This was the worst customer service experience of my life. Not only after an extended period of time did my issue not get resolved, despite it being an urgent situation, but when I called to explain the dissatisfaction I had over it all I was greeted with immense rage and anger. I was left in complete disbelief, I have never seen a business conduct encounters with a customer in this manner. They didn't stick true to their word, and honestly the whole thing felt like a big game or scam. I don't know how these people have managed to stay in business. Ace is as far as I know the only locksmith actually located in Ithaca. They are total lock nerds. We needed hard to make keys for a 2004 Prius and a 2013 Ford with smarter-than-you-are locks. They had no trouble, got us working keys in an hour or so despite having to take the Prius door apart to match the physical key which is a backup for the electronic fob. read more

They were great. Called me back right away and I would say came and took care of the problem within 1 hr. I called them on a Sat night. Had 2 expensive bikes locked on a hitch rack in my driveway and we lost the key. They could easily have been stolen so we had to get help removing the lock right away to get the bike inside. We've been putting off getting new locks and deadbolts, even though we haven't had a single working key since we bought our house (over a year ago!). I finally decided to tackle my to-do list so we had Ohn out and he installed new locks/handles and re-keyed the deadlocks in no time. I mentioned to him I had an appointment with Maguire to try again to program two new keys for my Prius because my dealer in Toronto couldn't make them work. Guess what, he does that, too! It's really too bad that this place has virtually no competition in Ithaca. The owner is one of the most condescending people I've ever had the misfortune of speaking with. I went in to his store today to ask about rekeying locks. I asked about the possibility of having one key for all of my locks. He said "you might need new hardware". Specific answer, right? I tried to get a little more information as to what that meant. He asked if I had the keys with me. I said no, they are at home. In and of itself that was a reasonable question, but was completely rude was when he looked at me and said "well that's a hell of a place for them to be". He then proceeded to explain the difference between Medeco locks and Other brand locks in the rudest way he possibly could. With all due respect, sir, I understand that the innards of locks are different, but you still never really answered me. Furthermore, I didn't have my keys because I didn't need them today and I decided to go to the locksmith last minute. You just gave me even more reason to do it myself! I know this business owner doesn't need my business, but I hope others read this and I hope he does too. By the way, this is the first time I've ever felt the necessity to give a Yelp review. That should tell anyone who reads this the level of his rudeness. I will do everything in my power to take my business elsewhere. Thank you for reading my rant. read more
