Very, very happy with our service call today by Tyler of Ace Chimney Sweeps. We have a side vented fireplace that we haven't used in decades. We scheduled a maintenance/clean-up visit with Ace to see if the fireplace was safe and useable. Tyler showed up on time, was very professional and courteous, and went right to work. The fireplace is working great, looks great, and we're confident again that it's operating safely. And we're very satisfied with the service charge. I had Ace come out to replace the Type B Vent (Gas) cap on the roof a few years ago I believe it was Spring of 2021--sorry I forgot to add this until now! They were great to make things right. One start knocked off because we almost had a problem. I was very clear that the home that I needed the work done on was a Town home which has 3 floors, hence taller than the average house so they'd need a proper latter and I also was clear I wanted a stainless steel cap. Issue 1- When the guy came out he was at first saying he didnt have the right sized ladder...which he should have since I went out of my way to say this with the scheduler......so that was a communication issue. 2nd issue was that he didnt have the stainless steel cap I ordered when scheduling the appointment. He did end up having someone drop off a proper ladder and the right part to get the job done. Lastly, he really should have picked up after himself...parts that went flying down the roof never got cleaned up and were all over my neighbors' yards. I picked that up. read more

Today I had Ace Chimney perform a chimney reline. The service people were Holt and I think Don. At this point I will give them one star, I tried to get my issue resolved with Stephanie but was disappointed in her response. I am however waiting for a follow up from them. They arrived on time. The first issue was that they did not wear booties and track some dirt in, no biggie, I had to vacuum today anyway. They went to work and finish quicker than I anticipated. When they were done they told me and said go ahead and take a look. I went down to the chimney and there was bright shined new pipe with the old barometric gas damper on it. Unfortunately I had paid for a new damper. I also noticed debris from the work they had performed. I pointed this out to Don and was told he would clean it up. We paid and they left. Later on when I went back down in the basement low and behold the debris were not cleaned up. As soon as I saw this I called and spoke to Stephanie. I felt like I was being given the run around. First I was asked why I didn't call earlier, we'll I called as soon as I noticed they did not clean up after themselves for a second time. I did not realize that I was dealing with kindergarteners that I had to follow up with multiple times. I thought I hired a professional company that would clean up the mess they created while performing the job. Next Stephanie tries to tell me that cleaning up after themselves was not included in the bid. Again I would think professionals would clean up after themselves and it should be standard and not something that has to be written in the contract. Really in my mind what should have happened was "oh sorry about that, we will send someone out at my (the customer's convenience". Unfortunately it was not handled that way. So the sloppiness combines with the old parts being used yet I was charged for the new parts makes me question the professionalism of Ace Chimney. As I said I am waiting for a follow up call, although it should have been addressed first when I pointed it out to the technician second when I spoke to Stephanie but it wasn't. In the event they make this right I will post an update here. Until then double check everything to ensure that you get what you paid for and the workmanship and professionalism isn't shoddy. read more

I have had multiple issues with this company after paying them 6500 to redo my chimney they have had to come back multiple times because there workers have cut corners the owner actually had to come out and supervise to make sure it was done properly and even after that the fire box has crumble after the first fire of the season...now they aren't even answering the phone I will be showing up if they continue to ghost it's just bad business practice read more

I have used Ace many times for maintenance on my wood burning fireplace. so when it was time to replace it, I figured no brainer, just contract them for the job. I wanted to replace with an electric fireplace in addition to replacing the old mantle. That would be updated to stone(all they way to ceiling) and a hearth. I had them come out to explain what I wanted and they said they could do the job. great! Date was set to start, but they had not addressed the stone wall part. I asked what was needed before they started. With little time to spare they finally told me I had to go pick out what I wanted. I asked where to get(De Brick) I found what I liked there and let Ace know. They then told me how much was needed. on time work started and in two weekends the new fireplace was in, old mantle and mirror out and hearth framed out. they came back and started work on the stone and left. I called back yo schedule to continue. I was told then that they needed the slab for the hearth before they could continue. I looked everywhere for one to fit, but found out the size hearth they put in was not stock size and was 2"" too high. I called Ace back and relayed this information. I asked if hearth could be resized to continue. I never heard back from them. They left me with 1/4 of the work done. I e mailed to ask what their thoughts were on the project and still no answer. the person who came to do the work was very un commutative and complained every time about the parking situation here. I think for simple maintenance they are fine, anything other, not. would I recommend them. No. not when the communication is bad and they feel it was okay to leave a customer with a job unfinished that they said they could do. They made an error and did not want to fix it. read more

Paid Company to install spring loaded damper on top of my chimney.in November. I suspected it was not installed properly was stuck open. I called a few days after it was installed and asked them to come back and check it. They said they would but it would be awhile. I never heard from ACE and in the spring I paid another company $150 to fix it. I called Ace after I got it fixed and they are not responding. Bad business practice. read more

Billy came to our home very promptly at the beginning of the service window I had been given when I made the appointment to have our chimney swept. He estimated 45 minutes to complete the job and was right on the money. He took photos of our chimney and fireplace and confirmed it all looked in great shape, then he cleaned everything and cleared up after him. To cap off the great service Billy deodorized the chimney, cleaned our fire guard, gave us tips about what firewood to avoid using (we had only been using good types - oak, maple and birch), and scheduled our next appointment for a year's time. Throughout the process Billy was very friendly and professional, and I have no hesitation in recommending Ace. read more

I have been using Ace for about 12-13 years now, they installed my Clydesdale woodburning insert in 2007. Their annual service and the condition of my insert have been OUTSTANDING. Despite our heavy use, thanks to Ace, the condition of our unit and chimey are excellent. Ace technicians are always prompt, polite, and respectful of my home. Billy was the visiting professional this time and, while doing the usual very thorough job of inspecting and cleaning, also went the extra mile(s) of tightening the door handle and applying a little polish to a long corroded part of the fireplace frame that was due to a cat stain. I thought there was nothing that could help that part of the frame, but Billy showed me that the polish he was suggesting would clean it up nicely and now it looks very close to new (you certainly would never notice there was an issue there unless you really tried looking for it.) Billy couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. As an organizational effectiveness consultant, I do not say this lightly, he was an excellent representative of the company and it's products/services. read more

I used Chimney Sweeps when I first bought my home a year ago, and was happy with their service. But it was a different story when my chimney started to leak a few months ago. It took me 10 weeks to get an appointment - they never answered the phone and would take 2-3 days to return calls. I am unable to answer the phone when I'm at work, so I would leave them detailed information about when I could be reached. I spite of this, they would call when I was unavailable and just leave a message saying "we're returning your call - please call us back." Finally Josh came out this week. I told him that I would be upstairs working while he was up on the roof, and asked him to give me a shout when he found the problem. Front and back doors were both open, and I had my cell phone on me. I saw him get back into his truck and figured he was writing stuff down and preparing an estimate. But then - he just left!!! He left, with no word to me, no phone call or paperwork or anything!! I called the office to find out what was going on. They called me back later that day (amazing) to tell me what he had found (loose/bent flashing), but couldn't tell me whether that was something they could repair or if I needed to call a roofer. No explanation for Josh's action. When I've used Ace Chimney Sweeps before, they always send out multiple texts and emails after a visit, asking you to rate their service. $900 later my chimney still leaks and they refuse to come back. They applied Flash Seal to both chimneys and one still leaks. They did not make any suggestions for corrective action. Lori, the office contact person, was delighted to give me the news that they would not come back out regarding, in her words, "my situation." So instead, I asked for and received a quote to remove the chimney stack. The quote at $2,557 is ridiculously high for such a small chimney. No, I would not recommend. Yes, I agree with another customer who said they just want your money. Definitely stay away from this company. Ace Chimney Sweeps is not your friend no matter how they sign their correspondence. I wished I had read the negative reviews before hiring this company. I found that another unhappy customer had received the below response from the owner. The owner seems "totally" concerned with their own personal issues as they relate to the business instead of the customer. Plus the excuses, lack of accountability, and complete unprofessional response. Wow, just "totally" wow! "Rex I am so sorry over this experience. The technician Billy was let go for recently for unauthorized use/ driving our company van while drunk after work hours. He totally crashed his van into one of the other technicians vans so we are two vans down because of him. I'm not sure what demons popped up in his life he always got good reviews form clients. Something went wrong in him and now we are doing our best to clean up after him so to speak. I will follow up with my staff and get this corrected as i am just getting back from Ohio on a business trip. I will have one of our comfort advisers contact you and get this right for you. I am so sorry. Our area is very difficult to find good people because of the drugs and alcohol abuse that is rampant. We drug test and do back ground checks Billy slipped through the cracks, He was clean when we hired him. We are pressing charges against him for his actions against our company and maliciously damaging two of our vans." read more

Very professional! Prompt and efficient. I've been using Ace for years! Techs were able to explain everything right and wrong with chimney/fireplace. I love the fact that they don't push you into getting them to fix minor problems that you can do yourself, they even tell you how to fix the issue! I have a more complex problem and they were able to give me a fair ballpark price on the fix. Scheduling has never been an issue. read more

On December 3rd I had a scheduled chimney cleaning at my home. The cost for the cleaning was $239.00, which apparently is top dollar. There was a advertised price of less the next day on Ace's website. The cleaning took all of 15 minutes, which was fine. However, the Technician did not take off his shoes or use booties. This resulted in dirt being tracked all over my living room carpet. I asked about the dirt and the Tech informed me to contact the office which I did. After many calls and messages I heard back from Rick in the office and was told I would receive a refund. Later that day I was contacted by Stephanie in the office and was told I would not receive a refund, she would get back to me. That was one week ago and have not heard back. I would very much not recommend Ace Chimney Sweeps, too costly and extremely unprofessional. read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Ace Chimney Sweep over-charges for their services. The "technician" swept 2 chimneys and removed an old gas line. He was at my residence under 4 hours and charged $821.00. At $205 per hour, this company should be avoided to say the least. Only after questioning the charges with the management, they admitted that the technician had entered his time "incorrectly". They still insisted that after making the "mistake" that the price should only be reduced by $200. I'M REFUSING TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY THIS COMPANY. SO SHOULD YOU. read more

I called Ace Chimney Sweeps because my Fireplace Cap had rusted off and was in pieces on the lawn. Ashley in the office answered the phone professionally, knew what she was talking about and did a great job explaining Ace and determining if they could assist with my issue or not. She scheduled the service for Thursday, on Thursday morning she called to say that the rain may be a problem (hard driving rain) and asked if they could do the job the next day. The next day the technicians came out, were super friendly and took care of the issue right away. They did not try and sell me on any upgrades or things I didn't need. Shortly after the job was complete, Ashley sent an electronic invoice, which I called and paid over the phone immediately. 3 minutes later I had a receipt in my inbox! Received a call from the tech when he was on the way. He arrive right on time. He was courteous and friendly. He left the area clean. He discussed what he found while cleaning the chimney. I would have rated him 5 stars but the one thing that he did not do that other Ace sweeps had done in the past was to show me photos of what they found during the cleaning process. I did not consider this to be that big a deal since he said there was not much of a creosote build up. I like the way Ace is proactive and scheduled my next cleaning for 2018. For Christmas I got my daughter's chimney cleaned. All went well. Today she woke up to a loud noise! With all the wind them chimney cap had blown out of the chimney and just missed hitting her car in the driveway. She called to see if they could come and reinstall the cap. They said it's not their problem. My daughter said you were the ones that took it off to clean it and must have not fastened it down tightly. They said they would be glad to come out and put it back up for an additional charge. Think twice before using this company! The customer service after you pay the bill is horrible. read more
