I was craving some crispy thin crust pizza and a friend recommended Ach-N-Lou's. Inside is very outdated but it's surprisingly very well maintained and cleaned. We came on a weekday and it wasn't very busy. We ordered at the counter and it took 15ish minutes before they called our name on the intercom. We ordered a large regular crust pizza with onions and mushrooms which was plenty for two people. The pizza came piping hot. The crust was solid and lived up to the extra crispy description. My only complaint is that it's cut in squares (triangles are superior).

    Taco pizza... So good!

I went on a weekday for lunch, and there were probably four other groups already eating. It's been many years since I've eaten here and the place still looks the same plenty of booths and tables to eat upfront, and a large room with tables to eat in back. We ordered a 13 inch taco pizza and a 10 inch pepperoni and sausage with original crust and I had them put the pepperoni on top. I was surprised on how fast we received our food I thought for sure it would probably take an hour and I think we got our food about a half hour. We loved the taco pizza tasted just like I remember it. The sausage and pepperoni pizza had a really good flavor to the sauce. The crust was a little thick for me. I wish I would've ordered the ultra thin. I am definitely going to return and try the ultra thin crust !!! I would definitely recommend this place!

Not BAD but surely not good... I'd suggest getting the pizza kits from Prisco's and making a pizza at home as you'll end get far better results. The pizza was just bland and unappetizing.

This is absolutely the BEST pizza I've had. We visited Chicago from Los Angeles for vacation. We ate Lou Malnattis but Ach-N-Lou's beats them by a mile. Fresh ingredients and quality product. This was the highlight of my trip. I recommend to anyone.

My pizza was rubbery and my wings were super soggy. They could have been cooked longer. Super disappointed.

I've lived in Chicago for 20 years. The best Chicago tavern style pizza is in Aurora at Ach-N-Lou's. The supreme is outright amazing.

We headed to Giardino for our post-theater dinner on Sunday. This was our second time at this…read morerestaurant and again, we enjoyed our dining experience. Two for two!! Our server today was Jackie, who provided good service and was personable and friendly. We started with cocktails, an old-fashioned for him and a bees knees for me. The bartender didn't quite get the bees knees to the right balance level with the honey, but I asked one of the staff to ask the bartender to add more honey. He kind of missed the mark on that cocktail unfortunately. In his defense, a lot of bartenders really don't know how to make a good bees knees. We ordered the meatballs and polenta to share as an appetizer. The meatballs rivaled my Italian dad's, and that says a lot because he made the best meatballs ever. The restaurant didn't serve grilled crostini with their meatballs like other places unfortunately, and there was no bread service. However, I believe they do have garlic bread on their menu that you can order For dinner my husband had the short ribs with gnocchi and I had the vodka rigatoni. Both of those dishes were delicious. I don't like short ribs but I gave it a taste - it was tender and delicious. My vodka rigatoni came with chicken for some reason (this 100% Italian would never put chicken with rigatoni alla vodka) so I nixed it. A half slice of garlic bread was served on each of our entrées. My husband's was perfectly grilled and mine was not. The one time I was getting bread and it turned out to be meh. We ordered a tiramisu to take with us to enjoy later that evening. It was light and heavenly. However, for the price, I think they could have offered a larger slice as it was a small 3 x 3 square. Having said that I love that we found a place that has good food just a five-minute walk from the theater. I think our fellow theater goers discovered this place, too, because the place was packed. Even with the slight things that I was disappointed in, I would return time and time again because the food is really good. Give this place to try!

We went there yesterday for dinner and continue to be delighted with the staff as well as the restaurant as a whole. I am always pleased with the staff. Our sever, Deven was on her game. She was quite knowledgeable and knew her menu well. She started us off with the Waygu Wellington Poptarts. The flaky crust that covered the melt in your mouth beef was extraordinaire. For my entree, I had the Blackened Salmon on arugula. This was combined with shaved almonds, strawberries, avocado, and blue cheese! Ever hear someone get excited about a salad? Yes it was that good. Husband had the Sous Vide half chicken with his coveted homemade mashed potatoes and carrots. My husband, the chef was not disappointed. And no meal is complete in his book without dessert. We had the Flourless Chocolate Torte. Quite heavenly. But what meal is complete without dessert? As always look forward to our next visit there!

Our favorite pizza is "the works" pizza without olives. I think we've ordered this twice now, and I say "I think" because it could've been more - my husband is the one who usually requests pizza like it's daily bread and naturally would do the ordering :) If you order "the works" without any modifications, it contains sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, bacon, mushroom, onion, green olives, black olives, and green peppers. We've only tried the pizza made with traditional thin crust, but they have different types of dough you can choose from for a slight upcharge: double dough, pan, stuffed, etc. This pizza is perfect because it checks the box for meats (him) and checks the box for veggies (me). We also order a side of marinara which comes in a little tub like a "cup" of soup; it is worth the $5 to dunk your crust in. That's how I will always order pizza, with extra marinara on the side. We've had their wings and a few other apps too. if you're ever in the mood for really good thin crust that holds up against the toppings and is still tastes right out of the oven when if you order delivery, maciano's is the place. They are perfect for game days, or really any occasion when you're craving really good 'za.
