Wow. I had AccessMaids come out to do a "move out clean" yesterday and had the WORST experience - it was waaay shady. I really don't know how this cleaning company is still in business. I have a very similar story to the other negative reviews on here, but I still feel the need to complain so that no one uses this company; I apologize in advance for the length of this review. I really do. Let's start from the beginning, shall we?
First, I reserved a day and time online, (I reserved one hour, one maid, quoted at $25) and received a confirmation email stating only the day and time, and what kind of cleaning I had requested, no price confirmation. That should have been my first tip-off, but apparently I'm too much of a trusting person and didn't think I'd be screwed over (especially by a company that boasted they were a part of the "Better Business Bureau Reliability Program" on their website - which, by the way, I checked out after this whole fiasco, and they are not. Let me repeat, NOT approved by the BBB though they state they are...).
About a half hour late, two maids arrive. Not the one maid that I had requested, but TWO, when they charge $25 per hour per maid. I figured, okay fine, I'm not going to make a big deal over an extra $25 for an additional maid when I'm already stressed out about the entire moving process. The women do an okay job (did not do the "add-ons" (wall and baseboard cleaning) that I asked for), and then tell me that they need two hours to do the job. Two hours for a small bedroom, a very small bathroom, and a short hallway. Really..?
So when they told me I was going to be charged $100, not the $25 I thought I was going to be paying, I called the manager of the company. Who may I just note, may be the rudest customer service representative I have ever encountered. He told me that had I read through all of the terms of agreement, I would have found that for that certain service I had reserved, they send two maids, for a minimum amount of an hour and 45 minutes. Now, I don't know about you, but if I am making a reservation for something online, and I am not warned before pressing "okay, go, do it", that I need to read through the terms of agreement, I don't seek them out to read. Yes, stupid, I know. But I'm generally not a stupid person. Really. But I really thought that whatever I would have been charged for would have been provided for me on the ordering page - that I would not have to seek out the terms so that I would be sure that they couldn't rip me off. And, it gets better - also stated in the terms was the fact that I would be charged a 3.9% processing fee for paying with a credit card. Seriously?? All of this information NO WHERE ELSE TO BE FOUND ON THE WEBSITE.
So, after a half hour long fight with the "manager", I hadn't gotten anywhere and just told the asshole to charge me, and that I would take it up with the BBB. Which I did. Good luck to you, AccessMaids. read more
