The place has a weird smell when you first go in. Becka was a great sweet server who made sure all of our needs are taken care of. The water tasted as if it was from a faucet outside, so if I were you I would only drink bottled water. I don't quite understand why it's beloved by some people. My theory is that some retired people in the area just don't have any another "diner" experience in the area other than Waffle House. The license plate theme is cute or whatever but when it comes down to what really matters, the food, this place falls short. They do an ok job at breakfast but that's not too hard to follow thru on. Their food, whether it be to order or on the self serve bar is just plain and I wouldn't recommend anything on the menu. It's just a place to try if you're hungry and tired of chains. read more

The exterior has a fun concept; license plates from all over the country. We expected to walk in to see a continued "theme", yet the interior looked like the inside of a "Country Treasure's" store inside a mall mixed with a golden coral. The only thing we saw that continued with the "theme" was that their menu were made of two license plates, duct tape, and laminated paper. The waitress we had was very friendly, so that was nice! But.. everything that we ate seemed like it simply came from a freezer or was store bought and fried. Neat to look at while driving by, but I think we'll just keep driving next time. read more

In the area visiting a friend and went to Ace's for breakfast. I thought the menus were unique because the front and back were made out of license plates! Never seen that before. I ordered the egg & cheese croissant with bacon. It also came with breakfast potatoes. I liked how the bacon was chopped up inside the egg. The food was good, although the slice of American cheese was underwhelming. Service was good. Not a bad little place. read more

Loved Ace's they are just down home cooking. They serve breakfast all day which is great and convenient when you are running behind in your day. Me and my boyfriend each got one of the $10 plates. He got the waffle with bacon and I got the French toast with sausage. Sides didn't come with either plate, so I ordered some potatoes on the side. The food was good...but it cost us $23 for our meals, and I feel like for $10 a plate we should have at least gotten one side. The food wasn't good enough to justify the hefty price tag. Their lunch menu looks much more reasonable, so we will be back to try that. read more

It has been several years since the last time I had eaten here. The wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning after Christmas. Even though it had been years, it was just like I remembered it. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was pretty good. My biggest complaint is that the breakfast selections are not exactly what I would really like, and they don't offer a build your own option. We did not try the coffee, so I don't know if it is good or not. Prices appear to be a tad bit on the high side for what you get, but are not unreasonable. We will probably give it a try for lunch or dinner in the future. read more

Decided to try out the place as we couldn't find anywhere in the area without a long wait. Very cute simple little diner, I chose to go with a burger and I thought it was good. My 3 year old ate some chicken bites and I tried one and thought they were good as well. My husband got a steak and loaded As far as staff, everyone was super friendly and personable. I had fried green tomatoes and they came out hot and fresh and the best part not greasy. amazing. The salad bar is simple but filling and the sides bar, wow fresh beans, black eyed, limas, and a few other southern favs. we split a philly and it was filling, fresh hot fries. Home-cooked deliciousness! Your mama's cooking. We got three blackened dishes (fish, chicken, and shrimp) all very flavorful and not over powering. Fried catfish was a nice size piece of fish. Great place for a hot breakfast, I recommend the Milton Omelet, I have it every time I stop in for a bite to eat. Most of the time I have to take home a to go plate because I can't finish my meal, and I am a big guy. The only drawback as far as I am concerned is the lack of parking, they really need a bigger place with a huge parking lot. I have never passed the place when it wasn't almost completely filled up. Don't forget to have the home fries fully loaded, they are a great compliment to the omelet breakfast. read more

The staff is really friendly and knows the product. I love the breakfast the most and always my main complaint. But I don't have it at Ace's is they have flavored creamers. If they would upgrade the coffee from Lee Roy Hill. To Community Coffee or another premium coffee. It would really go a long way to the overall experience. read more

I love to come here. Husband loves the huge burgers, I like the soup and country fried steak. Food is tasty and service is very good. Not the cheapest place to go to for a quick bite, but we usually get out of the place with a less than $25 tab for dinner (no desert). read more

Living in Texas for over 25 years I was skeptical of trying the country fried steak but it was better than most I've had around the Houston area. went there based on our hotel desk clerks recommendations.. its not a fine dining, and they are popular with the locals. is simple food, looks family run, sandwiches looked good too. i had the special, beef tips (3/4" cubed pot roast in brown gravy) over white rice served in a soup bowl, can with two sides, waitress recommended the "broccoli and small round potato" ( had a funny name like eye balls.. ask for an extra pouch of sour cream for the potato's), for $7.99 also offered was country fried steak served with sausage gravy, and chopped steak (hamburger with brown gravy over it) read more

I love this restaurants food but I hate the service. I can understand a wait if the place is packed but if there are about five booths or tables filled, you would think it would take about five minutes for the waitress to come get our orders. It took 30 or more minutes and the only reason we had drinks was because of the hostess. It gets bad when you are close to leaving and going to Mcds because it is taking so long. When she finally gets to our table we are given the excuse that she was taking an order. For that long?? With that few ppl? We have been there twice for dinner had the same waitress and the same excuse. If it wasn't for the food I wouldn't go back. The food is awesome and the only reason they got an two stars instead of one. read more
