We worked with Carlos at the Dublin location for our new floors. We had awful carpet, but these guys came in and did a fantastic job. Carlos was easy to work with and guided us every step of the way. Communication was clear throughout the entire process, and there were no surprises. The best part of the experience was the install and the install team. Manny and his crew absolutely crushed it. We had an issue with an unlevel floor, and they took the time to add self-leveling compound to fix the problem the right way. I'm sharing this to highlight a highly disorganized and frustrating experience with The Floor Store. I originally hired them for a bathroom tile project that dragged on for over four months due to sloppy planning, multiple no shows, and a complete lack of proactive communication. February: I visited the store and chose my bathroom tile. March: After a month of silence regarding scheduling, I followed up with my contact, Teza. Only then did he notice that some of the tile shapes required a special order, pushing the timeline out to May. May: The entire month passed with no updates or communication from Teza. June: I followed up again. Teza stated the tile had finally arrived, but a contractor now needed to evaluate the space. The first contractor scheduled was a no show. A second contractor eventually arrived, but weeks passed afterward with zero communication about when installation would actually happen. Early July: I followed up with Teza yet again. He informed me the contractor needed to order more tile, which had supposedly just arrived. He then scheduled my installation for the following Monday at 10:00 AM. The following Monday: I stayed home from work to be there, and no one showed up. When I called the installation department, they informed me they did not have any appointment for me on their calendar. At this point, I asked for the job to be cancelled and requested a full refund. To their credit, they were able to accommodate the refund without issue. However, after four months of being jerked around and having to initiate every single point of contact to keep the project moving, I cannot recommend this business. There was simply no initiative taken and zero respect for my time. read more

Prior to moving into my new condo, I purchased and had installed NFA LASTING LUXURY PRO PRO PLUS INTEG 7" Westport Maple from The Floor Store. I'm extremely pleased with my new flooring. It looks beautiful and it's very durable. My sales person, Carlos, was friendly and helpful. Post installation, I was confused and unhappy by how much flooring was left over. I must say that, for someone like me, who's never done a flooring project before, it's not easy to understand how much extra flooring is required (due to how flooring is installed). It was only in going through this process that I became more knowledgeable. I now would know to expect more of an overage than I originally assumed. However, in this case, I still felt that the extra flooring was excessive. I spoke to Carlos about this. We were able to come to an agreement about my returning some of the extra. Teza at The Floor Store in Dublin was very responsive and helpful. He showed us multiple options based on what quality and features we were looking for (gold tone-hardwood look- scratch resistant-durable). We were able to quickly narrow down to the floor we felt was most aesthetically pleasing, appropriate to our space, and within our budget, with his guidance. It was evident, he knows his craft well, and was able to articulate what would be the pros and cons of all the product lines we were looking at for our situation. He was also able to help facilitate coordination of a special need we had: 1) glue down of flooring in our master bedroom, for our built in wall unit that would follow 2) Add on servicing of some floor leveling needed The process was seamless from start to finish-make deposit to hold materials and sign estimate contract at our visit to the store. Next, a floor tech came to take detailed measurements at our home, for finalizing the quote, and planning the amount of supplies needed. Teza sent us the finalized contract via docusign, which made it convenient.. Any adjustments needed (only one) and a new contract was sent to be amended-so it was very easy and he was always gracious to answer our questions. The Floor Store scheduling center representative and Teza worked out a schedule to do the floor installation based upon our timeline needs. We were excited and looked forward to it. The floor installation technicians showed up on time and were punctual! They even helped us shuffle some furniture and larger items from one room to the other, throughout the process as needed. We were struck by how they worked so diligently, and we're sensitive to making it a smooth process for us since we still were occupying the space. Each of the four days they were there, they cleaned up after themselves and were helpful. At one point, during the project, Teza and The Floor Store checked in with us to ensure our approval when additional charges would need to be applied (we knew this might happen- was fully disclosed in contract so there were no surprises). and he promptly sent an amendment invoice via DocuSign. Having floors done while living in your home is definitely not for the faint of heart, as it can be noisy but they made it so easy. The floors came out beautiful! I wanted to get more carpet in my house replaced as I didn't do every room for various reasons. We went in during their 4th of July sale. Worked with Meli. She helped us find the same carpet even though the name of the carpet manufacturer changed the name. We decided to do carpet and LVP in one of adjoining bathroom. The installers came as scheduled, we're careful with our newly remodeled staircase and did a fantastic job. The carpet installers came two days later and also did a great job. I had the baseboards replaced. One thing that I had missed was that the baseboards are only prime red and not painted. Therefore I had to paint them against our new carpet. It was time to replace the worn carpet in our two bedrooms. So, I visited The Floor Store in Dublin, CA. Carlos A. greeted me as I entered the store asked how he could help. After hearing my aims, Carlos introduced me to luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring. Carlos patiently answered my questions about LVP and other flooring. He also offered some pros and cons for replacing only the bedroom flooring. Carlos was extremely helpful and offered to provide two quotes - one for replacing flooring in the carpeted bedrooms, and the other for replacing flooring for our entire home. After taking home several samples, my husband and I decided to replace all the flooring in our home with LVP. Carlos scheduled installation to begin about one week following our purchase. The installation team (Jesus and Manuel) was highly professional, efficient, and communicative. They called to let me know when they were on their way to my home and upon arrival they explained their plan for the day. They spent the first two days removing the old carpet and laminate flooring with great focus and efficiency. Over the following two days, Jesus and Manuel did an excellent job completing the installation of the new LVP, showing exceptional workmanship and attention to detail. The quality of the product and the final installation, were very good. The pricing and communication were awful. Throughout the process, we kept getting surprises and price increases from Teza. In one case, he sent us a revision that was 1500 dollars more than what we had just agreed to over the phone. We had a minor glitch in the intall, with a small part needing to be replaced. Despite a number of phone calls and emails, it has not been done. Honestly not sure if we would use their services again. read more

They reused our baseboards, which was good as advised they do not paint which is fair they lay floors they're not painters so we were fine with that. They kept everything nice and clean afterwards. This is a long due review of the Floor store and the sales associate Michael Watts who helped us all along the way with introducing us to the multiple options and answering our questions related to the product. Michael was not overselling or adding any pressure to us to make decision during the whole experience. We probably went to the store at least 6-8 times over a month period to make our decision. Through all those visits and all the options we looked at Michael was very patient with us and answered with the same enthusiasm as the first time. We also visited another 1/2 dozen stores in Bay Area and looked at other options and pricing possibilities. We started looking at grey shade first and then decided to go with more timeless color. We realized our initial budget of $2.50/ sqft is not going to give us a quality material for longer life period and bumped our budget and decided it was worth investing $ into a good product. With this we settled with Coretec Corretta Oak HD LVP flooring 9" width with 20 Mil layer and we are happy about it. Michael didn't try to sell us the padding to make extra $ instead he recommended installation based on Coretec manufacture manual resulting in no pad. The Coretta Oak was in stock and since they had the product procured in bulk they were able to give a discount and the delivery to local warehouse was prompt as communicated. My contractor hurt his back and couldn't pick up the materials for 3 weeks but they held on it with no additional charge as soon as I communicated the reason for delay. This is my 2nd time doing business with the The Floor Store and went well. Advice: to get a good price do your homework and discuss with the staff in the store they will be reasonable in negotiations. read more

Our floors are truly gorgeous. They turned out amazing and the install team was 10/10 from every aspect. Teza managed the project from start to finish. I appreciated that he indulged my skepticism as I dissected each aspect of our project quote line by line. We had a few iterations of updating things before finalizing our workplan where some things were miscalculated or where I needed more detail to get on board with the numbers but ultimately we came to alignment. While the project was underway there were a few things that came up, variances from our workplan and again, appreciate Teza being fair as we worked through and came to an alignment. Overall Teza gave good advice on materials, quantity, and giving the context and walk through I needed. He knows his stuff and he knows how to run a smooth project. The team he brought to execute were fantastic, and I feel they were true experts, even artists at their craft. I am happy I was able to dive into each detail because it made me feel better about every cent spent because flooring is never a small investment and we felt good knowing we were saving a lot of time and headache by having Teza bring all the pieces of the puzzle together. Also appreciate the guarantee on the labor and having a point person to circle back with in case something comes up. I have a broken stair nose that I need to replace. I have the piece I need to replace, but do not know the brand of flooring, as it was installed prior to me purchasing the house just one year ago. I came in with the piece on a very quiet Thursday afternoon to find the "best match" for the piece I am trying to replace. I was greeted by a saleswoman who immediately said "you're wasting your time. I don't even want to sell a piece to you because it costs $75 and will not work. There are no replacements or refunds." I was shocked she wasn't even willing to help me look at all. I replied, "I'm willing to gamble $75 to find the piece I need." She was still unwilling to help me. She suggested we replace the ENTIRE HOUSE FLOORING because of one bad stair nose. Give me a break. Clearly this woman works on commission and didn't want to waste her time for a $75 sale.
