or kitchen. The entire crew we delt with was great. From movers/tear-out crew to carpet installers, hardwood floor guys, painter (new baseboards) and finally the movers again was fantastic. We did get a second bid from another reputable Bay Area firm and Worley's was better in both price and scope. I went in today to buy a remnant to put under my kitchen sink and my bathhroom sink. They had 2 small pieces that would fit almost exactly. The woman working went to ask someone how much they were. She came back and said $20. There were rolls of sheet vinyl remnants for $40. And they wanted $20 for 2 small pieces. I said we will just take 1 and figured $10. The woman said let me ask if he will take $10 for both. And then she said how about $15. I said that seemed like alot for 2 scraps that probably should have been thrown away. She shook her head and said there are alot of people that would want them. I just walked out. This lady should not be working with the public. Very rude!! read more
