I came to this place because a buddy of mine told me that they work on low cars. I own a 01 Mazda Miata it's my little drift toy. Couldn't figure out why my lights were shortening out... Jason, the tech. Told me to leave the car over night so they can do a deep inspection. The following morning Jason gave me a call and told me the report. Apparently a wire got wet and messed a lot Of things up and caused a lot of fuses to blow. I did tell them to go ahead and work on whatever needs to be fixed. "Engine wise as well" not just electrical. They did a full car inspection, because track day is around the corner and I wanted the car to be in tip top shape. They started off with draining all fluids( oil, trans fluid, diff fluid & brake fluid) they all did a full ignition tune. Changed the spark plugs and coils. Also advised that I need sway bar bushings sometime in the future but I said the hell with that just go ahead and change them right now. Overall they did a really awesome job! Everything was up to date and they did it all for a very reasonable price!!! The car was running great I scheduled a routine maintenance with them and will be coming in very often so they can service my racecar! Avoid. Acclaim Auto Care employees were loudly complaining about prior customer using a Groupon. Their crew turned us away for bringing a groupon in one hour and thirty minutes prior till the posted closing hours. Extremely unethical business. The "larger" fella working the desk was rude, unprofessional, and unforgiving. Do not show up late! Better yet... DO NOT GO The same fella repetitively insisted that a Nissan Versa "REQUIRED" synthetic oil and did not RECOMMEND a conventional oil.... The car is only 3 years old.... Required?? I worked with the original owner to get a new engine and clutch installed. A year later, I learned the original owner sold the shop and my warranty should be honored. I brought my car in for something I thought might be clutch related. I towed it in on a Monday. They told me they were getting the needed part and my car would be ready Friday. When I didn't hear from them, I left a message over the weekend and called again Monday. I was told they would update me Tuesday. I called back Tuesday. They said they couldn't find the part at any dealership, eBay nor any pick and pull. I asked for the part number. I was able to find it in stock at three online shops, including eBay. I called to tell them I found it. They preceded to find it at Fremont Nissan and said they would have the part Wednesday. I had to call Wednesday afternoon to find out my car's status. It was finally done. What the F were they doing with my car the whole week they had it?! If someone like me, who is not a mechanic, could find the part in 20 minutes, what took them so long?! I went there to use a Groupon for the conventional oil change. When I tried to use the Groupon, the technician informed me that the conventional oil is not what my car requires. He tried to convince me that I needed a synthetic blend as my car "only takes a special type of oil." I own a 5-year old Hyundai. Not a Lambo. Not a Lotus. A cheaper-than-dirt Hyundai. I've had plenty of regular oil run through my 4-banger without any problems. I understand you need to up-sell, but come on. At least make the upgrade optional, not mandatory. I left and went somewhere else. You should, too. Edit: My owner's manual indicates that my vehicle can take both 5W-20 and 5W-30. The Groupon's "5W-30" should've been fine. read more

Came here for a simple conventional oil change... waited almost 20 minutes to be "checked in", showed the guy my Groupon, and he suddenly started trying to charge for all kinds of unnecessary extra services. This guy really tried to convince me that my car only takes the much more expensive synthetic oil, when I know for a fact that regular motor oil would do just fine. He told me that he wouldn't do the regular $19 oil change I had already paid for, I would have to pay an extra $60+ tax for a bunch of crap I didn't need. Apparently my only choices were to either pay a ridiculous amount for unnecessary services, or get a refund and go somewhere else. So I went down the street to Speed-E Oil change where they confirmed that the Acclaim's "customer service" guy was feeding me crap and regular oil was what my car needed. I bought a groupon and went there for an oil change. Came home with a broken dipstick. Jason argued with me for 10 mins on the phone about this, saying that it was broken before I came in, plastic ages and deteriorates etc. I am pretty sure it was fine before, even if it was broken before the job, I hold the shop responsible for not informing me about it. This is an inexpensive item to be fussy about, and could have easily been taken care of with a simple 'let me take care of it'. They labor charges are also very high. read more

Buyer Beware!! Bought the oil change from Groupon. Good deal I thought. When the service was done, was told by Jason that the struts were bad. Was suspicious immediately since I had the struts replaced 6 months ago! I left without telling him this. A few days later, went to my car dealership to get my tires changed and the service guy offered to check the struts. The dealership took a picture of it and there were no leaks or damage to it. I went in for a oil change and ended up getting my life saved! Even though they knew my stepdad was a mechanic they saw that my "Roder" (excuse me for my spelling and lack of car knowledge) was cracking and let me know how dangerous is was and to get off the road and get a hold of my stepdad! They went out of their way to teach me how to check my oil and to visually show me the cracking. Such great service! cant wait for my next oil change to go back! :) By the way the oil change was nice and fast and there is lots to do on main st. I've been there many times since for routine maintenance and repairs. In the latest trip, he saved my boss $576 on a repair that Wheel Works said needed to be done (cracked hub and bad wheel bearings, they couldn't align the wheels. Also 2 studs on the rear hubs were bad), Jason confirmed that there was no crack and the wheel bearings were fine (there was no evidence when driving that there was an issue anyways), fixed the studs at a much better price than Wheel Works quoted, and he took the car down the street to Pacific Tire for an alignment. Who could ask for better customer service... If you're looking for an honest mechanic that will not try to add on needless things to your bill--and to tell you how it is, look no further. The price of the labor for both front & rear was about $80 less than another local competitor. Not only did they replace the brakes, they also showed me that the cv joint was torn and there was an oil leak. 0 stars. Stay away from this dumpster fire of a shop. The tech Caitlin said that the car (a 2016) was too new and they didn't have the right equipment to "change the oil settings". What does that even mean? Because they didn't have the right equipment, it took them 45 minutes and they charged for all of those minutes. "Sorry, that's just our shop rate." I don't think it's right to charge your customers because you don't know what you're doing. Shop was filthy, and they left the drivers seat of the car dirty from their clothes. $160 for an oil change. The dealership charges $80 and throws in a car wash. We're going to try calling the owner tomorrow or Monday and will update this review if there is a positive resolution. read more

I've taken my car here at least 3 times and have had fantastic service EVERY TIME! Both of the workers there are named Jason, and both of them are genuinely nice and easy-going guys. Today I came in to get my oil changed and they got that done within a 30 minutes. They also noticed that my battery was leaking and ordered a new battery which came in 15 minutes. Extremely efficient and professional! They took me to where my car was being worked on and explained how they could tell the battery was leaking in really good detail. I'm not someone who knows much about cars, but these guys made me feel confident that they had my car in their best interest. I've honestly had such great experiences with these guys and wouldn't think about going to another shop. Their rates are affordable and the customer service is excellent. I would recommend this shop to anyone, ESPECIALLY if you own a Subaru. Jason owns a couple of them and he really knows his way around those cars! Overall, great shop! Tip: Make an appointment. During the service they showed me a leak in my transmission and told me it'd cost about 700 which made sense given the level of labor required. I came in without an appointment and they managed to service my car in less than 1 hr and 30 minutes. They were very friendly even to non-customers who wandered in lost. Their waiting area was a little cold though even if it was morning didnt bother to crank up the heat. Small issue. - .5 stars The only thing that really bothered me was that they didn't stock 5w20 oil. The oil that my car was optimised for. Didn't want to pay for full synthetic oil. Forced to go with 5w30. Small issue and slightly annoying since you'd figure they would stock considering more cars are use 5w20 nowadays. -.5 stars. Still great service and deal. I came in for just an Oil Change on my old 2002 Saturn. I got so much more! They were friendly, thorough, and very knowledgeable about my car. I casually described some sounds it was making to the shop manager and the mechanic found them before we talked to him. I got a detailed list of what they found and no pressure sales pitch. I realized I got scammed. I bought the oil change Groupon and when I went in to use it they told me they didn't have regular oil to use on my car but if I pay 45$ more for half synthetic it would be better. I should have left when he told me he "didn't have any oil left". Keep in mind I went early in the morning and there were no other people ahead of me... so how can someone who's promoting a groupon for a basic oil change be out of oil?? So I fell for it, and said fine. They had me change my air filters cuz it was really dirty so I get it, but 75$ to change my filter!? I had some problems with the car shaking when I start the engine for a few weeks. Jason went through a thorough diagnosis and test drive to check if the car had any critical mechanical problems seen unsafe to continue driving. When he returned the car to me, he told me the coolant was missing a full gallon (due to my radiator in bad shape) and they filled it up for me. Besides that, he could not find any other problems and told me he is not charging me a cent because that's how they do it if no issues can found and fixed. He also pointed out certain things around the radiator probably needed fixing but nothing dire yet. Jason refused to take payment for the labor or even the coolant when I insisted. This review is for service I got done a few months back. Somehow forgot to write the review but remembered today when my oil reminder came on in my car. I usually go to a place down the road for my oil changes, but decided on a whim to give a few other places a try since I've never really tried anywhere else after I moved into town 4 years ago. I have a car in decent shape-- 2008 Honda that I have taken perfect care of. I am not sure if it was the owner working, or a manger, or just a general employee, but it was the first time in my life (even after getting oil done at the dealership and everywhere else over the few states I've lived in with this car) that somebody wrung me up for synthetic oil and said that is absolutely what has to be put in my car. We went back and forth over it for a few minutes before I mentioned that my father is a mechanic back east and I can just give him a call to clarify. Our debate kind of ended there and I got my basic oil change that I have always had in this car for it's life. Then I was being told that my shocks were bad, my struts were bad, etc, etc. This car is an 08' with 70K on it, so I doubted very much that everything was bad, but my father was visiting the next week and I knew I could have him look at it for a second opinion. I had him look at it, had a friend who is a mechanic look at it, and took it to a shop where I didn't know anybody and got their unbiased opinion-- all of them said nothing is wrong with my suspension. Not even close to being shot. So, just from my personal experience, here is a heads up that this could be one of those shops that tell you stuff is bad just to get you in to fix it, or try to push all the upgrades on you when you don't need it, etc. read more

So an additional 25 was added totalling 40. Thats fine. Then I was told 2 lug nuts were stuck and that cost and labor could be between 200 and 400 dollars. And that this was important as my tires may burst from lack of rotation. I am going on a road trip so I was stuck as it was a Saturday as well. I got brake pads installed that I had purchased online. I called before getting brake service done and had a quote of spending about $140. I left Acclaim auto with $90 in my pocket because of his knowledge of brakes. I just got the brake pads changed for $50. I got my engine oil changed from some other place and within few days my car's undercover hung. While I was driving, i heard a noise and found car undercover hanging. It was impossible to drive because undercover was scratching with the road. This guy came to my rescue. He honestly told me that we don't do this work but made a temporary fix by tying it so that i can at least drive to workshop. He didn't accept any money because he said he has only done a workaround and not a proper fix. Jason (owner) installed the motor on our Sienna automatic door after a wear and tear on the motor. He did an amazing job! Looks like.. feels like brand new. Works perfectly fine. This place doesn't know how to do a timing belt on a car. I took my car in to do a timing and they did not do it correctly. They bent one of my valve from being off. Took my car in this past weekend on a Saturday. It was an interesting day. They were swamped and there was an annual fundraising event happening at the Catholic School across the street. Lots going on. I took my car in since I was hearing loud noises coming from the right front wheel. I took it to another mechanic shop (I had been going to regularly) to see what the issue was. They took it on a few test drives and seemed to not understand what the issue was. I took it to Acclaim and was greeted immediately. He took me in for a test drive and within a few minutes, he was able to pinpoint exactly what was going on. He proceeded to answer a few more questions from a couple clients that we're waiting in the shop. He expertly did that and it seems, simultaneously, he had already called his goto parts shop and asked if my parts were available. I needed some new front struts along with changing the arms that connect to the struts. He gave me a quote and I thankfully agreed. He even offered to drive me home since I told him I lived close by. What an awesome owner! I went home and then shortly thereafter, the shop called me. My vehicle was done. I paid my fees. And by the way, I got a few estimates from a couple other shops and he was by far the lowest. My car was done and now the noise is gone and now it feels like brand new. Wow. What an awesome experience at Acclaim. Bottom line, if your looking for awesome service, quality work with a absolutely fair price, Acclaim is your place. Ask for Jason. read more

Made me feel really taken advantage of. Unfortunate, because I really liked working with Jason and felt he was very friendly/fair. I can get the part for $10.... the labor fee is unfair the job is not hard i can do it for 1 hour .....the second its a crappy work they will just tape the wirings like a kid playing i can even do better than that ..... its so unprofessionalism .......
