I feel like I might be the most credible evaluator to give this company a review because I've been working with them for over 20 years. My experience of Msrc and Mike and Access Options has been nothing short of incredible. They bend over backwards to help you get on the road and stay there. They are knowledgeable of accessibility needs and demonstrate seasoned knowledge regarding driving systems and vans and lifts etc. I'm shocked to read negative reviews and know that sometimes the disabled community can be unrealistic about people meeting their needs and wants. I've been spinal cord injured for over 40 years and have been around many accessible companies for different things. Access options is exceptional. Independently owned and best service on the Central Coast! Marc is fantastic and straight to the point, answers the phone with a smile and a laugh. And he always remembers me! I got hit by a drunk driver (again) and had to take my car in for replacement of the hand controls. Marc walked me through the insurance process. Calmly explains things - and cuz I'm so frazzle about this stuff - re-explains it without getting irritated. The work is top notch using the latest mobility equipment. Mike has over 20+ years experience; they use the latest and greatest hand controls. Idk what the other reviewers are talking about. The so called Owner (mark) is horrendous. Do not take your handicap assessable van /auto there. Owner was trying to rip off my parents by telling them that they're 2005 van that only has 50,000 miles is a piece of junk and that they needed to buy new vehicle FROM HIM .. but that he would buy their van for $2000 ... (after charging $1000 for caulking, the gas tank and an inspection) What a crook. The van needs an air floater, which I informed him he needed to order from the Braun ability company .. comes to find out he never replaced it, and he stated that he was not going to fix anything on that van because it was junk and old (seems like he was talking about himself ) so I took it upon myself to contact the Braun Ability company and informed them about the service and how horrible he is as one oftheir representatives Braun Ability company contacted him and because of that Mark then had the audacity to call my parents to find out what was going on and why I complained about him ... My van had a broken door so I had to manually open and close it for my husband to use his wheelchair. Called access options for an appointment to get van serviced. Took three months to get it fixed only because I kept following up. Owner said delay was due to supply chain issues being the cause. Prior to that statement, in an earlier phone call he said he already had the part before the VA approved it, saying he put the cart before the horse. He said he submitted paperwork to VA and a month later, after we called to find out what was going on, he said he would resubmit, that something happened to first submittal. He did the process wrong. Then after finally working on the door it only worked for two trips and now has to be manually opened and closed again. Plus now we have a new problem because the micro switch or electric eye that sees if door is properly closed malfunctioned. Soooo, we get stuck in park and can't move van out of park until we reopen door and close it a few times. It's just a mess. read more

if I could give less than one star I would. On two separate occasions, I was deliberately taken advantage of and my degree of trust with them is now zero. On one occasion, I had just bought a brand-new Audi Q7 and brought it to them to have hand controls installed. The car had 52 miles on it when I dropped it off. I was told I could pick it up Friday morning and then received a call the night before informing me that the car wouldn't be ready until Monday. It wasn't until my drive home that Monday that I realized that they had put 500 miles on my brand-new car over the weekend. Another occasion I brought my Bruno Turny seat in for repair. I was told it would take an hour to replace a motor that had gone bad. After waiting for 4 hours with no communication on status, I was told it couldn't be fixed and that I needed to replace it with a new seat that would cost $11,000. I was then handed a bill for $400 for labor on the attempted repair. I then drove my truck home, looked at it myself and found a simple short in the wiring of the controller. It took me less than an hour to fix myself and required absolutely no replacement parts. What was required was about 30 minutes of labor, but they hit me with a bill for $400 and tried to scare me into buying an $11,000 product I didn't need. As a remodeling contractor who does Aging in Place remodeling we have worked with Access Options over the years. So there was no question who we would call when we had our own family health emergency: Thanks to Thom White and the Access Options installers for helping us to be able to get our 82 year old aunt back home after suffering a broken hip and surgery 4 weeks ago! She lives in an upstairs-living condo and for her to climb up 13 steps was not going to be doable. Thom arranged for us to get the proper chair lift installed the day before she was released from the hospital so the homecoming was very happy. We feel secure in knowing that she can get up and down in her home safely. The crew was fast, knowledgeable, courteous, and they left the condo perfectly clean! Not what it used to be. Once upon a time there was a cool lady named Mercedes who knew how to deal with customers but now they lack professionalism. Rude and bigoted. I personally witnessed 3 men working there while I waited for my van making fun of customers completely for no reason except tired immaturity. You're old dudes...it's time to grow up. read more

I took my van with full hand control conversions to Access Options because they were local and I wanted to keep my money in the community. What a mistake. What happened next was a nightmare of upselling and bad business practices which lasted for the better part of a year. Barely competent - I've known many EMC / AEVIT repair people, and these guys are not even close to top notch. They were so incompetent at repairing my system that I thought they were joking. At first. Frustrating to work with - They have a "don't tell the customer anything" philosophy, which coupled with their slow work and aforementioned incompetence is downright infuriating. Each employee has a different story of what your repair status is. On multiple occasions they confused other customers' vehicles with mine. Slow - What should have taken 3 months maximum took 8 months. Lame, perplexing excuses were given. Constant raising of prices - Make sure to get your quote in writing, and ask them to thoroughly explain when they raise prices on you. My quoted price increased tenfold over the months, and I wish I had hired a community advocate. Shenanigans - As time went on and the price crept up, I would get strange notifications from EMC and UPS about increasingly expensive broken insured parts being returned on multiple occasions. Access Options would never explain these when I asked. I got the feeling they were using my van for some other scheme. Inability to stand by their work - When I finally got my van back from them, many systems were disabled or changed. "We didn't change anything!" they kept saying, but I had to learn how to use the new controls. For months after the repair, I asked them to fix things they had disabled like the air-conditioning and cruise control, but they refused. The owner uses conversations with customers as anger management - Speaking with the owner is an exercise in being yelled at almost nonsensically. He will simultaneously broadly exaggerate and then nitpick everything you say. This is done in an angry, interrupting shout. Not a way to do business. I am essentially married to my van, so I take its care very seriously. I would never let these jokers touch my van again. Everyone else I've talked to with a converted vehicle recommends taking it to San Jose. 1 star for the woman at the front desk who seems to genuinely want to help. read more

I have taken my Chevy Uplander to both the Watsonville and Fremont locations for repairs and so I tried to purchase a 2017 Toyota Sienna from Access Options in Fremont as well. Unfortunately they did not offer a VMI conversion nor did they call back so I ended up buying a van from Mobility Works in Santa Clara (which is another sad story). After owning the car for 60 days the rubber flooring started to go out. At 90 days I made an appt with Mobility Works and they insisted on waiting to fix the problem which I was against since I'm under warranty. So I contacted VMI in Phoenix and they told me to go to Access Options in Watsonville for help. Sadly I was given to a very rude gentleman who informed me that since I didn't buy my car from them he wasn't going to help me and I needed to go back to Mobility Works. Been trying to get a warranty service done on a brand new van which has warranty. I guess they won't service a van that wasn't bought from them but they are Braunability authorized dealer for service. I was even told that my car warranty wasn't registered so I contacted Braunability as I spoke to them by chat online and they told me it was. I also have the chat transcript.
