FixMyAC responded via text at 11:45 at night and 5:45 in the morning and came out to diagnose our unit. Since the unit is old, Avi did not have the parts on hand and had to chase them down. The part we needed was not stocked and hadn't been made in over three years, so after FixMyAC trying to source it from many different dealers, AVI decided to replace the part with an updated one. At this point, I believe many repair services would have started talking about replacing the whole unit. During the repair, the AC unit would not start even with the new part. AVI was able to jump it to start but it wouldn't go with the new parts he had put in. At this point, I believe most repair companies would have told us it was shot and we need a whole new unit. Not AVI, he kept at it and tried a couple of different solutions and was able to get it working again (the unit and compressor were still good). FixMyAC and Avi expended a lot of effort to get us fixed, and did it at a reasonable price. Would recommend as an honest service that has a 'do it smart' not 'make as much money from you' approach.

A two-hour appointment was made. On the day of the appointment, I took time off to attend the check-up. The 2-hour window passed and nobody came. I even called them a few times but no answers. 2 hours later they responded to my email with an excuse which I couldn't verify if that's true. They apologized and suggested another time, and I accepted it again. On the second appointment, I took time off and waited at home again. The window passed and nobody came again. No answers to my calls, either. I waited another 20 minutes and I left for my office. 10 minutes later, which is 40 minutes after the window, a text came saying "We are here but nobody answers the door." I'm looking for someone else now.

He was in the area, came by to take a look, and scheduled a date a couple weeks out to come back and make the repair (switching a no longer compliant gas connector for a new one). Liked him, and he seemed knowledgeable. All was good until he texted that he had to reschedule. Tried to get a new date, and he never responded, ever again. Made multiple tries (hey, it is HARD to find someone to work on wall heaters), and silence. It felt weird. If he was just professional enough to respond that he did not have time to do the job, or that the job was too small, or ANYTHING except being totally blown-off -- it would have been a lot better.

We knew it would be pricey, and we wanted to gather a few quotes. //COMMUNICATION + PRE CONSULTATION// I requested a quote on Yelp, and his son immediately messaged us who I believes helps with communication in the behind the scenes. He asked us if his dd Victor would be able to come the next day to take a look. While I was not there for the consultation, my boyfriend said Victor was on time, friendly, and checked a lot of different things. Prior, we had another quote where it felt like he barely checked anything. Victor checked on the roof, checked each room and knew exactly what we needed. A few days later, we requested a few things because our HOA requires approval for an A/C unit. They sent over spec sheets, dimensions, and permits for us. After our HOA approved it, we told Victor + son who were extremely patient. They scheduled us within one week. Our unit was a more commercial like unit (from my understanding) and was a bit different than some other ones, but they happened to have the unit ready. //DAY OF// They were able to do everything within less than 3.5 hours, and were efficient and as non-intrusive as could be. They had extra hands, and a crane person. Everyone was cordial and very friendly. //OVERALL// Due to their quick communication, passion and care in the quote, I would recommend this place over any other bigger name place. He offered to get us a quote which he sent me the next day. I questioned the reliability of the brand he was offering. He admitted that it was a substandard brand and requoted with a more reliable brand. We agreed to move forward with the installation at which time he said we needed to meet him at the supplier to pay for the unit directly. We asked him to just purchase the unit and we would reimburse him but he refused. We reluctantly drove to the supplier to meet him. When we got there we could not find him. I called him and turned out that he texted us an address to the wrong supplier. His response was not apologetic and just laughed. He sent us a different address and eventually found the correct place. Proceeded with the purchase and then looked at the unit we bought. His quote was for a 36000 btu unit and the unit he had them load in his vehicle was a 24000 btu unit. We questioned the difference and hus response was that the smaller unit would work as well as the unit he had quoted. We got into a heated conversation and proceeded back inside to cancel the purchase with the supplier. The unit he quoted us on cost $500 more and refused to make the situation right. The supplier got involved and offered to absorb the $500 difference so we could be a satisfied customer. At that point Victor got really angry because they were willing to do that for us. He demanded that the supplier cancel the transaction and made them give us a refund. What an unbelievable situation.

After crazy searches online & speaking to a few companies I was most impressed with A1 Plumbing Heating & AC. I spoke with Dave. Dave was amazing. Very much willing to help. We went over a few things with my thermostat, then a few other things with the breaker & filter. I could see Dave was really trying hard to help me get it running & not just trying to get money out of me. After we tried & tried again. Looks like the unit had something internal wrong. So Dave was kind enough to send out his best technician. So 2 hours later John the service technician arrived. John was very polite, Nice & I could see he was very smart when it came to diagosing the problem. John was very thorough. After a number of test, It was found that the main control board to my heater was faulty. Now look how honest John was. instead of selling me a new board, he went so far as to call the manufacturer to see if the board was still under warranty. Yes it was. So John left my house drove down to Anaheim, Got a new board under warranty, Came back to my house & installed it. The heater immediately turned on & started to heat up the house within 10 minutes. I am so impressed & amazed that there is still honest hard working good people like Dave & John from A1 Plumbing Heating & AC. I would highly recommend them to anyone & everyone.
