Guy told me he was at the beach and couldn't help me until Mon. Anyways they took my info and confirmed I was under warranty and my heater will be replaced but I ll have to pay $450 labor. I had no choice but agree to it. Mon morning they called and told me they had a flat tire but will be there and eventually they did arrive later that morning. Since my basement has a new carpet and my young children play there, I requested them to put shoe coverings on. This is where the problem started with their attitude. They said, they didn't have any shoe covering and their shoes were 'clean'. Many Asian/South Asians don't bring outdoor shoes inside the house. I offered them new plastic bags to put on their shoes but they refused to do so and angrily left the house saying you should get it done from someone else. At that time, my wife intervened and requested them to come back inside with their shoes and said we ll get it clean later. living in NJ, they should know not everyone wears outside shoes on inside carpet. They should have shoe coverings as contractors and refusing to help work with the customer was just bizarre. My wife put whatever sheets she could find to cover the way but it's a large area and didn't cover everything besides they didn't seem to want to wait. I worked with them and waited a couple of days without hot water. I didn't push them to send a backup plumber or didn't negotiate the labor cost but their uncooperative and frankly grumpy attitude left a bad taste.

They arrived with an impressive truck and camera equipment, then showed me camera images that made the situation look far worse than it actually was. Based on that, they told me I needed to excavate and replace part of my sewer line at a cost of more than $9,000. What I later discovered is that they are not licensed plumbers. Despite charging me $900, they were unable to clear the blockage. They also warned me not to let another plumber use a large drain snake, claiming it could damage the pipe. I then called a local licensed plumber. Within a short time, he cleared the line for just $399 and removed a large mass of roots from the sewer line (see attached photo). There was no need for a $9,000 excavation. When I asked Drain Jetters for a refund because they did not solve the problem, they ignored my request and refused to do anything. My advice: Before hiring Drain Jetters, call a licensed local plumber first. It could save you thousands of dollars and a lot of unnecessary stress.
