I first hired them for a heater maintenance check and tune-up and Rich Griner took the time to explain everything was doing and educated me about preventive maintenance. Today I had Rich back to check the AC (an AC that Air Temp Solutions was always trying to upsell me on parts and services before I switched), he gave it a tune-up and made sure it was running. Alex Skolfield came to my tenants' home where they said the 2nd floor was not getting much cold air, and he spent an hour adjusting levers on the ductwork, and educating us on how to make sure the HVAC runs efficiently in the summer and winter. I have never had HVAC technicians who took the time to educate me (for free) and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. These guys are amazing - such integrity. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! A few months ago, I called Done Right Plumbing for a clogged sink. The technician barely looked at the job for 30 seconds before giving me what I felt was an outrageous quote. After I posted a review, the owner contacted me and made things right, so I changed my review and decided to give the company another chance. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I recently had an emergency and needed my sewer ejector pump replaced. The technician quoted me $3,571 just to replace the existing pump with a new one. I had already agreed to the replacement when he came back and told me the owner wanted to replace all of the existing piping as well because they said a 2-inch line was needed to meet current code. I said no--and thank God I did. I found the same pump at Harbor Freight for $119. I called another plumber, who installed it in about 45 minutes and charged me $250 for the installation. My total cost: $369. Done Right's quote: $3,571. Difference: $3,202. I understand that businesses need to make a profit and that emergency plumbing work isn't cheap, but there is a huge difference between $369 and $3,571 for the same basic pump replacement. I gave this company a second chance after the owner made things right the first time. After this experience, there will not be a third. read more

Total cheats. A capacitor for a heat pump costs $9 online - the most common reason your heat or a/c stops working. So easy to replace a 76-year-old woman could do it. But the reason Done Right cheats old women is that we do our homework AFTER they rip us off. Done Right's guy Joshua Smart charged $755. Then tried to sell me a $720 blue light to "fight mold". BE MINDFUL. I thought I was calling Verizon (recommended), but the computer redirected to Done Right. They probably paid for that. read more

Done Wrong Plumbing - Buyer beware. I had them do work at my 85 year old mother's house. Always ask them for a detailed estimate in advance with hourly rate, time estimate and cost for parts when applicable. They repaired a leak under the master stall shower and when completed the floor of the shower now flexes and makes loud noise both in the shower and throughout the first floor of the house. This was not happening prior to their work. When I addressed the issue they sent out a rude tech who said if it is not leaking then it is not their problem. They charged $892 to put a fernco rubber boot on and cut a hole in the drywall to access. Invoice stated $128 to cut the drywall and not replace and $764 for plumbing. I asked for hourly rate and they refused to provide. Believe me you will "breath much easier" by choosing an ethical and better qualified plumber. You have been warned. read more

I knew I was in trouble when the guy got here and immediately started the sales pitch on "how to protect my beautiful home." $800 to install a vanity is too high. Installed whole-house, smart water shut-off, replaced two older hose bibs AND bypassed them around the house water filter system, plumbed a condensate drain into the basement ejector pump basis and resealed it - and replaced the elector pump check valve. I wish I would have checked these reviews before hiring this company. They were horrible. I see now that I wasn't the first person to be done wrong by Done Right Today. It seems soaking people (pun intended) is what they do. My experience with them is very similar to other reviews here. I needed a new holding tank (bladder), and the electronics for my well. We did not have water at the time. I had another company come out and give me an estimate of $2,500. When I looked up the job online, it gave an estimate for parts and labor to be somewhere between $1,000 to $2,500. Obviously, that estimate was at the highest range. I found these guys and I saw that they proudly displayed "affordable" in their advertisements. Why not get an estimate from them?--it was free. The guy came out and almost immediately started to ask me about my pump. Mind you, my pump was replaced three years ago, brand new. After checking everything out, he had the audacity to give me a quote of over $3,800, and of course, a separate quote of nearly $7,000 to also replace my pump, that I didn't need. I told him, no, and that I already had a quote of $2,500. So, he said, "hold on, let me call my boss. I know he wants to keep me working today." He did a little BS call to his boss. He said it was to his boss. For all I know, it was to "Scammers R Us" to renew his company's subscription. Anyway, I felt like I was buying a used car. "Good news," he said. He can match the other quote. You know when a company is willing to drop a price over $1,300 just because you said you were quoted a better price elsewhere, without showing any paperwork or anything, you know they are trying to rip you off. Like I said, we had no water and we were in a bind. I'm sure that is the kind of customer that this company loves. He could do it that day, so I said, go ahead. He gets it done after a while. He then says, "your pump is overheating and will probably quite working soon." He continued, "I can give you a discount on replacing the pump today." Isn't that nice, a discount on a pump that doesn't need replacing. I declined his offer. He spent more time with his "pitch" than what I'm indicating but you get the gist. He finally left. We almost immediately started having water issues. Clearly, the problem wasn't a faulty pump. The pump was pumping fine. The faucets were spiting air, and they would completely stop at times from being air locked. I did some research and I found out that when you change the holding tank, you need to bleed the air out of the pipes. He did not do that. I know that he didn't do that because that would have required interaction with me to turn on faucets and flush the toilets. He obviously did this on purpose to be able to come back, after I wouldn't do it on the spot, and sell me a pump that I didn't need, for $2,500. Beware of this company. read more

Was supposed to replace sewer line from foundation wall to street. Scoped line to determine pathway. Tore up brick patio, jack hammered garage floor and cut out asphalt driveway to access line. Turns out they couldn't access area under crawl space/addition so didn't do that area at all, jackhammered wrong area of garage floor and ripped up wrong area of driveway. They tore up all those areas but only replaced line in brick patio area, LIED about replacing line from garage/driveway to street and NEGLECTED to hook kitchen drain line back into the section under patio that they did replace....causing water leakage through foundation wall from unconnected kitchen drain line! After MANY calls they finally came out and hooked up kitchen line. Very long story but ends up they knew they had problem employees not performing work properly but kept using them. Ultimately they came out to re jack hammer and rip out my newly repaired driveway and run line to street. Ryan promised to pay for repairing driveway this time and send me check for my troubles, HASN'T DONE EITHER . That was 6 weeks ago. This is our go-to plumbing company. We have used them for several issues over the years. Most recently was today. The pipe rusted and broke right above the shower head, causing it to fall on my husband's head in the shower and rendering the shower unusable. They initially wanted to cut a hole in the wall in the hallway for easy access the pipes, but that would have been a mess! They then said that while they couldn't guarantee that it would work, they could attempt a repair through the little hole in the shower wall using special tools. We would be responsible for a diagnostic fee of 80-something dollars if not successful, or a repair cost of 270ish dollars if it works. It was a success! And we are so happy. These guys always get the job done. Appointments are always available quickly and they arrive promptly at the promised time. They also make quick work of things. We've previously used them for installation of a new in-sink garbage disposal and to repair a leaky outdoor spigot where the garden hose connects. We'll definitely keep using them, but are hoping that we don't need them too often. read more

My guess is good reviews are from shills. They said there would be no charge for an inspection of my tankless hot water heater. The guy pulled out the magic water testing kit and told me how toxic my water is and I need a new hot water heater and a filtration system. $13,800.00 I declined the filtration system to new hot water heater $7,000,00. When I did not agree he sat and glared at me for a while, then charged me $88.00 for diagnostics. Fifteen minutes later he talked to his boss and came back, the price was down to $5,000.00 Retail price for the new hot water heater is $1,750. Installation requires: for removal turning four valves, undoing 3 union nuts, unplugging the 110. Disconnecting a vent clamp, unscrew from the wall. Replacement, screw it to the wall, connect the vent, tape and connect the 2 union nuts, plug it in and turn four valves. Less than an hour's work for any apprentice plumber. read more
