If I could I would give Ace Repair Service AKA Elmhurst Appliance Repair, AKA Brooke Appliance Repair Zero (0) stars. I called Mike (630) 202-0899 to see if he could repair my OTR microwave and he got back to me within a few hrs. We set up the appointment and I was out in my garage at the time of the appointment when Mike (or his employee) drove up in a white van. He started to park in our cul-de-sac. When he was backing, he wasn't paying attention to our car parked on the apron of our drive, just the curbing. He backed into the front bumper of our car. Instead of checking on the damaged of our car, he just drove away. Obviously it was him that backed into my car. He never called back! He just texted me saying he wasn't going to make it today, "Maybe next week." He never texted back or called me. I called him and texted him several times. Anyone that drives off after hitting someone's car doesn't have any good principles. There was minor damage to the car. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM TO DO ANYTHING!!! I looked at his website and found he had several different companies. I then saw a different phone number for him (630) 307-8444 on his website. I wonder if he is registered with the state? I must be in the minority here. It was just ok. The dishwasher is fixed. I called them to come out to see my dishwasher and they were willing to come out on a Saturday which is great. The man showed up didn't say a word to me, didn't give me his name, looked at the dishwasher for a while and told me a needed a new part. Ok cool. He ordered the part and said he would be back Tuesday at the same time. Well it's Tuesday and he never showed up. I called him and asked what was going on and he said he didn't have the part yet. No call to tell me, nothing. So I asked when he was going to get it in and he said " i dunno, later today? Tomorrow? You home tomorrow?" I responded "i can be, what time?" " I dunno, 3? 4? 5? Our 20-year-old washing machine was leaking water from the bottom. Ace was the only company that quoted a fixed price for the repair before coming out and was about half as much as the service call fees other companies had quoted us. I was in need of my wall oven to be repaired. I googled repair services for Maytag wall ovens. The primary company that came up was Ace Appliance Service Co. I scheduled a service call with there company. Up on arrival the service tech evaluated the issued and told me that the best thing to do was to purchase a new oven and recommended a vendor. He farther stated the the part to repair was no longer being made. I stated to him that was not the truth. I gave him the part number. His concern was how did i know that. I told him I call the manufacture and gave them the error code that was popping up on the oven. The technician told the part was in stock and the price. Again his reply was I don't care what the technician told you over the phone and charged me $ 69.00 for a service call. I call Maytag back they sent one of there service tech out with part and installed the part for $ 385.00 less there $99.00 service fee. Ovev is working at 100% just like a new oven. I will never ever use your service again for any appliance repairs. The number I called was 800-200-0010. Yelped them to fix a leaking freezer. Came out in one hour on a Sunday and service was prompt and friendly. Nick the repairman was considerate and cleaned the nasty area under the fridge and even the shelves. He even saw my faucet leaking and tweaked that to fix it. Repair was thorough and reasonable cost vs. buying a whole new freezer. One of those jobs that gives you confidence that he fixed other issues that will keep it running for years to come. Unprofessional and rude. The owner Mike sends out his technicians that don't want to be there. They complained about fixing my washer and how it's difficult to work on a Samsung washer. (Get a different job?)Tech told me I would need to replace the control board assembly but they won't replace it if I buy the parts myself. Mike, the owner, on the other hand says it's fine and provides a reasonable price but does not show up for a scheduled service appt and dodges my calls. BEWARE!!! I believe this is a one man owned Handyman Shop and not a Professional Repair Business. If you go this route you're probably better going to YouTube and doing it yourself. Pricing was high, so you're not saving any money. Mike comes in and replaces what he thinks it might be and after a few days it goes back to doing the same thing you originally called him to repair and tells you will need a different part that will cost you even more . Called Ace Appliance to repair Washer that was not draining. So I understand Im paying a premium to have washer repaired, but figured it would be same day for such a standard part. The tech comes and sounds not too optimistic about the washer (I get it, and I know). But then quotes me $350 to replace the drain pump on a Kenmore Elite washer (LG). Fine, willing to pay the price for same day service. However, he didn't have the part, offered to come back next week and acted snarky when asked if he didn't carry such a part in stock. I ended up replacing the part ($40) myself...which I was able to pick up at a local store same day!, all under 40 mins. Again, I get these folks need to make a living. But would be good to be upfront on wether the repair could be done same day (when I made the appointment I offered the washer model and told them specifically it was a drain pump...if they had it in stock). read more

I recently had a very frustrating and costly experience with the ACE APPLIANCE, INC (15 American Ct. Roselle, IL 60172, phone 630-307/8444). On August 15, 2016, my electric range with an induction cooktop broke down. I found ACE Appliances on the internet and scheduled an appointment with them for August 19, 2016. After an initial inspection, their company technician insisted that I provide him with a deposit of $225 before any further work could be continued. They took my deposit and left me with a partly disassembled range. My last phone call with them was on August 30th and I was told not to call them again. The company still owes me the deposit of $225.This is the first time I have encountered a company that is so extremely rude, unqualified, and has a sense of being untouchable. When the ACE Appliance technician first arrived at my home for our scheduled appointment on August 19th; he was surprised that he was there to look at my electric range as he was under the impression that he was supposed to be looking at a refrigerator. That should have been our first red flag. I pointed out the coded error message on the range front display. The technician had an uncertain expression on his face a said that the error message didn't mean anything. He then began partially disassembling the range, then made some electrical measurements and after a series of phone calls told me the induction cook top is fine but the electronic board inside the front display panel is defective. He told me that the price of a new one is $450 and at that time insisted that we provide a 50% deposit of the cost of a new electronic board. I mentioned that on internet, people with similar problems and had paid approximately $270 for similar boards. The technician replied that for that amount of money ($270) I will only be able to get a refurbished electric board and that the decision was mine. The ACE Appliance Technician, returned on August 25th with an alleged new board. However, when he replaced the old board with the new one, the electric range showed exactly the same symptoms and displayed the same coded error message. The technician's answer was that even new electronic boards are sometimes faulty and he would have to go back and test the new board. When I asked about timing and when he was planning to return, considering my situation of not being able to cook anything, he directed me to call the company owner, Mike Ilic (630-202/0899 or 630-307/8444). I called Mike Ilic on August 29 to follow up on our next service appointment. He said that they were waiting for a new part. However, Mr. Ilic was unable to explain what new part they had ordered or provide any information on what was the approximate timing of when they would receive the part, not to mention he sounded very annoyed. We agreed that I would call him back the following day and he would have more specific answers. When I did call back on August 30, I received a rude response that the deposit amount of $225 would be returned to me next month and that he does not want me to call him again! After this horrible experience I found out from a SEARS's technician that this coded error message gives the exact location of the trouble spot. He gave me the exact opposite opinion, stating that the problem is with induction cooktop and not with alleged faulty board (electronic clock control board). Moreover, the cost of new board is not $450 but $247, quite a difference! The ACE Appliance Inc. wasted two weeks of my time. The ACE Appliance Inc. left my electrical range partially disassembled. The ACE Appliance Inc. provided an unqualified technician and gave false pricing information. The ACE Appliance Inc. continues to hold my deposit money. read more

A friend of mine recommended Mike when my refrigerator stopped working. I called Mike on a Tuesday morning around 9:00 and we scheduled a 1:00 appointment. Mike arrived an hour early, which was great, and after doing a quick inspection knew exactly what to do. He had all the tools and parts needed to fix my fridge and he completed the job within the hour. He even had the water filter I needed and replaced it on the spot. Referred by a friend to call, we called Mike that morning, said he could look at our oven by 3. It's the time of the year to bake Xmas cookies and not buy a new stove. Way too many other companies you can call that would be better then this place. They took over the company I had dealt with for years and I should have known with a name like Ace that would be a disappointment. I called them in to fix my dryer because the timer was not working. The tech came out twisted the dial and said you need a new timer. Duha! He said 2-3 weeks. (What???) he said the virus had slowed things down. I waited 4 weeks before calling back still no part. The guy in the office was a real jerk. I called back at almost 6 weeks and still no timer and no idea when it might come in. After talking to the rude guy in the office again and still no idea when my timer was coming in I went online myself and found the part at the Whirlpool part site and another site. Since Ace already had my money for my part I called them to say I found the part online figuring that they would get it themselves. But of course they wouldn't. The rude guy in the office again said the tech would call me. 2 days later I called back to see if I could get my money back if I get the part myself. The tech told me he would install it if I got it. They wouldn't try to get it but at least I could get my money back for the part. So I ordered the part and had it in less then a week. And the parts company even had the instructions to put it in. Well I put the part in myself and my dryer was back working again. What a rip off!!! And why wouldn't they get the part if I could get it? Find someone else. Then 2 weeks after I told them I got the part and installed it myself I got a check back for my deposit minus the service charge that I could have done myself. Terrible customer service! When we did, other company was rude & would charge me full price since we were out of the 30 day warranty. I called Ace Appliance and Mike came. He replaced the pump. Our experience was not at all like the other 3 reviews here. Mike from Ace Appliance Service looked at my washing machine an said just bypass the fire safety feature and direct wire the motor, warning me not to do too many loads in a row because it could catch fire. Or we could replace the motor with a new one for $200 plus $100 for the service call.. We said to replace the motor. That was March 29th. Now it's two months later, and the washing machine is doing the same thing; filling up with water, but not starting the cycle.....and then comes the smell of electrical smoke, exactly like before. I never actually saw the old motor he took out, or the new one he said he put in. I called Mike and told him that the same exact problem was reoccurring. Mike said he'd be out between 2 and 4 pm the next day. He never showed up, and he never called. He wouldn't answer my phone calls that day, nor did he return my messages. Finally, the following morning, I called from a different phone that had a different caller I.D. Mike answered this call on the first ring. I told him who was calling and asked why he never showed up for the appointment, or call me to cancel? He said he called and "nobody answered" My husband was home and waiting the entire afternoon with the phone close by. To this, Mike said, "So what? I don't care!" I asked him if he had called me, why didn't you at least leave a message? I checked our phone, and there was no call on our caller I.D. list from him. He stated, "I don't care" again, and then actually hung up on me! So $300 later, I still have the same problem, Therefore, I now have to call a reputable serviceman and spend MORE $$$ today, because Mike from Ace Appliance Service (or Inc,) in Roselle is apparently not going to stand by his work. My new personal motto from this experience is never trust a business that doesn't have any name or phone number on their truck, and never forget that Ace Appliance Service (Inc.) just "doesn't care!" Be careful. This is not a BBB accredited business. If you really want to get services from this company, don't forget to get its insurance first. I have learned my lesson in a hard way. In May, 2012, I bought a condo. The home inspector said the water heater should be replaced. Therefore, I called 630-307-8444. I used to live in an apartment and never asked such service before, so I didn't know I should get license and insurance information from this company before services. On May 29, a plumber and his assistant came to my home. This guy, Nebojsa Sajic, didn't drain properly. Water leaked to my neighbors' room. I live on the 4th floor. There are difference level damages in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor units. Especially, the unit below mine, the ceiling in the utility room burst and water shoot out. I then asked the plumber if he has liability insurance to cover the repair costs. He said no. He then asked me to call Mike Ilce, the owner of Ace Appliance Service, because his English is not good enough. I talked to Mike that day. Several days later, they came to see the damage. At first, Mike agreed to do the repair, but the condo association requested his insurance information. He was unwilling to give that information. I called Mike and Nebojsa many times, they just ignore me. Finally, the maintenance guy repaired the damage. The condo association sent me the invoice for $989. I called Nebojsa about that, but he said he didn't understand what I said, so I told Mike about that. He said he will talk to that plumber and call me back. I never get his call. I sent copies of invoices to both of them. One day, Mike said he agreed to pay $430, but so far, after a month and half, I never receive this check. He just palters with me. Nebojsa is the same.
