This dealership's service center is awful. Every experience with them is terrible. We had scheduled via the phone a smog check, came on time, waited almost one hour only for the representative to come say that he doesn't know where the tech is and he is not answering his calls. He provided conflicting information saying that it was first a scheduling issue on their end and then maybe an emergency. He said there is no point for us to stay and wait further. He suggested that if we are in a hurry, we should go to a different business and that we don't have to work with Kia. I took time off from work and this was a huge inconvenience. I don't have the luxury time to ask for time off to run such errands. Their management is useless when it comes to solving and addressing issues, as we have dealt with them in the past to no avail. I just bought a new car from My Kia. I've now bought 4 cars from them over the years. When I go to buy a new car, it's the only car dealership I've even gone to buy a new car. I like cars made in Asia and think they make the best cars for your buck. I've never to have a major repair done on any of the cars I've owned made in Asia. And I've owned 8 of them. My salesman, Mike, was cool. He never once pressured me to buy a car. if he had said, 'What do I have to do to get you into this car today?" I would have walked out. But he didn't. I've never been in sales, but I do know about that "Always closing" selling technique. I stopped by about 4 times to ask questions about the car when I went to Home Depot or Kohl's on an errand. I first saw the K-5 about 4 years ago and thought it was the best-looking car of the similar cars made by other car makers, but I wasn't looking to buy a new car then. So, when I decided it was time to buy a new car, the K-5 was my first choice. I'm well aware they sell cars across the street. I went home and figured out what I would be willing to pay for the car. I went back; test drove the car and made my offer. Mike took my offer to somebody, I've never figured out who they are, and within 15 minutes, they accepted my offer. I was satisfied with the deal and assume they were too. Then it was on to all the extended warranty stuff. Tino was cool too. He knew I was interested in that and didn't push me. He just did his job. If I didn't think this was going to be a good dependable car, I wouldn't be buying it. At 77 years old, this is may be the last car I buy. Even with the Kia warranty that ended up being worthless. What was somewhat problematic was the inability for the service department to obtain needed parts. I also ask myself after my experience with my Kia Optima why I seldom see older model Kia vehicles on the road. I believe it is because these vehicles just don't seem to last. I love my car. I'm not giving Kia company a 1 star. The Parts department at the Salinas, CA branch is terrible. Ordered a simple back windshield wiper, didn't get a follow up two weeks later although the pick up date was for a week later, I called in and no one seems to find me in their system. With my receipt in hand. After 3 transfers, 2 hung up phone calls, and being automatically sent to voicemail 2 times- i had to dispute the transaction with my bank. Thank god it was for a small purchase. And thankfully i decided to pay with card that day- I would have been out $36 if i would have paid cash like i normally do. *side note: I have warranty so for the last 3.5 years have exclusively done my oil change and rotations at this location and those guys are great. I've been dealing with Kia Corporation for 3 months on an engine that should of been replaced as per documents in May 2023. I've complete all necessary tested....FAILED oil consumption test 3x's. Now since the excessive use of motor oil, I need to constantly checking my oil and need to replace the Cadillac converter...Hense oil burning clogged it. Kia is not taking responsibility of a replacement engine due to "OUT OF WARRANTY "even though Kia is clearly aware of the engine.... I will not be purchasing another Kia...all I had us bad luck.... No accountability, lack of transparency and ZERO hustle in the department which explains the long wait time for techs to service vehicles. Basic service at 3+hours wait time with an appointment. Beware, when they advertise and constantly tell customers they do not charge a "market adjustment" as other dealers do, this is a misleading statement, and customers should be aware. Instead, they charge $2,995 for a pre-installed "security package." The vehicle already comes with a complete slew of security devices, and the actual cost of this item is a few hundred dollars if even that! Go somewhere that is transparent and honest about their pricing, especially since they are so far away! There are MANY more honest dealers to stop at on your way to this one, I would recommend stopping at one of those instead! If they are not transparent about their pricing, what else are they hiding? Worst car buying experience you could imagine. If you are a local resident and/or military DO NOT buy from here. Unprofessional and scummy selling tactics. I had come in several times looking for a Kia Forte. I was upfront about the price I wanted and told them I don't want to waste their time. If they can't make my price then we can talk and if I'm wasting their time I would apologize and leave. We finally agreed on the price and came in to buy the car. They offered me a great price and were very professional up to this point. But right before they ran my credit I asked to have the price in writing with taxes and everything. Sales associate left for 30 minutes and came back with a different price then what we agreed on. They marked me up an extra $1,000 (an extra $1k before taxes and all other fees)! I asked if there was some confusion or mix up but they said this the NEW price and it went up in the last 30 minutes. A total bait and switch right before buying! I talked with them and they were adamant about the price. I even offered to meet me in the middle but they still wouldn't budge. I told them I can't do that price and I apologized and left. As I am leaving THE MANAGER said "Bye Felicia" sheepishly from behind his desk ('Bye Felicia' is a millennial term to call someone a loser or stupid after they leave). Very unprofessional and rude from someone who's running a company. I understand if they don't want to sell me a car at my price but don't waste my time and their time by bait and switching me. I came here rather than Gilroy because I couldn't handle the rudeness. The rudeness is much less but I felt a little less than welcomed by staff. Probably because of covid paranoia. Folks should know that the waiting area is now outside, there is no shade save for a few chairs under the overhang and the cashier doesn't clean the pen your signing with. Service writer was good and the parts guy was amicable. I wish there prices were more competitive so I could purchase parts and have them do the repairs. As it is I end up doing most everything myself and save a ton. Thanks highschool auto shop program. It's clean it's outside it's cold on a cold day but what ya gonna do?! Customer service is bad, they did a buy back of a car last year and never filed the papers correct. I'm getting dmv renewal and suspension notices from dmv. I called the dealership and they just kept putting me on hold. When the manager finally got on the phone he told me I'll continue to get them until they sell the car which is untrue. It states clearly on the DMV notice that if you don't own the vehicle provide proof of transfer. They bought the car last year. So now I have to make a trip to file the paper of the transfer and waste time at DMV. Don't shop here read more

If only it were possible to give 0 stars! This is the shadiest dealership in town. Years ago, we bought our first new car from them. The car had several scratches from sitting in the lot but was still brand new. The dealer promised they would fix the scratches, but we didn't have time to do it that day. We lived in Santa Rosa then (our family was here), we came down every several months. It took two or three trips and over a year to finally get the touch up done. They tried telling us that they'd never made any such promises. When they finally did do the job, they left a jar of paint on the trunk of the car and it left a ring that was worse than the scratches they "repaired", which BTW, looked like a fourth grader painted with water colors. Jump ahead 16 years. My daughter is driving an old 1996 Nissan Sentra that needed a new starter. I knew it needed a new starter, and they still charged us $115 to tell us what we already knew (and no, this is not applied to the cost of repairs). They are charging $150 for a starter that can be bought refurbished for $50. And lastly, with labor the entire job is going to be around $700!!!! This is a job that your average knuckle dragging high school dropout could do in about an hour. The car is only worth About $500 as it is! WTF??? BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE AND DEFINITELY DO NOT TAKE ONE HERE TO BE FIXED! They like to take advantage of unsuspecting people who know nothing about cars. This is where I bought my car three years ago. The car was brand new when I purchased it, so far I have not had any problems with it. I have been bringing my car here for service since I bought it. I bring it here mostly because I don't really want anyone else to work on my car other than dealership people. The price for the oil change is very reasonable, $40. You get a car wash with it, and sometimes you get $10 discounts in the mail. The costumer service can vary depending who is working. Sometimes they're not that attentive; that's where they loose points. I do like the fact that they have the shuttle service at no charge; it is very convenient when you're on the go. They drop you off and pick you up if you need a ride.They usually take 15-20 minutes to get there, so make sure that you plan ahead in case they have multiple people to drop off before you. They also have a waiting area, but I never stay to wait because they usually take about two hours to get to your car. I have seen they provide complimentary coffee and popcorn; nothing to brag about. read more
