My wife and I needed a new air conditioner. We were tired of putting band-aides on our old unit and saying prayers that it will get us through each season, it was stressful! We decided to pull the trigger and purchase a new unit. We "interviewed" 5 companies for the job. We went to the Home Show, we visited Yelp and Google, we took recommendations from neighbors to come up with what we thought would be the 5 best choices for us. After listening to everybody put down other companies, it was refreshing to hear somebody talk about their company and what they offered. The person we talked with was Mark Steinberg. I HIGHLY recommend speaking with Mark about your AC needs. After speaking with Mark it was obvious that Hughes Air was the only company that was going to get our business, and their bid was more comprehensive, thorough, and less expensive than the other companies as well, which was a win for us right away! Marks proposal included three different units that would meet our needs. We chose the XV18 5-ton system. We have a 2400 square foot home and we could not be happier with our choice. When the unit is on full bore in the summer, which is rare is because it is so efficient, it makes a noise that is just a tad bit louder than our refrigerator! I'm not kidding, I was blown away! When we are in our back yard we don't have to yell at each other and our guests to be heard. We have peace and quiet in our back yard now. Our installers were brothers and they were so personable and professional. I would really like to take this time to thank Brad and Scott for their quick, professional installation. They left the area that they were working in cleaner than when they started. They showed a lot of patience with me as I was asking them questions about the install and the unit itself, and they even walked me through programming the way cool thermostat that comes with this unit. These young men were truly awesome and they represented Hughes in the most personable and professional way possible. I was really becoming pleased that my wife and I chose Hughes Air. I had a couple of questions after the first few days of the install and I texted Mark with them and he responded right away. I was wondering if the man ever sleeps with his response being so quick and at the odd times that I texted/left messages for him. As some time went by the Freon settled, which I was expecting, and I had a tech come out by the name of Nathan. If I had any doubts about Hughes Air . . . . Nathan squelched them!!! This young man is the bomb! I feel so confident with Hughes Air and their employees that I cannot give them a high enough rating. There are numerous AC companies in the valley, but Hughes is the only one that will I will ever deal with, and once you meet with them I am sure that you will feel the same way! Over the period of about a month, I had gone through the arduous task of getting quotes, 8 in all, from different installers in the valley. Prices varied from bargain basement to WAY above markup value. Hughes was not the absolute lowest quote, but certainly nowhere near the highest. Larry, our sales Rep gave a good presentation, covered everything that I wanted to hear and even mentioned some things I might consider doing with our install. The lowest quotes I received didn't really rub me the right way, and I felt like I may be setting myself up for a lousy install if I went with them, so I decided to go with Hughes. Install day went like this - The Hughes team arrived exactly at 7AM as scheduled. Each of the guys on the team knew exactly where to go and what to do. They were very well trained in what they do, and I honestly felt like these guys were the Navy SEALs of HVAC install. They swept in, did their job and rolled out. You wouldn't have even known they were there once they left. Our particular job took 12 hours total. The job was clean, the unit install was Air tight (they secured pretty much all existing/potential leaks in our duct work and the new install, so yes - it was AIR TIGHT) and they really instilled a lot of confidence in their ability to work as a team to get the job done right. To say the least, I was very pleased overall with the entire transaction/install experience. AS A CONSUMER, and now a current customer of Hughes, I can't recommend them enough. You can stew over these reviews all day long (like I did), or just get a quote from them. I promise, you'll get the good "feeling" from these guys, and not that voice in the back of your head saying "well THAT seemed kinda shady." I have only great things to say about Hughes Air since I contacted them about replacing my heat pump last December. I had done a slew of research, and had contacted several dreadful companies before I made my decision to go with Hughes Air. It was the best decision I could have made! Everyone at Hughes is professional and friendly, and they truly believe in providing excellent customer service. That's rare in this day and age, and very appreciated, especially since I can be a pain-in-the-butt with my pre-purchase questions! :) Jim Hughes came out personally to analyze my house and my heating and cooling needs and provide the estimates. We discussed uneven temps, and duct work, and Jim saw one problem with my duct work but told me to hold off and see if the new unit helped this problem, instead of trying to up-sell me when I was vulnerable. That was impressive! I went with the Trane XL16c (4 ton, 16-seer, 2-stage), and while I haven't had any problems with the unit itself, Reno and Nate have been out a couple of times to do adjustments to ensure my comfort...including installing and adjusting dampers to even out the temperatures around my house. And this was all part of the installation service. How sweet is that? I wish I would have discovered Hughes Air when I bought my house in 2002, but I didn't, and am now recommending them to everyone I know. After getting numerous estimates for a new "Trane" AC unit, I decided to go with Hughes Air. Hughes Air is a "Trane" certified installer, which is what I was looking for, and they know their stuff. Their general manager, Mark, was honest and straightforward when he quoted me a very fair price for the unit I wanted. Mark was also very knowledgeable and, most importantly, didn't try to sell me what I didn't need! He actually was able to save me money because other installers tacked on things that made the quote increase anywhere from $500 to $1000!! I am on a budget and that wasn't going to work for me. Brad and Scott did a great job installing my unit too. When they were finished, my house looked as clean as when they arrived. I would highly recommend Hughes Air and will be using them for all my future maintenance needs! Also, the customer service is excellent! Their service technician, Reno, came out and quickly took care of a minor issue for me. The office staff was also excellent too. Rachael completed all the paperwork for my SRP rebate and Trane warranty very quickly, and she was also very friendly and helpful with all of my questions! Back Story: We purchased (2) new A/C Furnace System from a local dealer approx. 14 months ago... Of course it appears they've gone out-of-business about the time one of my AC units decided not to engage. (Almost exactly 1 year after install). Not being able to contact my original installer, I contacted the Manufacture (Frigidaire / Nordyne); they put me in touch with the local distributor (Farnsworth). Through Farnsworth I was given the Name (Hughes Air Heating & Cooling)... Now I'm wondering why someone would help me since I didn't purchase anything from them. Present Day: 9-17-13 I contacted Hughes Air via the internet... To make a long story short. Within 30 minutes I received a call from the owner; he said I'll have someone there in the morning. Sure enough, a Tech (Eron) arrived first thing. He changed out my Thermostat; FOR FREE (nothing for the parts or the Service call. HOLY COW; that's customer service. Turn back the clock; having someone like Hughes Air brings back days of old... Thank You - Thank You I feel very fortunate that there is still this type of Business still around in 2013. I was told by another company that my unit needed to be replaced. I decided it was time to replace it so I request a quote to the company providing me with the maintenance service and also called another 3 more for quotes. Jim Hughes was the first to call back and the first one to go to my house and see what I needed. He provided me with a quote the same day. After 2 weeks I receive quotes for all other 3 quotes. Hughes air and another company were very close on the unit I picked (Trane XL14c).the other 2 companies where juts out of proportion alms twice as much Hughes Air quoted. Once I decided to use Hughes air the process went really fast, Jim called me on a Thursday to schedule the instal next Tuesday. They show up on time to install the unit, very profesional, and very clean. I was with them all the time, because i wanted to know how it is installed. Brad explained me every step of the installation, and showed me after every step what was done, he demonstrated how proud is of his work and the quality of it. The same applies for Eron and Gilbert that were part of the installation team. I'll be using them for the regular maintenance of my new unit. read more

I just have to express my delight in having had the good fortune to find a reliable and creditworthy company in HUGHES AIR Heating & Cooling. Our 12-year old AC failed us and we were in need of a good contractor to purchase a new AC system. We found it in Jim Hughes. He made an excellent recommendation, which we followed, and he and his crew came last Friday and installed the new AC system (air handler and condensing unit) for a competitive price. With Jim Hughescame his employees (Jason and Nataniel) and I wholeheartedly can recommend these professionals. They worked efficiently and were soooo neat. After they left, one could not see that someone had removed the old equipment and replaced it with new equipment. Everything was spotless and the house enjoyed coolness again. We had Hughes Air out for the 1st time (Reno and Nate), we are new to the Company. They spent a lot of time with us and didn't make us feel rushed. Very nice. They came out to help with two issues which we are in the process of diagnosing. We asked them about 3rd issue, a duct work issue, we had no air coming out of vents in our kitchen. We've mentioned the problem to several HVAC companies over the years and no one had found the problem, including the company who installed our new System years back. Reno and Nate seemed like they genuinely cared. They almost immediately found where the problem was located (disconnected flex ductwork) and suggested what needed to be done to fix it. Something no other HVAC contractor has ever been able to do. We are THRILLED to say the least, we now have air in our kitchen and dining. What a difference in my kitchen!!!!! I needed a new a/c and got quotes from Parker and Sons, George Brazil and Hughes Air. George Brazil quoted me a York despite asking for a Trane. After several attempts I gave up on George Brazil. Parker and Sons price was ridiculously high. They told me they weren't the cheapest, and I'm not looking for the cheapeast, but charging 40% more than Hughes Air for the same unit was unethical. Hughes Air gave me the warranty, price and service I was looking for. Their guys came and installed my gas furnace and A/C in about 4 hours. I was very impressed with Larry, my point of contact. He didn't pressure me and he knew his stuff. He didn't b.s. me. I can highly recommend Hughes Air if you need an a/c, furnace. Stay away from those big guys. They don't value the customer. We did a lot of research before getting estimates for a new air conditioning unit. We did calculations which determined the unit size which would best meet our home's needs. The size was actually smaller than what had previously been installed. Mark, their general manager, was in agreement with the unit size we requested, and explained why too large of a unit could make it less efficient. The Hughes estimate was also reasonable compared to the 3 other companies we considered. Lastly, Mark was available to answer any questions, assisted with the quick scheduling of the installation and even brought additional supplies to our home on install day to be sure the unit was installed that day. Jim and his team were great. We had our new Trane unit installed in Feb of 2018. I received quotes from 5 or 6 Trane specialist and Jim's quotes on the different units were consistently good. Install was done in one day. The unit had a small problem with a door sensor a Sunday few days later and it was fixed within an hour or two after a call to his office. Wanted to wait a year or so to see how everything has worked and all has been good and the service of all the techs have been great. A 114 degree day is tough to have AC go out. We are on Social Security and this was not good. Called Jim at Hughes. He went out of his way and spent his time to help us find AC we could afford. I got a quote from another vendor about a problem they told me I had, and when Jim came out and took a look, he told me that there wasn't actually anything wrong with the unit.
