On the other hand, things got weird when it was time to pay. I didn't appreciate feeling pressured when they tried to tell me that a 30% tip was the standard. I gave them 20%, which I felt was a good tip and standard for a good job. I was also pressured into writing both a Yelp and Google review, leaving them 5 stars as they hovered over me. As the day of the move approached, I had lots of last-minute worries and questions and Sam, in Customer Service, answered every one and generally calmed my nerves, assuring me my move team would assist if we needed last-minute help. On the day of the move, the team arrived right on time. The foreman, Guillermo, assessed our situation and calmly confirmed my suspicious that we'd need two trucks (this my error, not OnTrack's). Before I could panic, he had contacted his team and we arranged that ours be a two day move. Guillermo's team wrapped our furniture and had the truck loaded swiftly. At the new house, we had a few of our family help direct traffic. I'd labelled every box with a color-coded room label and the team got everything to the proper room. On day two, Sammy -- part of the original crew -- acted as lead and we repeated the process. Here, a number of items still needed a bit of packing and his team had everything done in record time and -- bless them - marked the boxes for the proper room destinations without prompting. My move was from a 650sqft apartment, 90% items boxed and ready, no heavy items except one cal long mattress, and o did ask for the closet l (very small) to be boxed with the wardrobe boxes they provided. The new location was 2.4 miles away. PROS: *Timely responses via Yelp * Reasonable price (especially if you pay cash $109/hr with 3hr minimum). *This price included two movers and they arrived promptly at 3 pm. *Brought their own moving truck and all the supplies * I was compensated for the mishandling of my expensive plants. CONS: * Prolonging the service to get more money. The movers had dollys and started only moving one box at a time. * Careless about your items. I had expensive plants that were smashed, ripped, and taken apart. * Moving boxes were not taped at the bottom causing items to fall out. I would have recommended the company had they tried to not gaslight me. I take great care and detail in moving as I've done it countless times. The movers changed around my boxes and then didn't tape them causing me to have items smashed and destroyed. The movers tried putting blame on me. I didn't appreciate that the intentionally went slower so that I would have to pay more for their services.

The move involved moving the dining set down two sets of SF stairs during pick up. Len and I communicated first via Yelp messaging, then email, phone and text (I found All Star Moving Company via Yelp and received his proposal for the move via Yelp messaging). All communications were prompt, clear and helpful. I paid a flat rate for this particular move as it was fairly simple, and paid a 15% tip to each mover (had asked the tip norm). My furniture was wrapped carefully and properly (there was no damage). Len texted when leaving pick up with eta and texted again about 30 minutes out. Very easy to reach/communicate. Friendly, courteous and professional. Already considering for a bigger job because we were so pleased.
