This is a belated review, but I have had my Lexus GX470 serviced at Exact Motorsports twice in the last couple years. In November 2024, my lexus had an oil leak. I went to investigate and it was near the oil filter housing it attaches to. drove it to Exact motorsports to have them evaluate, and Sandy & John were helpful in diagnosing the problems. They seem to be very knowledgable with the toyota/lexus platform. They gave me a reasonable quote and I left the car with them. They also mentioned it was probably due for new spark plugs, and a new valve cover gasket so I had them throw that in there as well. When I picked up the car, it drove much more efficiently and no more leaks! Turns out it was a broken O ring. I enjoyed that experience, so a year later (Nov 2025) my belt was squeeking a lot in cold weather. They were able to diagnose and swap the belt to a new one within a day or so. No more squeeks in the cold mornings. The best part about exact is that its a mom and pop, locally owned shop that doesnt put you in a upsell, pressure environment. They tell you what you need, what you dont need, and what are nice to do but not urgent so you can make your choices for the best quote. I will be going to them for any future needs for my Lexus, and have been recommending them to my friends and family for the same purposes. read more

I have been a customer at Exact Motorsports for almost 10 years now. The service and honest fair pricing they provide is exceptional. Sandy is very knowledgable on what type of maintenance is needed on a car. She always give you an option of using OEM or quality aftermarket parts, and provide quotes so you can compare and find what's best for your needs. One time I noticed my engine coolant reservoir to be completely empty. I emailed Sandy for advice, and she fit me in the next day and advised me to buy Toyota coolant and top it off before driving. After dropping off the car, they immediately found the radiator is cracked and needs to be replaced. They ordered parts and replaced the same day. They even help arranged a ride to a nearby car rental shop. They truly go above and beyond for their service. My first review was about replacing struts. I went with Sandy's recommendation of using aftermarket struts (KYB brand). 10 years later, I can positively vouch for her recommendations. The strut has held up well over time. read more

Called ahead the other week to have my car looked at as I was leaking coolant. Drop off was quick and easy after informing John about my concern. Sandy called a couple hours later informing me of the diagnosis along with the charge. Requested for OEM parts and they were able to do so. Sandy called later that afternoon checking in and providing a status update. Got a call the following morning informing that the car was ready to go. During pickup, John provided the used part and checkout was easy with Sandy. They take credit cards and also provide a 12 month/12k warranty on their work too! read more

A few things don't add up in this story, and honestly, you don't need a high IQ to see that. The day I brought in my vehicle, it was driving perfectly normal. The minute I picked it up, I noticed something felt different. I planned to drive it for a couple of days to figure out exactly what it was or whether it had anything to do with the diff fluid. At higher speeds, the issue became more noticeable. Unfortunately, before I could return, someone hit my front bumper, and I didn't get a chance to go back until I got my vehicle back. This was something I had already mentioned to a couple of friends beforehand, and we initially thought it might be the tire bolts although we were wrong. I was completely transparent about the accident and the timeline of this the whole time. That jab at me to check my car after the accident is funny because logically the repair shop checked the front. No damage to the other control arms, but magically the rear end got damaged. Please don't even attempt to make that make sense. No more excuses. What also doesn't make sense is I'm being told there was severe damage to my car when I never presented a picture of it. How would you know? Does that actually make sense? As you can see in Sandy's response, I was met with outrageous "what ifs," which told me everything I needed to know about this shop. Replacing the part myself won't break the bank, but that's not the point, it's the principle. I will not be coming back because I prefer taking my car somewhere I can actually trust. Whether you worked on that specific part of car is irrelevant at this point. I feel like a broken record repeating myself. Additionally, John's ego was something else, and he was extremely rude. I don't care how long you've been in the business--mistakes still happen. Come on now. For someone who's been in business for 30 years, you guys clearly lack customer service. It took two minutes to lift and look at my vehicle, yet they wanted to charge me for a full hour after I had already spent a significant amount on maintenance and had planned to return. Over the phone, Sandy continuously stumbled when answering basic questions, and I had a friend listening to the conversation the whole time. It was honestly laughable how often she contradicted herself. She first said, "We don't test-drive cars," until I mentioned my car was being driven in when I arrived. Then it became, "Oh, we don't go far--there aren't many places we can go, just the parking lot." Yet I saw the car come in from the street. The temperature gauge was hot, and my seat and everything was adjusted. Her response was, "Like I said, we don't have many places to go." Last time I checked, I used roads to get there and back. My Car handled great coming in, but not so much when I left. If my car is at your shop whatever happens to it is your responsibility. I'm not even frustrated anymore--just disappointed. There are plenty of newer shops out there that value honesty, accountability, and treating customers with basic respect. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Really good service, John and Sandy are always very helpful and the cost is not one that breaks the bank. I have a Toyota Tacoma that I've had a full fluid change out ( Transmission, transfer case, differentials block and radiator) and had it back the next day and was well under other shops I usually go to. Exact Motorsports has been around for many years. I started coming here when I was a teenager many moons ago. I am now in my mid 40's and have been tirelessly looking for an honest shop that is able to take care of all our cars in the family, especially being a new Dad. I took my car here recently because after changing my brakes and rotors, I noticed vibration while driving. Honestly, it's pretty hard to for any automotive repair shops to receive high rating on yelp because many people think that the shops are going after their pockets or cutting corners to minimize cost. But i can see why Exact Motorsports has such high ratings. I bought a used Lexus from a small, now shady, dealership and already having major engine problems within a month, which they arent taking accountability of. I looked online and many people on the Lexus forums recommended Exact Motorsports so I contacted them immediately. Sandy was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the car and knew her ways around the engine and told me exactly what to expect. And John and Steve were the only guys I trusted. John lowered my black C36 AMG when coilovers were not available yet, just springs. And the last car they worked on was my Lexus IS. I received good service on a moderate big job (overnight) and other services. I called Sandy multiple times before hand she handles all the consultation and paperwork, she always give good advice. Did not meet the mechanic but no problem there, the way the car runs afterwards speaks for itself. We live far enough so is a need for Uber to and from the shop. Riding in dirty and bumpy cars with worn out everything does help us affirm the decision to repair our vehicle, to keep it from turning into the same junk. read more

John is still the only mechanic that I trust to work on my Z32...more so now than ever before! I just got my Z back from John and Sandy for an oil change and to diagnosis a check engine light, BUT the main reason was because a local paint/body shop messed up the wiring for all my forward lights (fog lights + front indicator/parking lights) after getting it repainted...and of course John was able to fix it and straighten everything out. The check engine light came back as a false alarm with my O2 sensor which John inspected and verified that it was a non-issue, and that I wouldn't need to replace at this time. I respect their honesty and customer service which is why I come back even for simple oil changes to ensure that I have trustful eyes on my Z at all times! Highly recommended spot! I have been taking my car to the dealership where I got my car originally for all the regular maintenance and services. I had a torn CV boot issue on my 5 year old Toyota and the dealership wanted to charge me an arm and a leg just for this fix (if an arm and a leg costs $1k each, that is) Came here and got it done over the weekend ALONG with getting my brakes replaced for less than half of Toyota's price! This review is long overdue. I found out about Exact Motorsports from ClubLexus forum, and had aftermarket shocks & lowering spring installed couple months ago. Great price and took only about 3 hours or so to finish the installation with an appointment. This shop does not do alignment in-house (they can refer another shop) but it is not a big deal as you want to wait few weeks for springs to settle before getting alignment anyways. Recommend this shop for aftermarket modifications and maintenance/repair. read more

I have been a loyal customer ever since I was old enough to drive, they have worked on all of the vehicles I have owned throughout the years and it has always been a joy going to them. Sandy knows her fair share about cars, she is able to explain why and what parts need to be replaced. She is also able to quote cheaper than most automotive shops in the area. John is an amazing mechanic, he knows everything about cars even if you are heavily modified, he will know how to install parts or fix something. My flat tire was repaired few months back but the fix was not proper and my tire pressure is dropping due to small wobble of puncture previously fixed by them . Please go to Americas tire I didn't knew what to do first time and went here for flat tire repair. In the long run I got an issue and had to replace the flat tire with new at Americas tire good lesson learnt. Don't go to unknown places especially for flat tire service Reply to the exact Motorsports recent comment----- The tire was removed and inspected by Americas tire recently and showed me due to a small bump from previous flat tire repair that I got it repaired, in my case it was your workshop.
