I came across Ace Skincare Massage Spa when I was searching for a foot massage business to help me relieve some aches. Among the many businesses I looked up on Yelp, Ace had the best rating to pricing ratio so I called in and made an appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were able to accommodate a same day visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I arrived they were in small shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I walked into the lobby and there was a seating area. They had their menu up for both facials and massages. To be honest this is not the type of establishment I would trust for a facial, but my massage was great. I opted for the 70 minutes Body and Foot Combination ($55) with 30 minutes for the body and 40 minutes for the feet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mia was my masseuse and she is fantastic![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She welcomed me back into a semi private room. I say semi because it had a curtain as a door and the wall didn't go to the ceiling, so you can still hear other customers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mia spoke minimal English but it was enough for the purposes of the massage. She would check on me to make sure the pressure was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started off face down and she worked on my back. She was really intuitive and she could feel where my knots were. Then afterwards we flipped over and did the top. So at this location, unlike the other body-foot-combinations I've done they do the back first. Also the whole massage was on the table. So when we got to the foot portion, she asked if I would like to soak my feet and she brought the tub to the table for me to soak. The foot massage was great and it relieved all of the aches I had before I came. I was so relaxed I'm pretty sure I nodded off a few times. The only negative part of my experience was the loud customers trying to be chatty with the other workers. The staff wasn't the one to initiative conversation and I get they have to be polite and reply to their customer. It's still annoying. However for the price, it's like... you get what you're paying for. I'm just sharing to manage expectations if you decide to try it for yourself. As always, we made an appointment for Laura to give hubby his deep tissue massage. Unfortunately, my girl SoFi no longer works there -- RIP to my massage routine -- so I had to try someone new named Willow. And let me just say... Willow is HANDS DOWN the best out of the three therapists I've tried here. I felt the most relaxed I've ever felt, and she somehow found every single spot that needed attention without me even saying much. It was like she read my stress levels telepathically. She was gentle but effective, really intentional with her movements, and made sure I was fully relaxed the entire time. No rushed feeling, no "are we done already?" -- just pure melt-into-the-table energy. My 60-minute massage was $55, and hubby's 60-minute deep tissue with Laura was $60 -- which is honestly such a steal for how good we felt walking out. There is truly no better way to end a long work week than with a Friday massage. We floated out of there like two stress-free marshmallows. I came early evening as a walk-in at Ace Spa; from the outside it looks bloody modest like most of Asian spa in SGV. I was in dire need to alleviate my thicc back particularly the lower back. I asked for a basic body (1hr./$55) massage and was escorted to one of their dim lit rooms. My female masseus (WeiWei) was exceptionally skilled and professional. There I was getting ready and watching the bloody clock like a marathon runner. Her massage techniques (Deep tissue) were fantastic and hits every muscles of my body. I walked in at 1pm and requested 60 minute Deep Tissue which costs $60. They also have 60 minute Regular Massage for $55. I worked with Cathy and she was amazing at finding and relieving knots. I've gotten many massages over several years but this I'd count as the best experience so far. She has very good strength and technique, there's no lack of power in her hands and she's also skilled with her elbows. She was able to relieve a ton of tension in my neck, back. and shoulders. It can be quite painful but you can feel the quality of the work. I also opted for walking on the back which usually isn't great but she also has good technique when using her feet. It's not like other places where it feels like they're actually just walking around. She presses certain pressure points with her toes and balls of her feet. You can request certain body parts or areas of pain to be focused on, in this case it was my knee. She put a lot of time and technique working on and around my knee. I started with a 60 minute massage and it felt so good that when I'd flipped onto my back for the head and shoulder massage, I requested to add an extra 30 minutes. Total for 90 minutes was $90. I decided to treat myself to a massage and found this cute little place. It's tucked away on a small strip mall and parking is easy. I got a 90 full body massage with Nancy for $80. The massage was pretty great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nancy was a good communicator and very polite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My sore feet are always the most in need of massage, and I was not disappointed. I usually fall asleep during a good massage but that didn't happen this time. The reason is I was in the room close to the front door and there was quite a bit of activity with customers coming in and phone calls. That is my only complaint of the place. I'm so in love with this place!!! I'm not from this area, but I was visiting my husbands grandma down the street. They opened about a week ago and I guess this is new ownership. The place was super clean, private and customizable. I'm not used to the level of communication they had, so if that's important to you this is a good spot. My particular lady was really sweet and super skilled. Perfect amount of pressure and she hit all the spots I needed in the 60 minutes I had. I personally did a combo massage, as once I walked in I could tell it'll be worth the money. My biggest regret is not throwing down for 90 minutes, which is typically my regret when it's really good. I've had many friends get injured in a place like this. However, there are a rare few individuals who are just plain natural at providing an effective and efficient session. Laura is definitely one of those rare gems. I usually like 60 minutes or more but was pressed on time so 30 minutes is what I opted for. Quite honestly Laura did such an amazing job at hitting all the right spots with the perfect amount of pressure for just the right amount of time, that the 30 minutes was actually enough for me. I've found my new favorite spot! I used to go to another place but my regular masseuse has left the country and I had to find a new place. My first experience was positive to say the least. The establishment is clean and the prices are competitive. The owner is extremely nice and let me know I could always make appointments with my favorite masseuse. I don't like to leave negative reviews, especially for a small mom-and-pop business like this, but the way I was treated here was unacceptable. Let me start off by saying the masseuses here are great -- I've had Paris and Lisa previously and they are attentive, friendly, and good at what they do. The spa is clean, and I don't think you will be disappointed with a massage here. Unfortunately, on my visit here this week I believe I dropped my wallet in the parking lot as I was leaving, and drove away without realizing it. The next day, I called Ace Spa to see whether a Good Samaritan might have turned it in. Whoever answered the phone (I think it may have been Laura, who is also one of the owners) was incredibly rude for no reason. After I briefly explained what had happened, she said "What?!" in the most condescending tone. Taken aback, I repeated myself and asked whether anyone might have found my wallet. She immediately said "Nooo! We don't have your wallet" without even bothering to check. I said "Oh, okay, just wanted to see whether anyone might have turned it in," to which she said "Noooo!" in the same annoyed manner. I still thanked her but as I was hanging up, I heard her say "Stupid!" (And while maybe it was stupid of me to drop my wallet, that's not something a paying customer likes to hear!) So while the massages are good, that experience has really soured me on this place. I won't be coming back here again. P.S. I also called the restaurant "Ducks" right next door to the spa to check about my wallet, and the manager who answered the phone couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. He spent several minutes checking the store, spoke to his servers and asked for my name and phone number in case the wallet turned up.
