These guys have helped me through 4 big moves now. You don't really know how much stuff you have until you have to pack them in boxes. I feel like I've always ended up under quoting them the amount of stuff they end up having to move but they have never once complained about it. They always make it work and still manage to move everything with the time alloted. They also do a great job at making sure nothing is damaged. We used Ace Movers to move from San Leandro to San Joaquin county. Jean was great at answering questions and booking for us. We then had a video walk through and estimate which was a great price to move a 2 bedroom home. The guys were on time, had on their masks and packed all of our furniture really well and were really fast. Once at the new house they were courteous, quick and careful with moving everything in. Hired a couple of movers earlier this month. If you call them to inquire, they will ask you how many rooms do you have at the old and new place and they will base it from there how many people you need to do the moving. They only sent 2 guys at my place (Coming from a 2br apt and moving to a 3br house) I thought they could've sent more to do the work faster? Idk. Maybe I should've insisted? But I wasn't sure if they will charge me more if I want to add another person. Anyway, you could save time by boxing all your stuff beforehand so the movers won't spend more time packing it for you and whatnot. Remember, you're paying them by the hour! They have a different rate if you pay in cash or credit card. I think you'll save about $15/hr if you pay in cash? So yeah, that's a big savings if you ask me. I apologize for not having a lot of info. I hired them last minute because I was procrastinating. Obviously. Lol So yeah, They came pretty much on time (15 minutes late from the time that was set up but they didnt start charging me for the time until before they started "working") they are nice and friendly and they just started carrying stuff right away! They really took their time though. Sometimes I saw them carrying light stuff and I thought to myself "maybe they should add more since it's very light?" I mean, that's what I'll do if I was the one moving my own stuff. I guess they didn't wanna stress themselves so they just took their sweet time. They could disassemble your stuff on the wall but they couldn't assemble it back to a wall. Also, by the time we got to the new place, they will ask you where to put your stuff so you have to give a specific instruction if you don't wanna carry it yourself afterwards. I think they spent about 6 or 7 hours? Wasn't sure. I fell asleep so I just instructed my mother to help them and pay them after. It's kinda pricey but I mean, if you don't want to do all the heavy stuff, then it's worth it. I called another moving company and this one is way cheaper than the other. read more

I have a hard time expressing how amazing our move was, and all of the delight was due to us deciding to go with Ace Moving. Ken and JD showed up exactly on time, and took care of our furniture like it was their own. They warned us that the most difficult thing to move would be our huge fiddle leaf fig plant, and then they managed to deliver everything perfectly. They even held our furniture for us while we applied felt pads to the feet to protect our new floors, and helped us to remove the cheap plastic feet that we didn't even realize was installed. Not only were they delicate and efficient, they both were personable and delightful to be around. We were referred to Ace Moving by a friend who hired them in the past - glowing reviews and extremely high praise! We booked via phone call, and email exchange. They initially requested we make a deposit, but in the end they took our word for it and showed up promptly on the scheduled day! Initially I was skeptical they could fit all of our stuff in one trip (one bedroom with lots of junk and a few pieces of heavy furniture + tv), but they assured me they could've fit 2 - 3x what I showed them on hand. Sure enough, Kenny and JD got to work with extreme politeness and enthusiasm. They made sure to take all of our worries into account, and ensured each piece of furniture and each box of memories was taken proper care of. The loading took 2 hours, the drive 20 minutes, and unloading took another 2 hours. The destination was a new 3 story house, yet these guys never hesitated nor complained while unloading! So my original move started in February and ended in July. I knew of ACE Moving as a classmate Ken Grant was the original owner. Placing my first call I was told that Mr. Grant was living in the Bahamas as he had recently retired. Talking with Jean he was able to meet our time frame and our move was on. Roberto arrived on time with another helper ready to get started. 6 hours later they were packed and unpacked and back on the road. 5 months later I called Jean and scheduled or second and final move some 100 miles away as we had just purchased our new home. Bright and early Roberto showed up with 2 helpers and the move was on! One and a half hours after arriving they had loaded there truck and on the road they went. Less than two hours later they arrived to do the final unload. One hour later and three what I would consider generous tips they were back on the road and headed home. All and all ACE Moving did an amazing job. Zero issues. Friendly and Professional. Also I didn't check with other movers as far as price goes because I felt they were very reasonable on the estimate. Highly recommend! I hired Ace to help me move from the East Bay (El Cerrito) to Davis. It wasn't an easy move. I'm a single mom and I had my 4 year old kid running around, and it was a blazing hot day in August -- the thermostat hit 104 degrees while they were unloading the truck. They were very careful and not careless. Their pricing was fair and close to what they gave me as an estimate (I was charged a little more since I had more stuff than expected). Great, clear communication from start to finish! We did a local residential move and the folks at ACE were efficient, great listeners, and took a great deal of care of our belongings. They showed up on time and delivered. I don't know how they tetris'd everything into the big truck, and I was getting nervous not everything would fit, but somehow they had JUST enough space in there for our big move! One time I wish we were informed of upfront was that we would get charged for the wrapping tape they used to secure our disassembled furniture. They were great. I've never hired movers before, so I was a little terrified that something awful was going to happen...but it didn't! They whisked everything off to my new apartment and there wasn't so much as a scratch on anything and at exactly the time they had quoted. It was in the middle of a freak heat wave, too, so they did it all in 96 degree October heat. I was sure it would end up taking longer, and was such a nice surprise that it didn't! My only disappointment was that they came in a different truck -- I got myself psyched up about that truck with the ace on the side.
