If I could give zero stars, I would. I prepaid for a mid-size SUV through Orbitz, but when my flight was delayed (which obviously happens), I had no idea I'd be punished for it. The "service" here is a joke. Tim (who apparently runs the place) called me literally minutes before closing to ask if I was coming, then dumped a random Kia Forte by a flag in the parking lot and left the keys inside like he was doing me a favor. Not only was it the WRONG CAR (I booked an SUV, got a Kia sedan), but it reeked of smoke. When I called to complain, Tim acted clueless and said he didn't see an SUV on the order--total nonsense, since my Orbitz receipt clearly says "mid-size SUV." Either he can't read, or he just doesn't care. His solution? I could drive 45-90 minutes (depending on traffic) the next day to swap cars, or maybe they'd bring me one. Zero accountability, zero customer service. He even told me to "call his manager" rather than bothering to fix his own mess. Why is it my job to chase down his boss after I've already been ripped off? And as the cherry on top, I had to pay $12 just to get out of the parking lot. They offered to reimburse me, but at that point, I was so disgusted I refused. This place is a total scam operation--unprofessional, disorganized, and run by people who shouldn't be in business. If you don't mind driving a "cut rate" car for your vacation this is your place. Hotwire would have you believe this facility is in the airport terminal, it's not. You will be charged a $20 "convenience" fee to leave the car in airport parking upon return because they have "bankers hours", not exactly full service. I keep reading the other reviews about how friendly everyone is... shouldn't this just be "the standard?" Our car, with 22,000 miles on it (!) felt unsafe to drive. The tires were really worn, and the car was really unstable on the freeway. It was completely old school no frills. Ace is as good as it gets. I would have to say this is the reason I would want to go to Palm Springs more often. The ease of everything made this destination so appealing. Once landing, it states on their online website to call a local phone number to get the shuttle service to Ace Rent a Car. You are calling the center and speak to one of the employees. I was told to cross the street where the taxi cabs are and wait for a white van that has Ace Desert something or other and it would take 5-7 minutes. I did exactly that. Followed the simple directions, turns out the pick up spot is where one would go to get picked up by Uber/Lyft. The employee asked for my name and loaded our baggage. Speaking to him during the ride he was stating that most individuals do not know that you call them to get picked up. Or they get frustrated and end up taking an Uber to the site. Why? They are less than 2 miles away and its a free shuttle. When pulling up Ace is not the biggest of car rental facilities. They have already had the car I was going to rent out and they immediately loaded my bags into the trunk. I went inside and they had the paperwork ready to go. Then the standard information, liability, insurance info that goes along with renting a car happened. Then we did a quick walk around, the employee gave me a heads up that all their cars have scratches by the trunk and they know about it; otherwise, the car looks good to go. He also gave me info on dust storms in Palm Springs that I don't know how to handle. We got a Hyundai. Car had no issues and we synced our bluetooth to it and everything was smooth. All I had to do was fill the tank and take it back for return. We pulled up, reversed the process and ended up at the airport. Easy. Definitely coming back here. Very, very friendly service with the best rates on rental cars. The location is off-site from the airport. When you touch down, I recommend calling the shop to request a pick-up. The drivers both to and from the airport were very friendly. The drop-off was very quick and they had the driver promptly take us to the airport. They appear to have a very small fleet of rentals. Since the car rental biz in general is geared almost entirely towards travelers, local residents who want to rent can often run into special requirements and unaware or impatient employees trying to look up or explain those policies - but not here. They know their stuff and the place has more of a genial family-owned business feel as well. When there was a line at Budget with 50 people waiting and only two agents feeding the line, we looked around at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, and found ACE Car Rental. We did not have a reservation thus we didn't have high hopes of getting a car. And though I cannot remember the gentleman's name at the desk, he was kind, considerate, patient, and most of all, he didn't try to upsell us. He asked if we wanted any extras and I did say I wanted Liability. We left the airport in a very nice Nissan Rouge with a total bill of nearly $150 less than Budget. Returning the car to ACE was a snap. I believe the man who did inspect the car was named Travis. He was likewise kind and personable. We will definitely use ACE again on our next visit to Dallas. read more

Highly recommend! The customer service was AMAZING! Our shuttle driver arrived promptly at baggage claim to take us to our car. I was hesitant to book with a rental car company offsite from the airport but we ended up with a person driver and we didn't have to wait for a crowded shuttle, so I actually preferred it. And our driver even gave some excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The car was exactly as described and we had no issues at all. Great value for the price!! I made an error with my booking through a 3rd party agency and selected the wrong dates. I booked a 7 passenger mini-van February 1-7. Arriving at the airport I was surprised that ACE was not at an onsite kiosk. No worries a simple call and they come pick you up. The paperwork went fast and smooth. The mini van was super clean and a 2017 with 55K miles on it. The staff at the desk were friendly, helpful and detailed. We asked about renting a childs car seat and was surprised at the low cost of rental. It was one third the price I was quoted at an airport location. During the week I called to see if I could extend our contract by one day. I was told my card would be charged and all was taken care of. That took a maximum of two minutes. Could not have been easier. Arriving to drop off the car at the end of the contract was no problem and a pleasant experience. We were immediately given a ride to the airport. We were thanked for using ACE. I will be using ACE car rental in the future. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AND THEIR SHODDY EMPLOYEES! If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are THE WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE I've ever had. The employees working the evening 2/26 were RUDE, LAZY, LACKED ANY SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, and were only interested in closing the store early and getting on with their night. Our flight arrived into LAX shortly after 7pm, we found the instructions they sent to find them were incorrect, finally made it onto the right bus to be dropped off at the stop indicated, only to have the bus driver tell us that the ACE shuttle van doesn't pick up after 7:30pm. What?!?! Their instructions stated shuttle van runs until 10pm. Both my husband and I tried continuously to contact ACE at the number provided in the instructions to no avail. We both left messages on the answering machine that picked up. I'm writing this review the Monday after and we still have not received a return call from our voicemails. We walked over a mile from the shuttle drop off to ACE only to find the vans all parked and about 5 employees walking out of the office. They told us we needed to get off their property and they were closed. This was prior to 8pm, which they told us was their closing time. We let them know we had a reservation and that all of our rental information said they did not close until 10pm. One young man pointed to tiny print on their shack and said it says we close at 8, we reminded them that we arrived before 8pm and should be processed for the rental car. They told us we were out of luck. Deflated we walked next door to another rental agency where the guard informed us that this (our experience) happens often at ACE and provided us directions to the rental area for the other company. I am appalled at the lack of customer service and belligerent employees that are employed by ACE. I'm appalled that a car rental company referred by our main airline carrier would allow the need to leave early by their shoddy employees before standing by the reservation that has been booked. My flight arrived at 4 pm So by then, I was stranded and asked Julio what am I to do ? He said in a very unpleasant rude manner that I did not show up at 10 am!!! We rented a car online through a third party and were disappointed when we landed at the airport to find that we had to drive to a different location to pick up the car. All the other rental car places were at the airport and there was alot of them, probably over 5 different other companies to rent from. I called and they sent us a shuttle which was nice but it would be nice if they would have already sent it since we had a scheduled pick up time. When we got to the rental place it was in a tiny run down lot and our car was the only car left, kinda odd. The front desk area was really dirty and run down. The day I rented my car and started my trip, I noticed the dash light was on that said "Maintenance Required". I arrived at my destination and didn't use the car for 2 days. When I needed the car it wouldn't start. I called AAA and they said the battery was shot and that they didn't have them in stock. I called ACE who said it is my responsibility to buy the $300 batter, and they would reimburse me. I borrowed money and bought the battery. The next day I returned the car. I showed them the receipt for the battery. They said the boss wasn't in so I would hear from him in the morning and he would refund the battery money. I asked for my $200 deposit and they said they couldon't close out the account. Only the boss could. They gave me his card with an email address. Today I waited for the call and when I didnt come, I called the office (Desert Rent A Car near the Palm Springs Airport) and asked to speak to the owner manager. He wasn't in. They said I'd have to wait til he comes in. I then Emailed the owner and my email was blocked. I called the office again, this time very angry. I had fulfilled my end of the contract. Why do I have to wait for my refund? I told Alex that their Yelp review would be bad. He said they don't care about Yelp. He told me to stop yelling at him. I said, "You are a representative of this company!" He said, "I don't represent anyone!" I am a low income senior who had to borrow money for the battery. I am not convinced that I will be reimbursed if this how I am being treated. Do not use this agency! read more
