We had a great experience moving from our apartment in Oakland with Ace, Mateo & his crew were very friendly and offered to help us by disassembling and re-assembling our furniture that was too big to move on its own. They got the job done earlier than the time we estimated and didn't cut any corners on safety or with protecting our stuff, so spending $500 bucks for two people to help move out and into our new place, both of which were on the second floor was very reasonable. Ever have to four days to find a place to live, find movers and execute the move? Slightly stressful. This was the situation I found myself in when the skilled nursing place that Dad was in told me he was being discharged in four days. First challenge was finding an Assisted Living place that was a good fit and had an available apartment. Luckily, the place we found (Carlton Senior Living) referred us to Ace Movers. They were able to supply all moving materials, gave us tips on how to pack, and transferred our stuff to our new place with absolutely no damage! Ace Moving was fantastic! Our movers Roberto, Matteo, and Elloy could not have been more professional. They were on time (and actually a bit early), moved quickly (which saved us money), incredibly respectful of our stuff (and our walls and neighbors), and also very friendly to deal with. I would 100% hire them again for a move. We had a small (1Bedroom) local move from one apartment in San Francisco to another apartment short drive away in the City in June of 2022. We packed our own stuff ahead of time and they helped us move those boxes, dissassemble and reassemble our furniture (with tools they brought), and take everything down two stories on one side, into the truck, and later up two stories on the other side. We had a move scheduled this week to haul boxes and furniture from an apartment in the peninsula to a home about an hour away in the east bay. The initial quote was fine and scheduling seemed to be easy so we weren't worried. They show up within their scheduled window, however instead of the originally quoted two movers, three show up (two of whom look to be very young, no more than college freshmen at best). The team lead tries to say that the extra person is only $30 more an hour and will make the move faster. Annoying but what can you do at that point. Send the guy home in an Uber? Now we have an extra $30 an hour to factor in. The three of them enter the apartment and shoe covers are provided for them (the entire place is carpeted). All three initially wear them, but then the two younger men do not put them back on after leaving and coming back in. While the carpet was messy from the move we never wear our shoes in the apartment, and it's now covered in shoe dirt. While packing a coffee table they place a blanket over the top but do nothing to protect the bottom. The piece comes back chipped and damaged. Everything is packed and they drive over to the new house. Multiple times, the movers were asked to please be very mindful of the walls. They could even take longer (we are paying by the hour! So it's a loss to us not them). Still they bump the boxes and furniture into multiple sections of the brand new painted walls, scratching and marking it. The biggest scratch coming from their own dirty blankets no less. It isn't until it's literally pointed out to them that they give some half hearted "apology" in the form of saying it will come out and then try to take the scratch and stains off poorly themselves. It of course, does not come off properly as the wall is scratched in addition to being marked. I understand that moves are tough but I feel like bare minimum I expect people to keep the homes they enter clean and try their best to keep their blankets clean or avoid hitting the walls at all. Guess this isn't the right company for that. Otherwise our other items including some made of glass and a fragile tv were transported without damage. To the owner: While we appreciate the outreach and do acknowledge that your company tried to repair what was damaged, ultimately the house was not painted by contractors and it didn't make sense to hire someone to repair these damages. I also didn't feel comfortable negotiating pricing on material cost or time spent for something that was not done by an outside agency or contractors and I wouldn't know how to invoice for something like this. I've since fixed the wall myself but still feel that in this particular case my review stands because there had to be additional effort to repair the already finished walls. read more

The team of 3 movers showed up and carried all of our heavy furniture and boxes down multiple sets of stairs from our tri-level townhome in Dublin to our new two-story home in San Ramon. They did a great job wrapping all the furniture to ensure they aren't damaged then making sure all furniture and boxes are placed in the correct rooms in the new home. They even removed the front door, and reinstalled it, to make it easier to bring large items into the home. We labeled the rooms for all the boxes, which they read and followed, and we were always around in case they needed clarification where to put items. Overall, the job took something like 7 hours but I was constantly monitoring and the team seemed to be working hard. We just had a lot of stuff (unexpectedly filled up most of their truck). They called when on their way and did a great job. However, after the move was complete. I found that I had 2 framed pictures and another designer picture missing. I emailed twice. After no response I called. I was told nothing was found on the truck. However, I know these items were packed by the movers and were in the truck as I never moved them and our old place was left empty. I have before and after the movers loaded the truck and photos of the walls with 2 of the 3 no longer on the walls. The third was in another room and that angle was not captured. Ace is a great moving company that helped with my move out of a 1-bedroom apartment to another late last year. I opted for 2 movers instead of 3 because I thought I didn't have that much to move between, my girlfriend, and our cat. The two movers brought a 30 ft-long truck that I thought was overkill, but it was eventually filled up 80% of the way which surprised me. The movers (who wore masks!) were expeditious, but, because my former apartment was on the fifth floor, they needed extra time to wait for the elevator. It made me realize later on that while hiring a third mover may have cost more in the beginning, it may end up getting the work done sooner. That's some food for thought that may come in handy in the future. They're strong lads who did all the heavy-lifting and I think it was well-worth the price ($600-$700 IIRC for 4-5 hours of work, including tip) to hire a moving company. I'll definitely consider Ace Moving again if the need ever arises in the future. read more
