I called the clinic office three times yesterday from 9:30 to 4:00pm but no one ever answered the calls even they stated the business hours is 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. I left a message with my info to hope they will call me back. NO! Never call back. I called again today, still no one picks up the phone. How you gonna run your business if you don't even answer customers calls ? I am gonna cancel the appointment and go to other clinics. They only want your $$$. Updated, I called again today still no one picks up the phone. I called at least 5,6 time since Monday. I feel like they just gave you a one night stand service. I was hesitant about writing a review this early, but I feel my experience so far needs to be shared. I will also come back and update this review once my treatment is completed. On September 2nd, I suddenly experienced excruciating pain in my right lower back--pain unlike anything I had ever felt before. Since then, I have been to urgent care once and the ER three times. On September 5th, I had a CT scan at Kaiser Riverside ER, which showed a 5.3 mm right kidney stone that had moved from inside my kidney toward the area just outside the kidney. Since then, I have experienced severe pain and discomfort on and off. Honestly, I would describe the pain as worse than labor pain. I finally got an appointment with Access Urology in Riverside. Unfortunately, my first impression was not a good one. The office appeared to be very new, and the receptionists seemed unsure about some of the procedures. I provided a urine sample, and then a receptionist performed what appeared to be a brief ultrasound exam while I was standing, which made me uncomfortable. When the provider came in, I honestly wasn't sure of her name or exactly what her role was. More importantly, I didn't feel heard, understood, or cared for. I explained that I had been dealing with this for 14 days, including multiple urgent care and ER visits and significant ongoing pain. I was told that my situation was not considered an emergency. The provider said she would order a STAT CT scan and prescribe more Flomax, even though I had already explained that I had a 30-day supply. I later discovered that an antibiotic had also been sent to my pharmacy. I was told to schedule a follow-up appointment in TWO weeks. The receptionist told me the referral for the CT would be entered and that I should call the next day to schedule it. That's exactly what I did. I called RadNet myself and advocated for my care, and thankfully, I was able to get a CT appointment that same day. However, when I contacted my insurance to expedite the authorization, I was told that the urology office had submitted the CT as ROUTINE rather than STAT. I was told authorization could take 5-7 business days. I called the urology office again and asked them to resubmit the referral as STAT. Thankfully, it was approved in time for my 6:30 PM appointment, and I was able to get the CT scan done. Now I am praying that the provider will make the right decision regarding my care. It may not be considered an emergency from her perspective, but after 15 days of dealing with unbearable pain and discomfort, it certainly feels like an emergency to me. At this point, I am not happy with the patient care or the lack of urgency I have experienced. I truly hope things improve from here, and I will update this review once I know what happens with my treatment. P.S. The CT scan technician told me the radiologist would read the results tonight and that the results would be sent to my referring provider tomorrow morning. So now, I'm waiting to see what the findings are and what the next steps will be. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm praying for answers, relief, and the right treatment moving forward. read more

More than a month ago I had my first appointment with Access Urology after being referred to Dr. Song by my wife. When I arrived for my appointment I was very surprised that I did not see Dr. Song as that is who my appointment was with but with the Nurse Practitioner. There was no issue with seeing the NP however I was expecting Dr. Song as that is who I requested. I did not get any examination but was told to go get blood work and an ultrasound. So, I did do this thinking that when I came back for my follow-up I would then see Dr. Song. Several weeks have passed and I go back in for my results. A second co-pay later and no Dr. Song but the NP again and this visit was just for results and now a referral to a general surgeon as the ultrasound came back with something that they said was most likely causing my issue. The place they referred took a month just to get in and see that Dr. Now a third co-pay later I see the general surgeon today and he did an examination on the issue the ultrasound found but he told me that his professional opinion is that the issue I went to Access Urology is not related to this issue. He told me to go back and see Dr. Song again for an examination as I told him they never gave me an examination the two times I went there. Needless to say is that I will most likely not be going back to Access Urology as this would be my fourth co-pay for something that should have been addressed on the first if not the second visit. I should not have to keep paying co-pays and taking time off work for something that was not done on my previous two visits. I am going to leave them 3 stars since they did discover an issue by sending me to Casa Colina for the ultrasound that I was unaware of (non-related to my visit here). Since that issue is currently asymptomatic according to the general surgeon I am going to hold off on anything related to that and keep an eye on it for now. My suggestion to anyone wanting to go to Access Urology is if you are expecting to get an examination or to see a particular person is to set that expectation over the phone when making the appointment that way you are not feeling disappointed when you leave. For me I hope that my issue that I came in for that was not addressed does not get worse over time. read more

Still feeling haunted by my experience with Dr Song. I again want to strongly urge women to consider other practices as this one is very male oriented ... may be great for vasectomies and prostatectomies but the extra large stirrups, failure to provide female assistants, (a young office staffer served as a female present in the room during the exam), and an astounding failure to communicate intent and purpose with a female patient demonstrate his indifference/inexperience with female patients . The physical office itself certainly doesn't want women to feel comfortable, less anxious as they sit in a huge shockingly bright white waiting room completely devoid of a welcome. I have been to Access Urology located in Alhambra and Doctor Song and the other doctors there have been very professional. There front desk staff makes going there a big win. I have been to other clinics and oh boy the front staff is awful. They never answer the phone or have attitudes, but here at this location all of them are great. The have great customer service and treat you the patient very well. I highly recommend anyone needing to see a urologist to go to this location. BEWARE!!! I should have listened to all the reviews and booked my vasectomy with the head surgeon Dr. David Song instead of Dr. Felix Chen. I paid cash price only to be left with a horrible infection and I am still in a lot of pain. The staff are welcoming. The girl in the front was professional. They were able to book me for the procedure immediately. My first visit was a consultation with Nurse Practitioner Gil Magdangal. She was very informative but she said my pain level would only be a 2 out of 10. My pain level was a 9 out of 10 and I was swollen and bruised after the vasectomy. I do not believe her claims about other patients saying there is no pain involved. I am paying out of pocket so I will not return for follow up. Overall, if you plan to have a vasectomy done be sure to book with the head surgeon mentioned in the reviews only! Very mixed feelings regarding this urology office. Dr. Song is a very good physician. He takes his time answering all questions during the initial consult and offers guidance on the correct clinical pathway. The procedure went well, and have no complaints with Dr. Song himself. The real issue I have is with the front desk and billing. Three weeks post-procedure I had some minor complications and called the office to make sure things were going in the right direction during the healing stage. They had a Mid level provider call me back as a follow-up to my questions to offer some medical guidance. A couple weeks later on my final visit, I was presented with a co-pay charge for the phone call I had made while I was having complications. If I had been properly warned about this charge before speaking to a provider, there'd be no issue at all. However, at no point was I told that I would be charged for a telephone consult, and that is very poor practice. Keep in mind, this was not an initial consultation that I called for, I was only calling because I had questions/concerns about symptoms regarding a procedure that was performed in-office. There are rules for medical facilities providing the cost of care to a patient (price transparency), and I didn't appreciate the "surprise" co-pay charge waiting for me on my follow-up visit. read more

I went to see Dr. Song for a presumed infection for which he gave me Ciprofloxacin for seven days. I started to have a severe reaction to the medicine, and after I called the office to ask to speak with Dr. Song, I was told he would call me back to check on me. The call never came. I called to follow up and was told he was in clinic and would call that night. The call never came. I called again to follow up and I was told clinic had gone longer than expected and he would be calling that evening. The call never came. After a third call, I was told he would that night, but he never called. He prescribed Ciprofloxacin for a presumed infection, when he should have made sure that I in fact had an infection that could be treated with antibiotics given that the side effects from this medicine can be life altering! And second, when I had an adverse reaction to the medicine and I called THREE times to ask for his guidance, he should have, in my view, had the professional courtesy to follow up. In my opinion, I would never recommend this doctor to a friend or a loved one. read more

This "doctor" is the worst of the worst. He said (in somewhat different words), "If you were my father, I would just not do anything, and just let yourself die." If that's what "caring" for people is about, we are all doomed, at least with this "doctor." He talked to me for less than 5-minutes and was all ready to walk out the examination room, and then I asked him, "So what can you do for me about having to urinate all night, keeping me from being able to sleep?" He then proceeds to give me a bunch of sample drugs and prescriptions, which flat out made me extremely sick. I went to my primary care physician and he told me to STOP all those drugs immediately, that it was entirely inappropriate for Dr. Song to have me taking all of that stuff. read more

EXTREMELY frustrated with this office's communication. On three separate occasions I have been told walking out of an appointment that my meds will be refilled ASAP only to arrive at the pharmacy HOURS later to be told no- the medications weren't actually refilled. This is the SECOND time today i've now waited in these 30 minute lines to pick up meds that already should've been available- as confirmed by the doctor's office to my face. The staff here is very nice and the doctor is too despite every appointment with him feeling very rushed, but something isn't being handled correctly here if I have to stress about getting meds from this office every time. read more

The most ridiculous dr visit ever. Waited 1 month and then 40 minutes in a loud, loud pub-like waiting room only to be seen for 2 minutes by a doctor rushing me, badmouthing other ER doctors, saying I didn't have uti and that ER doctors diagnose it "because it's easier and then throw antibiotics at you" (he later did the exact same thing). He said he'll "just give me an antibiotic in case I have a new partner and to prevent a new uti". Asked "if I didn't have uti before, why are you giving me antibiotic (like candy) to prevent something I'm not prone to ?". Basically, why is antibiotic being prescribed so lightly ? He never answered the two questions I told him I had for him, nor explained the results of ultrasound, or the urine sample's. Basically brought nothing but chaos and confusion. Does NOT listen OR communicate properly. He blurts out words that contradict the previous ones. Very agitated, probably high on something. He's a complete misogynist. Cannot stand being asked for clarification by a woman and feels personally invalidated. Leaving the room, he said maybe he's not the right doctor for me. Well with all due respect, you're not the right doctor for anyone ! Well, unless you feel there is $urgery involved, right ? Disgusting. I left confused and frustrated and didn't want to book the follow up exam which imo would've led to more irritation and confusion. Should NEVER be seeing patients. Waisted all this time for bs meant to badmouth other doctors while doing worse. At least the other doctors solved my problem and you did not ! Terrible communication in the office too since the guy at the desk told me I should start antibiotic "immediately" then admitted it was a mistake. Originally was supposed to have my vasectomy done with Kaiser, but because of covid-19, was understandably placed on a wait list. What I didn't expect was to be on this list for over a year. Having read up on the no-scalpel technique, I was hoping to find another clinic who provided this service. Luckily, I came across LA Men's Health and Urology. After my initial consultation with Dr. Song, I knew that this was where I wanted to have the procedure done. As a dentist, it was a strange feeling being a patient, but Dr. Song's chairside manner is something any clinician in any field can aspire to. He kept everything light considering the awkward and uneasy nature of the procedure, and was an absolute professional. The most pain I felt was the delivery of the local anesthetic but even then, it was a 2 out of 10 on a pain scale. I did not request it, but he also offers nitrous oxide to help with anxiety. Once the anesthetic was administered, I did not feel a thing. Post op, it wasn't until day three (..been about 2 weeks now since my procedure..) when I felt any discomfort and swelling but that too was not so bad (3 out of 10). I didn't even need to take any pain medication. I understand that everybody's pain tolerance varies, but for me overall was a great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Song and his team. read more

I have 18 screws, 4 titanium plates, 1 Neuro stimulator for leg pain and 1 pain pump (morphine). Opioids are affecting my testosterone level. My Doctor gave me a referral to see Dr. David Song he did Lab work and my testosterone level was 35 L very low. He put me on a therapy plan and so far I'm feeling great. He and his staff are polite, respectful and very professional. I recommend him he is a good Doctor. read more
