I used Cathy and her team for replacing the front door to our home in West Hartford. We are…read moreextremely pleased with the end result and Bartlett was a pleasure to work with. Cathy visited my property twice for discussion of options and pricing. She is very straight forward and no nonsense, and offered good suggestions. The door quoted was a Provia and although expensive, is the first thing visitors see when coming to our home. It was ultimately more than worth the money. Darek the master carpenter, came once to carefully measure the existing door, lights and woodwork. Ultimately we needed a custom size door built at the factory. His measurements were so accurate, the new door fit perfectly first try in the opening when stood up. Darek performed the removal and new install and is truly a talented professional. We felt lucky to have his skill, and although I'm not a carpenter, I could tell via his work he is excellent. The finished entryway to our home is now amazing and went from rotten to beautiful. Per Cathy's suggestion, I immediately had the surrounding millwork and wood work refinished and painted long before the door install. Again a sage suggestion and saves me money from not losing that to the elements. I highly recommend these professionals.

Still GREAT! If you've read my previous reviews you'd know that in 2001 I hired A1 to replace my…read morewindows and they were fantastic. The previous owner, Dave, retired in 2019 and Dan now runs the company. It's been a while since I had an A1 need but alas, we broke part of a kitchen window last week and couldn't close it. I had my wife email A1 and they got right back to her. They confirmed how dang old our windows were, looked for a part to fix it and set up an appointment with us a few days later to take a look. Fortunately, Dan did have a part and was able to fix the window in a jiffy. It did cost us for a "service call" but it was worth the $160. Nice guy, too. I will continue to use this company in the future. They've replaced over 30 windows for me, installed some old school screens on my porch and have replaced my back door. Great service, give them a shot.

As the reviews of A-1 on Yelp are all older, I wanted to add something current. We used A-1 to…read morereplace over 100 windows, as well as a couple of doors, starting in 2021. Daniel acquired the business from the previous owner around that time after working there as the lead installer (so consider that when reading some of the older reviews) and every experience we've had with Daniel, Don, and the rest of their team has been exceptional. They do great work, have given excellent advice, and have treated our house and windows as if they were working on their own homes. Their prices are competitive--but I appreciate the value--explaining the difference in glass size between a replacement and new window, ensuring proper flashing/insulation, working with me to address any unforeseen issues once the old windows are out, and taking into account my desire to replace exterior trim, all of which impact a project -- vs. just "selling the window that's on the truck". Let's face it, it's a lot less fun to buy windows than a new car or a TV -- but the windows look great, I'm no longer constantly addressing dry rot on 25-year-old windows and trim, and the team at A-1 has really been a partner along the way. Could not be happier with our local installer (and local windows -- shout out to Mercury Excellum, as well)...and highly recommend A-1.

I've known Jeff for over 20 years, first professionally and then socially. I have always found him…read moreto be one of the most ethical and honest contractors I have worked with. He goes out of his way to make sure the products suggested and the installation options provide the most value for my budget. This includes a full house window replacement, sliders, and storm doors. He has a lot of "pull" with his manufacturers and that became evident recently when I had fogging of a side-light window panel that was installed a few years ago. I was hopeful it was under warranty (it was), but not expecting Jeff to have the manufacturer come out and replace it. Above and beyond my expectations! I could not be happier with the products and services from Arrow Windows and highly recommend them!

If I could select 0 stars I would. My parents had an awning installed by Arrow - Jeff's…read moreinstallers. My parents didn't use it much - we noticed that the awning was pulling away from the house and called Jeff to look at - he gave me an estimate and I shared out concerns about not hitting the studs when it was installed but he insisted that we did something wrong. The price was over $700 to take down put up a header and put it back up. Well my husband ended up doing the work and when he took it down he did notice that the original installers only hit one stud which was in no way good enough to carry the load and finally started to let go. I called Jeff to tell him what we found and he just went off on my swearing at me using the F word and calling me a liar and telling me to shut the F up I was shocked how he was talking to me. I also told him I called the manufacturer of the awning and that they didn't have any good to say about his company and again he went off yelling at me and swear at me. I was telling the truth, all I wanted Jeff to do was the right thing and give my parents a reimbursement seeing that my husband had to take down the awning but a header board (cost $70) and then put it back up even if he would've just cover the board at least that was something but his reaction to swear and talk to me the way he did was not acceptable. I did not yell or swear at him the entire call. Jeff did call me back after he called the manufacturer and realized what I said to him was the truth so I will give him a little credit for that but the damage had already been done. If you choice to use this company just beware of their workmanship. The way it is installed now that thing is not going anywhere which it should've been this way to begin with. BEWARE of this company.
