Accurate Auto Body - My Toyota, post repair. :) - Body Shops Near Me - Richmond, California

I took my car into accurate auto body for warranty painting as directed by Hanlees Toyota several months ago as their shop who handles these claims directly with Toyota. Alex the associate assigned as the expert looked over the vehicle and proceeded to let me know he would file a claim to have the repainting approved. Alex dropped the ball and did not follow up so I called and he said the repainting was approved by Toyota and the car would be scheduled in January 2024. I followed up with Alex in January as he did not follow up with Scheduling, his excuse was several cars were ahead of me and now they would schedule the job in a couple more weeks. Towards the end of February I called again as I did not receive follow up on the schedule. Alex again said the job would be done and I would need to wait a bit more due to other vehicles in front of me. I am concerned as it's been over 2.5 months since my original walk through with Alex. I contacted the shop asking for Tiffany, the owner, to call me today, since Alex was ghosting me, but she was busy and would call me back. Instead Tiffany had Alex call me, who then said they actually do not handle painting for Hanlees and were only handling these paint claims as a courtesy and no longer wanted to work on these for Hanlees and I would need to start the whole process over with another Toyota dealer such as Berkeley Toyota who had their own shop. I said to Alex that he promised me he was an expert in these claims and the accurate auto body team would do the job. I said I am under timelines to make a claim for the painting of my vehicle and I would lose the claim. He referred me back to Hanlees which I explained to him that he was the one who handled and filed my claim with Toyota and he needed to work to make this right by contacting Hanlees, Berkeley Toyota, and Toyota claims to have my warranty claim transferred. He said he would try and send me an email with the claim information, approved estimate and contacts for Toyota Berkeley, etc. Alex did not send me anything yet, nor did I receive a call back from Tiffany, the owner as promised. I am highly disappointed and frustrated as I was given the run around and then dumped on as if they were doing me a favor after the fact and now I am left fending for myself. This is just bad business and I need Tiffany to contact me asap with a resolution. I would not recommend this shop if this is how they treat customers. read more

Unfortunately my car was bumped by someone who was trying to park. So I came here because of a recommendation from my boyfriend. This was going to be settled without using insurance, but after things fell through I had to call my insurance to get it settled. Luckily this body shop is in network with AAA. Wow, the service was amazing. I got help from Alex, Mari, and Hugo. They were all spectacular! They also made sure to sanitize the counters at the receptionist desk and clean my keys before handing it back to me which is much appreciated! I also recieved a little goodie bag which was so nice as well as having my car cleaned. As for the body work, it is superb. I don't know what's been up w/ my luck lately since moving to CA a few years ago but, both cars I've owned have been hit WHILE parked (luckily, those honest folks left a note w/ their insurance info each time). Most recently, I bought a brand new car a month ago. That too, was hit while it was parked in front of our home (lol, why me tho), and was worried that the metallic paint would be hard to match, but disappoint they did NOT!!! Van looks perfect after rear bumper was damaged. They were able to remove my Clean Air Vehicle sticker and place it on the new bumper. Facility is new and modern. Reception area is clean has bottled water, and is spacious. Front parking has overhead covering which shelters the car from rain and sun. Staff very professional, friendly, and efficient. They handled the supplemental claim with auto insurance. Don, the manager, was nice to keep the van at the facility until I could pick it up. At pick-up, they even gave a thank-you bag with snacks, pen, post-its, and detailed bill. read more

Okay, so a couple of small things went missing from my car. Nothing too expensive, but I never heard back from the owner - Edward Cichon - about my concerns. Still left with the question, "Why would my car have an additional THREE miles on the odometer after five days in a small auto body shop?" The repairs seems fine, but I can't recommend this place. My insurance (Allstate) sent me here. My Kia Soranto was hit from behind by a older Honda Accord. The Honda hood went up under the rear bumper. It Tore out my spare tire from underneath my SUV Kia .Got my estimate, Needed new bumper,some paint etc.etc My insurance was going to take care of it. But I said I see that there is no charge for checking the frame. They had my car for 2 weeks. They don't do frame work. They didn't check it. Called insurance, not going have this place repair my SUV. Went down SanPablo Ave (Pinole) to another repair shop. Guest What? The frame damaged. Not repairable,totaled.Insurance paid me. Wonderful experience with a local, family-owned business. Although the repair was for minor trim work, Chris patiently explained options when I dropped by last week. During today's appointment, he kept me informed about progress, including a photo of how my choice of repair would look. At the end of the day, the repair looked great! A long-overdue wash was the icing on the cake! Then the rep who brought the car out sprayed and wiped down any surfaces she had touched with automotive disinfectant. The fob was also wiped down and passed over on a towel. For a small business to go through all of these steps during this pandemic AND maintain an incredibly friendly and professional tone makes a huge impression! 5 star service! Everyone I dealt with was super friendly and professional. They took many extra measures in regard to COVID (protective screen between desk employee and customer, clearly identified clean pens, everyone wearing a mask, cleaned my car key and credit card before returning to me, hand sanitizer readily available). The work they did on my vehicle was beautiful. In my mind the work was minuscule since I thought it was minor damage from a small car accident. But, I was so impressed with how beautiful the bumper/tailgate looked. It looks brand new! Welp, my poor 14 month old car got hit again! I was leaving a parking lot and was already backed into the aisle when a Honda Pilot came barreling into the side of my 2017 Toyota Corolla! The Pilot's left side rear bumper collided into the rear quarter panel of my car, leaving dents along the driver side passenger door, as well as scratches and paint damage. After dealing with the owner/driver of the Honda Pilot, who was shady to say the least, I drove home in shock that yet again, my poor car, which is STILL new by car age standards, had been hit again. Immediately when filing the claim, I told my insurance where I wanted to go: back to Accurate Auto Body (there was no question). The next day I worked with Ana to schedule an appointment yet again with Said. I met with Said who detailed what work would take place on my car and for how long the car would be at Accurate. I just got my car back and I am yet again pleased with the work that was done to my car. You would never know that there had been a collision and I am again feeling so happy that my car is looking brand new again (the way I want it to look forever!) I've come to this body shop twice before and they never let me down, but this third time will be my last. My car got slammed into a curb so the whole wheel needed to be replaced. I got it back, then the next day I noticed the tire was looking a bit flat so my boyfriend checked for me and it was down about 10 psi. Couldn't find a hole in the tire using the soap and water method but it turned out to be the valve stem. Another thing is the color matching, the fender was repainted and is a totally different shade- when I went back Alex told me that since it's plastic it won't dry the same color as the rest of the metal rear quarter panel and door and all the other plastic painted parts are just old and faded already. I told him that's weird because I'm been here twice before and they repainted my PLASTIC rear bumper and that same fender and it was a perfect color match both those times. This was all back in November 2021- it's now February 2022. Still waiting on that call back they said they would give me. But it's okay, Im not counting on it to hear back anymore. They said they had to call my insurance to get money to fix it? But it's like, you're gonna use my insurance to fix something that was your fault to begin with?? I rarely come on Yelp to give bad reviews so it sucks I have to do this. If it wasn't obvious, I'm not coming back. Thanks for the first two repairs tho. read more

Accurate Auto Body in Richmond CA has been fixing our cars since 2004. We cannot say enough on how much we appreciate their excellent services. We always felt that we are being taken care of by Tiffany and Dan. Our first car they fixed was a 2004 Sienna minivan, which we bought specifically for our dream road trip from Richmond, CA to Haines, Alaska. Ten days before our carefully planned trip, our Sienna was "totaled" by a car driven by a young mother who was distracted by her crying baby. The damage was so extensive we argued with the insurance company for a new van. Instead, we were told to take our van to Accurate Auto Body to be fixed. They took a look at our van and estimated that 1/2 of the van has to be rebuilt and it would take more than 10 days. We told Tiffany that we did not have 10 days since we were scheduled to leave for Alaska in less than 10 days. We had our lodgings, ferry tickets and train rides all reserved for specific days on our trip. She said they would try. I was sure the mechanics worked overtime to meet our schedule. We left Richmond in our almost brand new van on June 23, 2004 at 5 am in the morning!! We drove 6,000 miles from Richmond to Vancouver, across the Canadian Rocky to Dawson Creek, BC, up the Alaskan Highway to Whitehorse, across the Yukon Territory to Haines AK. From there we took the ferries operated by the Alaskan Marine Highway System, visited many of the island cities along the Alaskan Inside Passage to Bellingham, Washington and drove home from there. We were on the road for 40 days and often drove on those rugged Alaskan roads. One the amazing things was that we did not encounter any car problem with the exception of one flat tire. I contributed the reason to the excellent repair work done by Accurate Auto Body. We kept the Sienna for another 13 years and donated it to KQED after more than 230,000 miles on the road. Came up with mysterious damage on the back of my Mercedes. Not sure how it happened but I came to this place expecting to have to go through my insurance and pay a deductible etc. Mari Greeted me at the front desk and was very friendly to me. She then introduced me to another lady named Rosie who helped me, Rosie came outside to do my estimate and ended up getting a rag and some type of wax or oil. It literally took her about three minutes to remove all of the damage from my car which turned out just to be paint transfer. She refused to take my $20 tip. This was amazing customer service and these were wonderful very helpful people. They could've easily diverted this to my insurance to make money.
