I they also gave me a free AC check up. Dude was nice and seemed knowledgeable in his field but he showed my my fan motor and blower motor amps that they were drawing and what they were rated for. They were within operating limits but he suggested I replace them. Then proceeded to tell me that replacing them would last for maybe a month a year and then they would be done. So he tried to sell me a brand new AC unit for 16K. When these people come out for a "free" inspection of whatever you have them look at, just remember they are going to tell you that something needs repairs and it's going to be a lot of money! Most shit you can watch a quick YouTube video and do it yourself for less than half the price. Don't fall for their tricks! read more

We contacted ACE Home Services to check our AC system and install a hot water pump. Robert Mitchell came out to do the inspection and immediately said that because of the age there will likely be something wrong with them... sure enough one was leaking with irreplaceable parts and the whole unit required replacing. We opted to replace both units so as not to have to go through this for a long time, a $15,000 bill. Robert told us what we were having installed and then proceeded to attempt to upsell us home air purifiers and new vents ( which a quick text to my real estate agent confirmed is of no real value to your home... but if it makes you feel better, get it). Robert then walked us through the process of the work to be completed. While discussing the units coming in and out of the closet attic access, we specifically asked if we needed to remove our clothes from the closet. Robert stated "No, my guys are super clean and will plastic off your clothes. Just remove the dressers".. which we did. Upon installation day, a crew arrived and immediately got to work. My husband noted a drop cloth going upstairs and assumed the clothes would be covered. Upon going upstairs to check on the work, he found that our clothes had not been covered with plastic and were covered in dirt and insulation. My husband then asked The supervisor about the clothes not being covered. The supervisor said "they don't do that". So my husband asked why he didn't inform him of that when he saw the clothes in the closet. The supervisor replied "Well, I got here after the started the work and I would have told you to move them if they hadn't already started the work". Multiple workers saw we had clothes in the closet before starting their work, not one had the courtesy to tell my husband they might get damaged. They were only concerned about get the job done quickly. My husband told me about the damage. I was then contacted by Adrian who apologized for the problem and that it shouldn't have happened and said she would send us a $50 gift card to apologize. $50 is not going to clean all of the clothes that were destroyed. I contacted Robert later that week who seemed shocked at the outcome, especially since he, personally told us not to remove the clothes. He forwarded me to Norm who told me to keep track of how many loads of laundry we did and the dry cleaning receipts and He would take care of it. I told him I was going out of town and it would be up to a month before I could get that all to him. He agreed and told me not to worry about it. Upon getting back to cellphone service, I received a call from John in Quality Assurance concerning that I hadn't gotten back to them with receipts and that he sent out the $50 gift card to cover it. After phone tag I got ahold of him and told him that Norm said he would cover the loads of laundry we did. John said he could only cover receipted items and to get him receipts for dry cleaning over the $50. As far as the hot water pump goes, I was contacted by Dwayne who recommended the type of water pump and to call him when we got it, he then called me again to see what we wanted to do about the water pump, which I told him it hadn't come in yet and I would call him to schedule the install as soon as it sits.. per our previous conversation. When I received the pump I scheduled with Dwane to have it installed between 7 and 11 on the same day we were having the AC inspected. When getting the confirmation for the AC inspection I asked about the Plumber and they said between 11 and 1. Robert called to find out when he would be there and Dwayne said soon. Dwayne never showed that day and instead called to reschedule. Another technician completed the installation on the day we had our AC installed. I don't recommend ACE Home Services for any repair work. We were going to have them return to install more insulation in our attic and a few other items, now I wouldn't let them come near my property. ACE only cares about the quick sale and installation. Not about care for the customers property or righting wrongs. Update 6/2/2019 in response to ACE's Reply: Unfortunately a gift card of less than .1% of what we spent with your company toward the costs of cleaning hundreds of dollars worth of clothes (not to mention the epic waste of my time) does not come close to rectifying the situation. If that is the best of your abilities, it confirms that your customer service department is as incompetent as the installers who created problem. By the way, the damage to the scuttle hole was much worse than what was quoted by Robert as apparently his measurements for the new units were based on the old unit size (according to Adrian). The damage was to all four sides, rather than just the one and required much more money, time and materials to repair the damage. read more

First I want to commend ACE Home Services for being the first company we could find that was willing to come to our home in the same day, and not make us wait!! Our AC went out in the middle of the night after two days of 115 degree temperatures, I spent the majority of the morning calling AC companies to find out if someone could come to my house same day. ACE was the first company that said they could. In addition to being able to do same day the lady in the office called and said the techs would be to my home in about 40 mins, they actually arrived at my home in 30 minutes, another plus in my book. The techs also did an amazing job of breaking the bad news to me that I needed a whole new unit (which I had a feeling was going to be the case), so we sat down and picked out a new unit and a new thermostat. They also were quick to get the old unit patched up for it to last a couple more days until they could come out and hook up the new unit. The day of the install I received a phone call saying the techs would be to the house around 9:00am, they actually arrived early again (still a major plus in my book), they got to work and kept on working and had everything installed, hooked up and running with in a few hours. The guys were very clean and friendly. Aside from having a nice new whisper quite unit I never would have known the techs had been in my house or in my backyard, because they were that clean. Yeah ok, well over 2 years later it is still working great and I've even had two other companies confirm it is in excellent condition when they came out for annual tuneups. I will definitely NEVER use this horrible company for any of the 8 properties I own. I will never use or recommend ACE home services. They are crooks. There are thieves with more business ethics. I had ACE install an A/C unit on my roof with a clearly stated 10 year parts warranty. After 7 years, the units' blower motor quit working I called the company to repair it, under the assumption it would only be a labor cost because all the parts are covered. An ACE tech came out for $89 diagnosed the blower motor and then came a $1600 invoice for a service plan and a bunch of lies explaining ACE "cannot touch the unit without a service plan." My Trane unit is also supposed to be registered for the manufacturers warranty and I never got any info on that and ACE's paperwork clearly stated it was covered. After a couple second opinions, I will never use ACE and they're blatant lies and sub par workmanship. The HVAC company that did come fix my motor found a huge air leak associated to the install. ACE still owes me a blower motor and I owe everyone thinking about using them this review: NEVER CALL ACE! read more

We placed a call to Ace because our air conditioning was not working correctly and they had a technician (Ron) come out on the same day we placed the call which was amazing. Every place else we called was not available to help us same day. Ron did an amazing job at helping us understand what was going on with our air-conditioning units he was very professional. A few weeks back, I had a technician come out bc one of my AC units weren't working. The tech was a nice guy but clearly is working on how much he sells. He spent a ton of time at the house looking over the unit and creating quotes for new units and the repair. He pushed hard for us to get new units, basically making it sound like repairing possibly might not work and we'd be out that money anyway so might as well replace. Quote for just repair $3,500. Unit was not running when he left and he also told us we had mold in our unit. We planned to do the repair, but at the last minute decided to get second opinion. Another company came out and got our unit running THAT DAY. Told us a fuse was blown and everything else was in working order ... $65!!!! No mold either btw. I was so appalled that ACE was so dishonest and trying to weasel so much money out of us. What a terrible terrible company and I will absolutely never use them or recommend them to anyone. read more

So these guys came out yesterday to give me a free "nice to meet you" inspection after they supposedly bought out my previous AC company I used for yearly maintenance. The guy wasn't here 5 minutes and had just barely seen my AC and already was trying to hint at me needing to replace it with newer unit. My existing unit is a 15 yr old Trane packaged unit on the roof. It does use the R22 which is being phased out but until this point I have had no issues. I have been here almost 4 years and had the other company come out yearly (and even during pre-purchase inspection before I bought the home) and that guy has told me every time that the unit is doing great and no issues at all. So, after all the scare tactics to try and get me to get a new AC unit, I settle on a free 2 yr service agreement where I think they come out every year and look at the unit and maybe clean it. It was free, so hey - why not. Well, today I came home and the house was chilly. I had the thermostat turned off. It said it was 62 in the house. I thought maybe because its so chilly outside?? Then I notice that the AC is blowing cold air. The thermostat is off. I briefly think that because the Nest has the Airwave mode maybe its circulating air. But its turned off. So then since it's 62 in the house, I turn the heat on to 68. An hour later, it's 71 in the house and still blowing hot. I turn the thermostat down to 67 thinking maybe that might do it. I leave, come back an hour later and its 75 in the house. Still blowing hot. I turn the thermostat off. I start Googling Nest thermostat issues. 10 minutes later, still blowing hot. I have to kill the main AC breaker to get it to go off. I turn the breaker back on and the AC unit starts blowing hot again immediately - with the thermostat still in the off position. So now I climb up on the roof and start to remove the access panels where the technician just was. Oh, and this guy made it a point to let me know about his 20+ years experience and how he was more knowledgeable than probably anybody else. So I start removing screws on the access panels. I pull one screw in the middle of the 2 access panels and the unit finally shuts off. Once I get the panels off, I immediately see the issue. Dude had pinched my thermostat wires between the panels and the frame. There's a notch where the wire goes, with a nice protective grommet over the wires to keep it secure. Apparently this only works if the WIRE IS IN THAT NOTCH! You can see in the pictures where the wire was pinched after that master technician was done with his inspection. And then when I put it in the groove where it was supposed to go. Hopefully they don't short out anymore, but the damage is already done so who knows. I'll probably be running a new thermostat wire soon. Long story short, save yourself time and money and call someone else. I know I will. read more

Scary experience with a tech. He was friendly and professional for the first 2 hours during a maintenance visit. But when he tried to upsell us on a maintenance agreement, he became belligerent when we said we weren't interested. His demeanor changed to a very angry person who did not want to take no for an answer. He told us we were "wrong" and irresponsible as home owners. Absolute and complete scum of the Earth, without a doubt the worst AC company in the valley. When I speak with other contractors, not even just AC people but anyone, and mention the name, they all balk at this company and appear disgusted just to hear it uttered. No, I'm not making this up, I've actually tried it many, many times to see if I can find anyone that speaks highly of them. So far, not a single person has had anything good to say about this company. What a surprise. I had these 'people' install a full system at my home a number of years ago. They did shoddy work and physically damaged my home inside and out, then tried to wiggle out of paying for the repairs that their own people (subcontractors) were too incompetent to carry out. I had in writing that they were responsible for all repairs and they still tried to get out of it and leave me with hundreds of dollars of expense. I eventually go them to pay, but not without having to complain to just about everyone in the company and ask if I needed to file a complaint with the registrar of contractors. I would never, ever, not in a million years, do business with these folks again, not even if you paid me. It is not worth the hassle and not worth all the lies and hidden costs, damage to your home and shoddy equipment. I am still, to this day, years later, paying the price for their unethical, unqualified and incompetent installers, techs and salespeople. I have told everyone who would listen that they need to avoid these clowns and I continue to do so whenever the topic comes up in discussion or I hear anyone mention air conditioning. Nobody should have to deal with a bunch of unmitigated, profiteering, unethical poseurs passing themselves off as a some kind example for other AC companies to follow. When you have a bad experience with a company, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth that is difficult to remove. My previous review of this place was terrible as the service tech person (who it was primarily about) failed us dramatically and we were weeks without a resolution. Enter the Knight in Shining Armor. After complaining about their service and feeling like we were nothing more than drift wood to this company, ONE of their employees stepped up to the plate to correct the issue. Jerry Bailey came to our rescue. The problem was explained to him and he actually appeared to care about how poor the overall customer experience had been for me. Jerry was able to complete the order for our A/C filters which were previously abandoned. Jerry was thoughtful and compassionate and a real asset to their organization. Avoid like the plague. Allow me to illustrate my extreme dissatisfaction with these professional ripoff artists. It is currently August. The absolute hottest month of the Arizona summer. Our AC gave out and yesterday all of us, a family of 4 adults and 2 little girls, in 93 degree heat indoors and sweating from every pore we called the very first people we COULD. ACE Home Services. Guy named Caleb comes out, fiddles around with our old unit, and after half an hour he comes down from our roof and tells us it's unfixable and that being an old 20 year unitl we need to replace it urgently, yadda yadda and quotes us... 11 grand for a 5ton unit we later on found out could be bought for 2.5k. After much protesting and negotiating we 'talked him down' to 8k. Which is an exorbitant amount of money. This is what happens when you are desperate and literally melting in the AZ heat. To make matters worse, this guy tells us that we should leave the house and go to a motel for the weekend (Yay! more money to spend after overcharging us 8 grand!) because it would be too hot for our little girls. Next morning, we decided to look for a second opinion. Turns out there's another place, awesome reviews on yelp, called JMAC. THEIR tech not only arrived instantly after the call, he tells us that our AC runs fine and that mold in the motor is triggering the unit's automatic shutdown feature and that is why we're literally melting indoors. Well, he gives us an alternative. Buy a new unit for 4 grand OR keep the motor for 400. And if we buy the new unit, we get the motor over the weekend and they'll take it with them when they're done. A much more reasonable alternative AND very courteous and reasonable service. So after this we call to cancel ACE, and Caleb calls us infuriated demanding to know why we're cancelling! After explaining, the guy calls my mother "a fucking foreigner, all you foreigners are all the same" and saying that she is a horrible unreasonable person for seeking a second alternative to his clearly commission based 8 grand ripoff festival. So not only do these evil people hire racist assholes who are out to rip you off, BUT they would also condemn you to a weekend of Arizona hell 90+ degree indoor heat for an entire weekend 'while the unit comes in'. Your practices are EVIL, you are racists (my mother is a US Citizen and the only 'foreign' thing about her is her thick spanish accent) and you are the scum of the earth. So as I stated to begin with, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Avoid these people like they are throwing used needles full of AIDS virus at you. Don't let the heat force you into a bad decision. We are already looking at surcharges (15% restocking fee when they didn't even UNSTOCK anything!... they want to actually make us pay for literally NOTHING!) we will have to likely take these scum to court for. If you are buying a new unit please read. Ace is a great company but keep in mind they are a company and exist to make $$. If you are a savvy consumer do your homework and get 3 quotes before spending thousands on a new unit. Ace came and did a great assessment of our needs but when it came to the price tag they were $1200 over one competitor and $2500 over another. I am not at all against a company making their profits but I can't help but feel like I was taken advantage of. Ace claims that they do things that other AC companies do not do...however, the estimates I received all did duct work/air handler/switch/junction box/thermostat upgrade/intake grill upgrade and probably some other things that I am not including. I am lucky our unit didn't go out and was not under pressure to make a decision but I actually had 3 in home estimates in one day during the month of July. If we were out of AC I would have paid $2500 but easy access to the internet is a consumers best friend. I am glad I did the right thing for me and my family. Good luck!!! read more

Sky did a tune up and claims we needed a brand new 5 ton a/c unit b/c pipes were all rusted out and leaking. The Lennox unit is no more than 9 yrs old. Claims they don't work on commission; new system installed was going to run $7k+ for a limited time before prices go up. I had an HVAC friend double check his work and he said we don't need a new a/c and the pipes are ok. Lesson learned: don't hire an a/c guy that works on commission and get a second even a third opinion from someone you trust. read more

Plumber inspected my sewer main and installed the clean out as instructed. He told me the pipe was bad and had to be replaced and suggested looking into bursting. I liked that. He also gave me a very good price for the wrong (but functional) cleanup. Two plumbers came out for repipe estimates and both laughed at the incorrect clean out he installed. He explained it to me, but I'm not a plumber. Strike one. He was supposed to get back to me with an estimate for a new line of the trench style. He never did. He was supposed to send me a receipt for the work done since I gave the card over the phone. I was not at the residence. He did not send it. Strikes two and three. After another call to him and 3 more to HQ and a week pass, I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY RECEIPT!!! This is the poorest example of customer service I've ever seen! I need the receipt for my rental records. Now I am going to have to drive 40 miles to request it in person from the manager or owner. I'm also going to have to check my credit card because now I am questioning if it was charged correctly. We made it through the brunt of the heat and searched for a way to scrape up enough to make a down payment on a new unit, unbeknownst to us we'd been nominated by Kris Ohannessian over at ACE Air to be the lucky recipients of a brand spanking new unit absolutely gratis. With a few phone calls and a surprise visit from an ACE Air "elf" tech, we were on our way to a cool house. When the day came for the new unit to be installed, KJ himself came over with his staff on their day off to give us the gift of cool air. I hate to write negative reviews but when you nearly cause someone to spend $2500-$12000 purposelessly, then you deserve it. I have a PM service agreement with this company that I purchased years ago when they serviced my ac. That was a mistake, as this simply marries you to them whenever you have a problem with your air conditioner. So when we weren't getting any cold air in the house, I naturally called them to take a look. To their credit, they came right away and subsequently made a correct diagnosis that my compressor was dead. So after trying and failing to get the thing to work, the guy went outside and called his manager. (This immediately reminded me of what happens when you buy a car) He came back and told me that I have two choices: replace the compressor at $3500, or buy a new unit. He did discount the replacement to $2800 since I was on the hook for their PM plan. Being a savvy consumer, I told him I wasn't prepared to spend that amount of money without comparison shopping. He protested that all the next guy would do is undercut the price and I would lose the remaining years on my PM plan. Which, funny, they were willing to service the unit the builder put in, so why not one installed by a competitor? I was lucky that my compressor failed in October rather than July, giving me plenty of time to look at all my options. I researched both routes- a new unit and replacing the compressor. The units the guy wanted to sell me were high end 9-12k ac that would have taken the rest of my life to 'pay themselves off.' I determined a 5-6k unit was my best option. But that aside, I didn't need a new ac anyway. I found the part online for $1078. So the labor is $1800? I dont think so. After contacting another contractor, I found out that replacing the compressor should be $1500- $1700. He also clued me in that they jack up the price so you will make the leap and buy a new unit. But wait, there's more! Digging even deeper, I found out that my compressor has a 10 year warranty. A quick call Goodman, and they told me I just needed to have a contractor take out the old one and exchange it with them. All I would have to pay for is labor. So, in conclusion, this company is out to maximize profit, but they are doing so by minimizing consumer value. I caution anyone that needs ac work to go elsewhere. Also, if your ac goes out and it's super hot outside, think about staying a night or two in a hotel while you do your diligence and find the best deal. read more

When you live in the desert, AC is crucial, even moreso than water at times. ACE was professional and courteous when they came out to service my parent's AC unit. The staff is responsive and generally accommodating to your needs, given the peak season where everyone wants their home to feel like an igloo. The field techs are hard working and knowledgeable of what works best for your needs. The only reason it is a star short is because the tech had damaged the attic opening but I credit anyone willing to go up and suffer the inferno of a crawl space. We bought a home that had a transferable 3 year warranty purchased from these folks. The warranty was purchased in May of 2014. We called since there was some condensation buildup in the attic unit. Oh. The warranty is transferable BUT it does not cover labor for a new owner and since the unit itself is a few years old, it doesn't cover parts either. What a SCAM!!!!! This warranty cost the seller almost $600. We obviously will never do business with these people and suggest you think twice. read more

I sat here for three hours this morning waiting for my service call and they stood me up. No phone call, no email, nothing. A complete waste of time. I had to call them afterwards to find out what happened. "Oh we need to reschedule due to a large number of service calls...we called and left you a message". No they didn't. I checked my phone log and I didn't receive any calls this morning and I didn't have any voicemails either. I'll go with someone else. read more
