ET is filled with the most killer selection of things for every budget. My kids are new to surfing, so we're all still learning what's necessary and what isn't in terms of gear. What is immediately apparent once you walk into ET is just how much every single employee there genuinely wants to help you out however you need. There's zero pushy sales bs, and nothing but genuine interaction. We ended up getting a Ripcurl spring suit, some Sticky Bumps, and checking out their huge selection of boards. I was anxious to get a "real" board, but the guy helping us was kind enough to tell me to slow my roll. My kids are on Wavestormers and still getting a feel for it, and the guy suggested not to rush them past that stage. Much appreciated advice, and it means I am 1000% coming back to ET when they *are* ready for new boards. This is an awesome shop! After recently getting into skateboarding, I came here in December with my brother looking for a complete. When I walked in, they had an entire wall of different skateboard decks to choose from. to the right of the entrance once you walk in, they have an entire surfing section, and in the top floor they have a bunch of snowboarding stuff The guys at the counter were super cool and helped us find the right size and parts we needed. Shoutout to Dylan, who was super helpful and kind while we searched for the right boards, and even gave us shop stickers! My favorite surf shop! It's been a while since I came by but I needed more surf wax and knew ET was the way to go. The staff at ET is really friendly, helpful, and positive. They are not your douchey commercialized surf shop. They also are very responsive on the phone if you have any questions. Even years back, I had some questions regarding their wetsuits and surfboards and they really take the time to help me out in-person and over the phone. ET is well-known among surfers and is trustworthy. Prices are fair and competitive. It is super rare and unheard of to discount wetsuits/ have sales for wetsuits but they do here at ET! The workers here are very knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. I came here hoping to fix a gaping whole where my leash plug in was for my surfboard. One of the workers, Dan, was able to find a leash plug that was a perfect fit and helped me pick a leash. He was very patient in explaining to me how to put the leash in and gave me a lot of advice. Still the best surf shop in all of the South Bay and probably all of California. Knowledgeable shapers, and if you're more of dry land man get a customer skate made for the best price I've seen anywhere. My dad took me here to get my first skateboard made at the age of 10 and the guy behind the counter that walked me through it and put it together for me was none other than wee man himself Jason Acuna (this was 30 years ago). Even though he doesn't work behind the counter anymore don't be surprised if you run into him or another one of countless pro surfers/skaters since most of them still go there for supplies or just to bs with each other. Great selection of wetsuits and clothes, sunglasses, shoes etc. Cheapest prices for name brands anyone could recognize and they carry other stuff you can only get in California and some you can only get in Hermosa Beach! Highly recommend this spot for a myriad of reasons, not to mention you are supporting a local owned and operated family business which is reason enough for me to spend money somewhere. Also the staff never makes you feel unwelcomed or treats you like a kook like most of these places do. Today, I surprised my daughter for her birthday by bringing her to h this local skate store. The decision of coming here was based from the Yelp reviewers . We were not disappointed! Talk about excellent service coming from Sonny and the rest of the crew. Our daughter was a beginner. Sonny helped my daughter patiently put together a skate that is best for her needs. He did not push anything for her to decide, rather give her different options to choose from during her skate assembly. Some pointers and tips helped her too. My son had a great time shopping for pants as well. They have various other outdoor services such as surfing, roller blades, and bike. Love this place - ET Surf (and I don't even surf or skate)! My kid wanted a new skateboard and was directed to Zumiez in the mall. Nope, I shop local small business whenever possible and ET Surf got the nod. We dropped in after a killer workout at our local 9Round Hermosa just down the street and "Pops" asked if we needed help. After a few moments of showing us decks, my kid chose one and magic began to happen. Not only did Pops gather the goods, but he assembled the skateboard with pro-precision, skill and without taking all day. Lots of great gear, cool staff and fair prices. I called to confirm they had that board in stock and not only did they have that board, they had duplicates of every size and multiple colors / constructions. ET Surf is hands down the best surf shop in the South Bay. Having grown up here, many trips have been made over the years for clothes, boards, shoes, etc. I have kept coming back not only for the huge selection of surf/skate/snow gear and clothes, but more than anything the service. All of the staff is extremely helpful and there is just a very positive vibe to their interactions and they are authentically nice people. I was in store yesterday for some snow gear to get ready for a Big Bear trip. I believe it was Dan who helped me out. He helped me through the whole process as I picked out goggles, helmet, and snowboard pants. Trying on many different pairs of the goggles. I got home and realized the goggles were not right, came back and Dan patiently went through the process of helping me with more goggle try ons. This location rocks, true skate, surf, and snow store for people who appreciate these sports. The staff is all world, they got my daughter set up with her first true skate deck to compliment her off the rack Penny Board. We actually built around a skate deck and trucks that she was gifted. We got great assistance and advice from Braden/Bradon (BJA) who got us set-up and ready to roll. We got new wheels and bearings which work great for her skill level. I have been coming here for years and have finally gotten around to writing a review. First of all, despite being primarily a surf shop, E.T surf also has snowboards, roller skates, and skateboards along with gear associated with all of those sports. So if you're looking for any of those things, drop in to E.T. One of the things I love about E.T is that they're family owned and they really take the time to know the pulse of the community. Case in point is that they recently started stocking Impala roller skates, so if you're looking for some roller skates I haven't seen them anywhere else in the area. They also now have e-bikes too. The store is two stories and laid out really thoughtfully. It doesn't have the generic corporate feel that all of the mainstream corporate stores have. I love even just walking around and browsing without anything in mind. If you appreciate surf shops you'll love walking around here. The thing that really sets E.T apart from all the other surf shops though is that as a family owned store, the service here is second to none. Any time you come in here all of the staff will be not just friendly but will go above and beyond to help you out. What actually prompted me to finally write a review for here is that I bought a Carver skateboard here and was having some problems with the trucks. They have skate shop area at the front with all sorts of tools/nuts/bolts etc for skateboard. The guy not only helped me out with the Carver, but I also brought in another board (that I didn't buy at ET) I was having problems with and he helped me out with that too. Of course I can't write this review without talking about wetsuits. Wetsuits are a big pain in the butt to put on and take off and when you're not in the water they get HOT. E.T is the only place I've ever been to that has air conditioned changing rooms specifically for trying on wetsuits. If you're looking for a wetsuit this is the place to go. They also have a great selection to choose from. Lastly, E.T prices cannot be beat. They pride themselves on having the lowest prices of anywhere and seriously, even online you won't find a better deal. I got my Carver for 200 bucks and the exact same model is $220 online. Oh yea, the E.T merch is all super cool. I highly recommend checking out the hats and shirts, they have really cool designs. Support local! read more
