I had a horrible experience here. The first time I brought a car here, the test failed because I just changed my battery. The guy charged me for a failed test and charged me for a re-test. I later found out that most smog places won't charge if smog check fails. A year later I brought a different car to get tested. Car had some issues and I brought the issues up with the guy before starting the test. He started lecturing me about how I neglected my car, that I needed to make time in my life to take care of car issues, I'm going to need expensive repairs, and that my catalytic converter was shot. When I was trying to discuss steps to take so that my car can pass, he just cut me off and did not want to continue helping me. He made me feel very bad. I know that I am not perfect, but this guy does not know who I am or the struggles I go through. I thought that I would receive welcoming and professional treatment here. I wanted advice if prior check engine codes (check engine light turned off on its own after a good amount of driving) would fail the smog check or if repairs should be made prior testing. A professional technician of good character would have handled the situation differently and not humiliate me for neglecting my car. Fortunately, I found that professional technician of good character when I went to a different smog place. I explained the issues of prior check engine light problems and the guy said "lets test it. if it fails, I won't charge you." He tested it, and smog check passed. I will no longer return to Ace Smog Pros or refer anyone to them. read more

Called in and asked about the wait. He said no wait, got here and he was working on a car. He finished within 2 minutes and started my smog. Friendly guy, very personable and helpful. You can tell he is very good at his job. It is very hot today over 100f and he has no AC in the building but it's not unbearable. I called to check if they're open on a Saturday, and they're open until 2:30pm today. It didn't take long at all to get my smog check, but if there were to be a long wait, there is a cool thrift store across the street to check out, and some food spots nearby. Avoid this smog check station at all costs. First of all I had to wait at least 20 min. before he even took down any information about my vehicle. I could have understood the wait time if any other customers were in the shop but there wasn't! As I am waiting, towards the back of the shop, where my car is sitting, a "friend" of the owner is erroneously painting some old car parts. Now the shop reeks of paint and hopefully no overspray gets on my car. So finally, about 30 min. later he brings my car into the shop. As he is doing this another "friend" pulls into the shop and begins working on his Bronco. He finally hooks up my car for the smog check and 5 min. later he tells me it failed. He says this with a devilish grin on his face. He then informs me that it will cost me $61.00 and then proceeds to tell me that he KNEW it would have failed because his mechanical trained ear knew my catalytic converter was faulty. Thanks! $61.00 for information he had prior to trying to smog my vehicle. Do not go to this shop unless you are willing to donate money. If there was a negative rating, this place would have received it. read more

After realizing I needed a smog check at the last minute I hit the search button to find the nearest places. After calling one store that was closed and one that said the tech was on a 2 hour lunch I finally ended up seeing this one. Good reviews led me to call, got picked up after a couple rings and the guy told me if I came in now he would see me pretty quick as he was finishing another car up so I told him I would be there ASAP. Got there in about 10 minutes and another person had shown up just before me but the tech told them since I called he would have to take me first. I didn't expect that...and while I feel for the guy who wandered in but you gotta respect that this business considered my call as a reservation of sorts. After that, in and out in record time.
