We found this business via eBay -- their eBay username is diamondten. I have never been to their store, or anywhere in the whole midwest actually. They list a lot of very affordable jewelry on eBay and their website. I found the perfect antique Art Deco filigree ring in their eBay store and BF ended up winning it! After we received it, he took it to a local jeweler (see my review for J Sahadi Jeweler) to have it checked out and sized. I could see an inclusion that was definitely not visible in the photos online (it really depends what exact angle you are looking from), but the description online did list the cut and clarity accurately. It was all documented in two official docs from EGL and AGS. Then the jeweler told us it was actually 18K and not platinum as the listing described, and we asked the eBay seller what the deal was. They apologized and said it was a mistake because nearly every single one of the antique rings they sell are platinum and this one got labeled wrong. They offered a full refund including shipping, but I wanted to keep it, so now we have worked out an agreement for a discount on a future purchase instead. Very responsive and accommodating customer service. After we got the appraisal, we saw that it was valued around triple what BF paid for it online! So, platinum or not, that definitely made us happy. Because when I came a few months ago another man at this exact establishment gave me an estimate.. I just wasn't ready to sell to at the time and was looking to see how much it's worth. This place is awful, the customer service is terrible! I realize taking a piece of jewelry purchased elsewhere in for repair isn't the best idea, but I took my ring in that I received as a gift to be fixed today. The gemstone had fallen out. Upon waking in I was greeted and told to have a seat while I wait in an entirely empty store, after 5 minutes I heard a woman loudly complaining about having something in her eye to another employee, this convo went on for another 5 minutes while I and another woman now waited, after she finished with her eye problem she finally came to the floor to help me. my ring was a simple square pink diamond in a white gold setting with tiny diamonds on the band, one I wore everyday for over a year, she takes one glance at it and tells me there's no way that stone came out of that setting.... When I assured her that it had seeing as I've been wearing it non stop, she told me it wasn't possible and to take it back to where I got it or they could rebuild a new one... She handed it back to me and went on to the next woman... She made me feel like I was trying to get away with something and made me feel as if I was being dishonest when all I wanted was a repair.. Inherited my grandfathers watch, have in the past patronized Ace lets move forward was told watch would have to be sent out to Rolex repair and cost would be very high you think Rolex. Proceeded to Korvettes in Dearborn on Warren, explain to them what Ace stated was not the case. My grandfather was blind therefore it is a dual watch, the watch isn't made in the USA, that I did not know until reputable Korvettes mentioned it. Nevertheless thank you to Yelp and reviews, I'm done also, 27 years ago Ace was ran like a company that valued their customers, those times have obviously changed. Ace Jewelers is a very nice store to purchase engagement/wedding rings from. They specialize in diamonds and have a medium sized store with other things as well. Their selection of engagement rings are very one of a kind and unique, unlike the cookie cutter big chains. Their customer service is ok, it really depends on who you work with. My favorite salesman Hugh, left the sales floor and is now behind the scenes, so I've dealt with some of the others and they go from "ok" service to "b****y" service. The prices you can't beat though and the quality of their work is the best! They can take a small idea and create a beautiful piece of jewelry. They have their own repair shop in the store. I would recommend them. If they had better customer service, they would be the very best, but I grin and bare it because I know the quality of the product is there. And they really will do anything to make the you happy on a custom piece, even if it means starting over from scratch. read more

In 15K transaction I had on eBay for a diamond from ACE DIAMOND JEWELERS in Michigan that turned out not to be what was described and seller was very deceitful and disrespectful, he made 38 harassing calls and when I occasionally pick up he will cuss me out this is after he refused to refund the item and shipping cost, I left him a negative feedback. eBay immediately removed the negative feedback for him and in turn enabling him to continue his deceitful practice. I was careful to spot and discover seller's deceitfulness but many more may not be so lucky. When I called eBay they cited that my history of occasional leaving feedback prompted them to do so. Horrible. If I could give zero stars it would still be too generous of a review. My husband bought my wedding jewelry and three other pieces of jewelry at ace over the last 15 years. My engagement stone felt loose so I brought it in for a check. On inspection, one of the prongs was broken. I was told I could have the prong fixed for $35. I paid to have it fixed and it broke a few weeks later. Again, I brought it in and was told by the jeweler he would fix it for $50. I asked why there was a discrepancy in costs seeing it was the same fix each time and also why wasn't this cost covered since I had purchased the ring from them and it had been less than five years. They told me it was because I was rough with my ring and that they can't keep a business open if they had to fix all of their jewelry for free. I refused to pay for another repair and am in the process of seeking a new jeweler. Based on some of these other reviews, I'm almost afraid of what a new jeweler might discover. read more

I have had multiple poor experiences with this jeweler. Unfortunately my husband insists upon returning. My wedding ring was bought from this store and after wearing it for a few hours three stones fell out. When I returned to the store to have it fixed and sized they informed me the large stone was loose as well and that they would order me a new ring in the correct size instead of resizing the broken one. I was told it would take one to two weeks and the timing was quite a bit longer, upon finally returning to pick up my "new" ring, the place where the diamonds had fallen out appeared to be reinforced as if they just resized my old ring and fixed the spot where the diamonds had fallen out. This would have been totally fine with me if they had not lied to me about replacing the ring in its entirety and taking over three weeks to replace it. On to my next experience, my husband wanted to surprise me with a band, the sales woman was insistent that she recalled my ring and this band would match perfectly however if I needed to exchange the band or size it that would be possible. I called to check about exchanging the ring and getting the correct size and was informed that he was never told that was a possibility and all of the sales are final. I am beyond frustrated with this store and I would not recommend shopping here to anyone. read more

Very dissapointed in the customer service. I broke my finger a year ago, & their jeweler cut if off assuring me that it could be fixed. A year later Ace (managers included) tell me that they have no idea who cut my ring off and that it can't be fixed. Pretty much called me a liar. They offered to remake it for me for a huge price ($5k) or buy an upgraded ring. How convenient for them! I left in tears, took it to a experienced jeweler who gladly repaired it for me with a laser and said it was a very simple repair. Ace told me "your rings are trash". I'm so glad I had another person look at them, because now I have my beautiful "trash" back on my hand for only $100 repair. He also informed me that a lot of my diamonds have been switched out for CZ. Ace is the only place I have taken my ring too to replace lost diamonds. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!
