I originally left a glowing 5-star review for this shop because Brian, the Asian owner, offers to give freebies in exchange for one. He bribes people for reviews. However, my last two trips have been terrible at this shop and I gotta be honest. The prices here are extremely high--30-50% more than what you'll find at Big5, Turner's, or Best Tackle for identical gear. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but not when I'm made to feel rushed, unwelcome, and overcharged. Brian, the owner, follows customers around the store as if he assumes they'll steal from him. The guy isn't friendly. He offers no help or advice. He rushes you. And the prices here are downright ridiculous. Take your business elsewhere. A great tackle shop should offer respect, trust, and fair pricing--none of which this place delivers anymore. Went in to fix my telescopic rod but he insisted to repair it his own way when we wanted it to be repaired differently. With that, I ended up having a $350 broken rod! Don't get your rods fixed over here. Go somewhere else! read more

Customer service could improve... Walked in to buy an $800 reel. Young employee had the stereo blasting. I asked a few questions about two or three reels and it became clear that customers were stupid and a waste of time for this kid. He is the son of the older guy who works there. I asked him to show me a reel and he said something to the effect of "you can see them through the glass." I'm not exactly sure what he said over the loud music. I told him I couldn't hear him. It's worth mentioning he was wearing a mask and he was muffled and to please turn the music down. He told me that he does not turn music down here, does not answer questions and I can't see any reels All I want to do is buy a reel and I held up a money clip with over $1200. I was looking for a local fresh water shop and found that there were very few and mostly had salt water gear. I found this place and decided to check it out despite some of the negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to find a store that had plenty of gear for both fresh and salt water fishing with reasonable prices and a wide assortment of brands. I had a couple of reels re-spooled and while they were getting serviced, I had a chance to look around. I picked up a few items I normally only find in Mammoth or other specialty shops. The gentleman that helped me was friendly and knowledgeable, I was in and out pretty quickly and will return soon to get more gear. I had no problems getting information either over the phone or in person so perhaps the earlier problems were resolved. Although I go in for the gear, not for emotional support. Hubby wanted to check out 2 fishing store in Gardena. The first store was our 2nd time visiting and wasn't happy with the customer service so we went to check out Ace Fishing Tackle. The place was decent size and organized with merchandise. The lighting was a little dark. Ace staff were really friendly and helpful. They helped out my husband with all the stuff he needed and some fishing advise. One thing in common with Ace staff and husband had was they both know the guys from Lucky Craft. One down side is that parking space is small and limited. At the time there was only one parking space next to the building. read more

First off if he's watching like a hawk he probably is experiencing a lot of theft. So, don't blame the guy for trying to keep his inventory safe. This place was very chill at first but the prices skyrocketed, service suffered, and they watch you like if you are a crook. I have gone to better fishing shop like Delamo fish and tackle. I really try to avoid this place... WARNING! I don't recommend you to take your reels for repair. The damaged the bolts and nuts by over tightening them with a power drill. REALLY stupid! If I wanted my stuff damaged, I could of done it myself at home. I would be very careful with these guys with any of my gear.... My siblings wanted to fish for their first time and the guy with the glasses made their experience horrible. My sister was grabbing something that we were going to pay for and he came up to a 7 year old to take it out of her hands he followed us and watched us like a hawk. I am an actual customer, with an HONEST review. Carlos is cool. I shop there, and don't notice if I am being watched for lifting or not. They are in Gardena for *&^$%-sake. Shop lifting is not on my itinerary. I get in, get what I need, and get out. They seem to really want to increase their business. I respect that. When they increased the shop sizes, the prices correspondingly increased. 20 cents more for Perch-crack? I'll cope. They honestly seem to want to please the customer. This place is awesome, they are 5 min away from me! I just noticed them one day looking up on google for any other tackle shop than the ones I usually hang out at. He had a nice selection of Phenix rods and all the good reels you need to catch anything in the ocean ;). He knew I was a new customer and gave me a great deal on a new rod! Brain is a stand up guy, took his time explain to me differences in rod/ reel setups; Allowed me to test a few rods and the best part of my experience was that I never felt obligated or compelled to buy anything. I let him know the equipment I already had for an upcoming tuna trip outta San Diego and he let me know I was cool with the gear I had already, very honest guy. I walked into this shop ready to spend $$$... need a new setup.. poll, reel everything . The Japanese man with glasses working here had the absolute worse attitude and condescending tone.
