Jodi was able to diagnose and repair our 4 appliances in about a week. We waited for nearly 4 months for another company to ATTEMPT to do the same. Jodi honored my request to wear a mask and actually reminded me before entering the home. He was an affable man who didn't question my odd explanations of the appliance issues. I put in a service request for my dryer through American Home Shield. We were assigned Ace Appliance Repair. The repair man arrived without wearing a mask. I asked him if he had one, he said no. And added, I'm vaxxed, so it's not necessary. I offered him a disposable KN95 mask and said we are all vaxxed, too, but you can't come in my house without a mask. He said, OK and LEFT!!!!! I would give negative rating if possible. I would never recommend this Ace Appliance. Ace Appliance was assigned to me by American Home Shield who indicated that Ace would contact me within 24 hours. The next day, after leaving multiple messages that were not returned, I finally reached Ace the following evening. An appointment set for three days later between 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The repairperson arrived at 1:30 (did call about late arrival a bit before 1:00 PM). When the appointment was made, I explained that the washer would not spin or drain and was full of water that would not drain. When he arrived, I explained this again. Jodi indicated that he did not have any way of draining it -- brought in a wet dry vacuum and wanted to dump the water on garden. I asked if he could do a bit at a time and empty on nearby driveway. Whe he refused, I reluctantly told him that he could put water on the garden as it had already been a week that the washer was not working. At this point he told me that he did not have the equipment to repair, that he would be on vacation the next week and could not order a replacement water pump until he returned and it would take another week for a new water pump for arrive. Why did he accept a job that he know he could not complete? How did he even know it was the water pump when he had not even looked that the washer other than pressing the start button once. He told me to get someone else and canceled the contract on the spot, and drove away. read more

The owner, Jode, repaired the dishwasher at our rental today. He showed up during the appointment window and so far it appears that he fixed the problem even going an extra step to level the dishwasher. That's where my positive review ends. The problem was the total lack of professionalism in the way Jode addressed my tenant and me. 1) Jode refused to order a part that had rusted through insisting that it was "minor" and telling me that the home warranty would not cover it. I asked that he just write it up and let the warranty company make the determination of what was covered and what was not, but Jode refused to do so telling me that I needed to call them myself. When I spoke with the warranty company they concurred with me that Jode should have written up the part and let them make the call as to coverage. 2) When time came to pay, Jode told me that he didn't accept credit cards so I wrote him a check. Later I looked at his Yellow Page ad which states that he accepts All Major Credit Cards! So it appears that Jode just told me a barefaced LIE!!! Wow - talk about unacceptable behavior!! 3) The worst of the encounter was the inflammatory accusations Jode made to my tenant saying that she was putting grease into the dishwasher. When he saw how insulted and upset his comments made her, he kept reiterating his position until he provoked a full scale argument! I was appalled that Jode was so contentious! Even if his assessment of the underlying problem had been completely accurate, he could have easily defused the issue by explaining to the tenant that he was not suggesting that SHE was responsible. After all, she was not the first person to live in that house and use that dishwasher. Instead he kept saying he was just telling her what he saw and her problem was that she didn't like his answer. I'm incredibly disappointed at the exceptionally rude treatment of my tenant. When I let Jode know that I would be reporting his behavior on the customer satisfaction survey, he started arguing with me although I never raised my voice. It's amazing that he's been in business for 20 years as he told me. Most of his other reviewers clearly had similar experiences with Jode. Yes. Shocking and disappointing! :( read more

My dishwasher was not cleaning and I called the Fidelity insurance home warranty company. Ace Appliance Repair Jode Berry came out and said he replaced the brushes. He was called out a 2nd time and blamed the detergent saying "used too much..bad detergent. ..should not use this...". I asked how it could be too much when it was a pellet. He was rude and incompetent. He was very unprofessional. A new repair man came out today, showed me the mechanical problem and fixed it. He said in his 30 years of experience in repairing dishwashers he had not heard the word "brushes" and he said the detergent I was using was the best I could use... I had a repairman come out to look at my dryer that was not working. The honest repairman, told me that it was a simple fix and inexpensive as well. He told me the part I needed and recommended Valley Appliance to get it. I walked in and was surprised at the look of the shop. It was jam packed with old washers and dryers and just seemed cluttered. I gave the old part to the guy I assume was the owner and he knew right away what it was. He did not have the part in stock but suggested another shop to try. I'm rating the business 3 stars because the owner definitely knows appliances and how to fix them. He also suggested possible other reasons why my dryer may not be working. Go for the knowledge and not the look of the shop. read more

I would have to agree with most of the reviews given. It seems that this company is mainly used through home warranty companies. This company was assigned to me in 2021 and the person that came (didn't get his name) just seemed like someone who doesn't like "chit-chat". He worked on my refrigerator/freezer, diagnosed the issue, and the result was that I needed to keep the light on the water dispenser all day/everyday. He said my water wasn't dispensing because it was freezing before it could dispense. By keeping the light on, it will keep the panel warm so the water won't freeze. Ok, so I've done that for a little over 2 years, and now the problem is back. The warranty company sent someone else, which I was glad about, but he can't fix the problem (tried twice and gave up). The warranty company assigned Ace again. They never called me, I called them twice (I see most people waited weeks to contact them, I called them after not hearing from them within 24 hours, and again after 48 hours) with no response. I called the warranty company to complain, and it turns out that Ace cancelled the request!!! They never called me, they just contacted my warranty company and cancelled! Who does that??? Unprofessional is an accurate description of this company and the contractor. read more

If I could give NO stars and warn everyone to stay away.. I would! I have a lease on a home. The owners have as home warranty- which I called to report a Bosch dishwasher problem. They called Ace and Ace called me for an appointment- in 6 days. OK. Their hours are 10am to 3pm...wow... must be nice! I called to confirm the time on the day and a man called me back and identified himself as the technician that would be coming out. He began to ask question after question about what was wrong. ( Keep in mind I already explained it to the insurance company AND Ace on the phone previously) I explained what it was doing and he said "That can't be right- you must be wrong." Uh, what? He proceeded to argue with me that I was describing a problem that he doesn't believe! Then come and see for yourself idiot! He said this ..."Well, I am coming out there and I will set it on the longest cycle and I will stay to see if it does what you say- so I may be there awhile!" Was that a threat? Did he mean he would be hanging around my house watching a dishwasher hum? I hung up and immediately called the Insurance company. Stop him, get me someone else!! Oh and by the way? If they do not have a part we need in stock they are prompt in getting it ordered and to us. You can call and explain a problem with a appliance and 9 times out of 10 they can tell you exactly what you need. Recommended through American Home Shields warranty. Refrigerator was repaired but in the process the refrigerator was left on defrost. All the frozen meat and goods defrosted. Owner stated he would call me back to discuss some form of compensation but never did. I've left numerous voice mails to no avail. Voice mail states calls will be returned within 24 hrs. Jode came to the house very quickly. With no exaggeration, within 1 minute, he knew exactly what was wrong with the microwave built-in unit. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. We are quite impressed. In fact, he was so knowledgeable of our particular unit (one in a million) that he was able to tell us of all the really cool features and capabilities it has, ie: it is a convection oven as well and can bake a roast in 20 minutes. Ace Appliance Repair (Jode) was sent to repair a washer by Fidelity Home Warranty. On the phone when setting up an appointment he insisted there should be an error code which there wasn't. He came to house and was argumentative about the problem. He left reported it was fixed but the next load stopped in the middle of rinse cycle. He said it was water supply problem...recommended using less detergent and powder type. When he called back 2 days later and l reported the same problem I asked if there was someone else he could send he was rude and hung up on me. I called Jode for a simple fix for my microwave ,,I just needed someone to remove the oven and replace the mounts. I thought he would be the guy for the job being as he was out here before and removed the oven replace a part and reinstalled it but I was informed he does not do this type of job?? I asked why and was told he only does repairs . (da) Once he realized it was a small job I can only guess he could not be bothered,,even though I offered to pay whatever he wanted. I had an appointment scheduled with Jodi at Ace Appliance Repair today through my home warranty service. He called to let me know that he was on his way and I told him I appreciated the heads-up so that I could put my two dogs in another room while he was here. I then asked him if he would be wearing a mask while he was in my house, he said he would not. I asked him why when he would be coming into my house during a shelter-in-place order due to the current pandemic. He replied that some people did not like him wearing a mask because they couldn't see his face. I said that I would be wearing a mask and would appreciate it if he would as well. By now, he's getting rude and said he wouldn't wear a mask, he didn't even have one because it wasn't necessary. I told him that the idea was to prevent the spread of the virus, I wear a mask to protect him, he wears one to protect me. He said I was welcome to call another company because he would not be wearing one. By this time I am floored! To be so rude and unprofessional, especially during these times. He said that the virus was almost over and seemed to think I was making a big deal about nothing. I told him we would have to agree to disagree and we hung up. I thought about it and called him back and canceled the appointment. I don't need someone who is so thoughtless, rude, and unprofessional in my house. read more

Not really understanding if the other reviews are for the same company, Ace Appliance Repair? Jode was very professional. He fixed my clothes dryer for it was taking so long to dry my clothes. He fixed my dryer, looked at my vents and recommended that I get them cleaned, and even said that a part on my dryer is also about to fail, and he ordered that part for me. He came back the following week, per agreed 3 hour window, and wala. My dryer is now sounding quite and dries in less than 40 min for full load. Jode is great and American Home Shield sent him to me as my repair guy. Hopefully, I'll get him again for future home warranty appliance calls. read more

Actually kind of pissed. Dishwasher wouldn't drain all the way and wouldn't dry the dishes all the way (whirlpool). Call the warranty peeps and I get this guy. Positive - he called when he was supposed to and even scheduled A day earlier. I explained to him what was going on and he said he would be out and check it out. 15 minutes after he was supposed to be there he called and said he was running late. I was at work and I told my son to call when he got there. 2:30 he calls and says he just got there and 2:35 he calls and say he's done - that'll be $75 please. What bugs me is when I talked to him the day before he could of asked " did you clean the air gap?" But instead I'm guessing with 17 years experience he knew he could make a quick buck and keep that question to himself. I got a bill and a card that said cleaned the air gap and use Jet Dry or use heated dry setting (which I already do the later, but I wasn't given that question by something as simple as, I don't know, maybe a phone call). Note to business owners, running a business is kind of like playing Dominoes, sometimes you have to give money to make money. In other words, if he had asked me if I cleaned the air gap and had me do it and then call if it didn't work I would have been more than happy to call him back for any other repairs I needed, but instead he chose the easy way and gave me some dumbass note about using jet dry. My understanding is that dishwashers wash and dry your dishes. Maybe it's just me. read more

Wish I could give less than 1 star. I was referred to this company by my home warranty company. I had to call him after waiting 2 weeks for a call. When he called back he was trying to diagnose my problem over the phone and told me most likely it is because I leave the stove dirty. He hasn't seen my stove and doesn't know my cleaning habits. I guess he doesn't want the work. Diagnosing a potential electrical problem over the phone can lead to serious ramifications, such as a fire. I complained to my warranty company. He came on time, got right to the problem with my garbage disposal. Fixed it right away and offered some good suggestions. I concur with others who have said they wished it was possible to give "Mr. Barry", as he referred to himself when I asked his name, 0 stars. He was rude, unprofessional, and argumentative as many reviewers have already mentioned. Based on my unpleasant experience with him I suspect the authenticity of any reviews that are positive. He was sent out to fix our microwave and dishwasher by Old Republic warranty company. He said he had to order parts. Over three week's later, he just showed up at our front door saying he had the part for the microwave and was in the neighborhood, so he wanted to come in and install it. I said fine, but when I asked about the part for the dishwasher he said he didn't order it because the Warranty company didn't approve the repair. I was confused because that didn't make any sense to me because it was part of the same work order. When I tried to question him he was dismissive and said it had nothing to do with him and I needed to contact the Warranty company. I called the warranty company while he was still at my house installing the part for the microwave and told them that the repair guy said he had received no authorization to fix our dishwasher. After checking, the representative from the warranty company and said that they had authorized fixing the dishwasher and she asked to speak with the repair person. "Mr. Barry" as I later found out was his name reluctantly took the phone and I don't know what transpired during the conversation because I couldn't hear everything that was being said on the other end. However, it was apparent that they were telling him the repair had been authorized by his responses. From that point on things went downhill fast. I asked him about how long it would take to get the dishwasher fixed since he still needed to order the part and he became defensive saying that things had only been delayed because I hadn't returned his calls when he tried to notify me that the part had come in. I told him I had never received a message from him, but when I inquired about what number he had been calling, He just said whatever number I had given him and refused to confirm whether or not he had the correct number. By this time it was clear to me that I would have no further dealings with this individual. Immediately, after he left, I called the warranty company and told them that I didn't want him to come back to my home and needed someone else to handle the issues with our dishwasher. They were very nice about it at the warranty company and even volunteered they could put this guy on some kind of "no call" list where he would not be sent out to our home for any future appliance repair issues. This was perfect because there is no way I am going to do business with this guy ever again. Not even if he is the last appliance repair person on earth. I would pick up a tool belt myself to handle my repair issues and based on my lack of skills in this area, that has disaster written all over it. But fortunately, they have many other appliance professionals they can send out who can do the work minus the bad attitude. Mr. Barry volunteered that he was the owner of this business which makes sense because if he was an employee I have no doubt he would have been fired long ago. The experience I had with him was so similar to the other reviews that It is amazing to me that this guy is able to stay in business. I cannot imagine that he has many repeat customers. I brought in my clothes washer on Friday at 3 and they replaced the clutch and related parts and had it back to me by 4:15. Gave me the broken parts and explained what they repaired. Works like new even though it's almost 10 years old. I'm glad they're around so I know where to go if I need them. Also replaced a clothes dryer with a bad motor. They have lots of good used appliances. read more
