I meant to write this review a while ago. I had my chimney cleaned in September by ACD. They were prompt, did a thorough job with cleaning, and cleaned up any debris left on the hearth. My chimney hadn't been cleaned for a couple years and it really needed it because I use it often. I haven't had any problems with smoke or ventilation issues while burning fires since cleaned. ACD was fantastic! We bought a historic townhouse with two fireplaces that had not been inspected/maintained in several years. ACD got us an appointment quickly and did a full cleaning/inspection, fixed the mortar on caps that had some cracking/weather damage, and installed dampers (don't know why those had not been installed earlier given that it's code). Another highly-rated company couldn't come for a week and 1/2. Her husband, Hurley, arrived on time with his tools, and did a thorough job cleaning, and left my living room clean. He also made sure I knew how to open and close the duct, and checked out another old masonry fireplace I planned to close off, ensuring its vent was closed. Hurley is quite the knowledgeable pro. In addition to excellent service, he maneuvered around our property with great care after arriving punctually. When we were looking for a chimney pro, he was very responsive as well. We had not used the fireplace in our new home just yet and wanted it swept and cleared for use first--safety is key! He took his time, but also worked efficiently and taught us a few things about owning a prefabricated fireplace. Since he swept the flue from above, he considerately took photos of our crown and cap, which we were relieved to see are in splendid condition. Straightaway, we've just had what will be the first of many safe and lovely winter fires in our cozy basement living area. Thanks, Hurley, for taking such great care of us and our fireplace! I was in a pickle and needed my chimney cleaned and serviced. One contractor tried to take advantage of me to sell me products that based on his review were normal wear and tear in the fireplace so I felt bamboozled. The second company was recommended by a neighbor but I was disappointed after waiting for weeks for an appointment only for them not to show up nor have the decency to call me to say it was postponed. I had to call them after waiting 1/2 hour past our appointment. I dreaded going online searching for a Chimney company not referred by someone I knew, but I figured "3 times a charm". LoL. I stumbled onto ACD Chimney Service. My son told me to always look at the reviews. So I checked out his Yelp and also Thumbtack reviews and Thumbtack had almost 400 reviews. Since Hurley had great reviews, my gut told me to go for it! I educated myself on the type of chimney I had and Hurly quoted me a price for cleaning and inspection and came out over the weekend to service my chimney.
