And dismissed me. I left. I called Budget customer service, after his investigation he said there was no reason why she should turn me away. He gave me some suggestions and we will see what happens. But don't go here. I'm headed to enterprise now. I had to call another uber. I have spent all day on a mission to find a rental car. No luck. So thanks lady, now I don't know what I'm gonna do.

The staff there seemed overwhelmed and honestly pretty annoyed with customers, which didn't help the situation. They did give me another car, but instead of handling it professionally, it felt careless. After I mentioned my concerns, they cleaned it so aggressively that they handed it to me completely soaked on the outside, with all the windows still wet, almost like they wanted to make sure I noticed. I was already irritated at that point and just left. Enterprise had a chance to make things right and didn't. Overall, the experience showed a lack of care and basic standards. When I called to complain, Tim acted clueless and said he didn't see an SUV on the order--total nonsense, since my Orbitz receipt clearly says "mid-size SUV." Either he can't read, or he just doesn't care. His solution? I could drive 45-90 minutes (depending on traffic) the next day to swap cars, or maybe they'd bring me one. Zero accountability, zero customer service. He even told me to "call his manager" rather than bothering to fix his own mess. Why is it my job to chase down his boss after I've already been ripped off? And as the cherry on top, I had to pay $12 just to get out of the parking lot. They offered to reimburse me, but at that point, I was so disgusted I refused. This place is a total scam operation--unprofessional, disorganized, and run by people who shouldn't be in business. They pick you up from the airport, so there is NO LINE to stand in. Your paperwork is awaiting you as is your car, and the guys transferred all of our luggage just apparently automatically. And when we returned, it was to a friendly smile, a wave, and they remembered who we were. You just don't see this in the car rental business, and we rent a lot of cars. I've rented from this Hertz location…read moreinside the JW Marriott Desert Springs several times, but after this experience I won't be returning. I prepaid for a vehicle on May 29 for pickup on June 13 at 12:00 PM. My confirmation clearly showed a noon pickup time. Because this was an important trip, I tried calling the office that morning to confirm everything was ready. No answer. I then completed Hertz's online check-in process. At the end, Hertz told me my check-in was complete and that I would be notified around 11:30 AM when my car was ready. That notification never came. I drove about 40 minutes to the location and arrived around 12:20 PM, only to find the office completely closed and no way to retrieve the prepaid vehicle. The hotel front desk contacted the Hertz manager, who explained that employees leave at closing time because customers sometimes don't show up for prepaid reservations. Apparently, Hertz sees no problem with allowing customers to schedule a pickup at the exact time the office closes. Think about that for a moment. If your office closes at noon, why would you allow customers to book a noon pickup? And if you're going to leave, why not call, text, or email the customer whose prepaid reservation is sitting there waiting? The most frustrating part wasn't even losing access to the vehicle--it was the complete lack of concern from management. There was no apology, no attempt to help, no effort to find a solution. I was simply told to call the Hertz 800 number. I prepaid. I completed online check-in. I followed Hertz's instructions. Hertz failed to send the promised notification, failed to contact me, closed the office, and then acted like the problem was mine. If you're considering renting from this location, be very careful about pickup times and don't assume a prepaid reservation means your vehicle will actually be available when you arrive.

Initially, we had issues determining a meeting location as John refused to accept the GPS coordinates we provided. We finally agreed to meet at the Palm Springs Amtrak station to caravan to the Palm Springs windmills for our designated engagement shoot location but on the day of the shoot, John changed the location last minute due to wind concerns. We suggested meeting at a nearby Chevron gas station so we could coordinate with everyone, but John insisted we come to his location, citing potential damage to the car from high winds. He even claimed his location had "windmills" when we arrived the location did not-a complete lie. Once we arrived, John established several previously unmentioned rules. For one-he wouldn't let us drive the car even though he previously stated via email that he would let us drive the drive for a short distance. When he asked about driving the car, his response was demeaning and rude as if we were stupid for asking such a question on the first place. When we asked to drive the car, he claimed the adjacent street was private, another restriction he never mentioned beforehand. Secondly, he demanded we cover the PayPal transaction fee, and had numerous restrictions on how we could interact with the car. For example, he required us to take our shoes off when moving to the backseat but then admonished us for stepping on the seats even though we were barefoot & the ground was too hot to step on. Additionally, our photographer wanted to start with the top up, but John complained about putting the top up and down more than once. Finally, while I was making the final payment, John requested I cover the PayPal fee and even had the audacity to ask for a tip, all while watching me complete the transaction on my phone.
