Coming here to have dinner with my old friend and his wife after moving away from Chicagoland for 8 years. They have lots of steak options with big price tags. I chose a light dish with tuna. The dish has a nice presentation though not enough tuna slices.

our server was awesome. this place is a nice vibe for a date night, there's a cute little foyer near a fireplace where you can have a nightcap, and the food was 10/10. they have an expansive menu and all of the ingredients are fresh. must try!

A great spot to celebrate something special! Inside is very spacious with lots of different dining areas but reservations are still highly recommended since it seems like a popular spot. As for food, we had a little bit of everything. Our meal started with a complimentary bread basket filled with dinner rolls and crackers paired with a sea salt butter. We started with the Waygu pop tarts which were unique! Then we shared the beet salad and bison bone in fillet and finished with a slice of goat cheesecake (complimentary for birthday guests). The beet salad was a surprising favorite. The dessert was also super fluffy and delicious - a perfect way to end the meal.

Our friends live in the area and always come to the Turf room for celebrations. This was our second visit. It's a nice place. Good food. Good service. Feels little fancy. Especially in the back area where the tables are separated by black curtains and the lights are al ways low. The menu has some nice unique things like a meatloaf flight. That was great last time. This time I got steak and it was delicious. The cocktails never disappoint. The appetizers were great. We had a nice time.

Great service from the bartender (#9847) and a TREMENDOUSLY RARE VINTAGE OF 2014 ST. HELENA CAB made this a spectacular experience: Gallica 2014 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, St, Helena, Napa Valley, CA Premier Napa Valley, Auction 20, Lot No.125, 120 Bottles Produced Cabernet Sauvignon, Certified Organic, Mature 23 Year Old Vines, Single Vineyard! A bit too loud for me but GREAT company from Mon Ami YELP more than made up for that shortcoming!

First time visiting with a group of friends, overall welcoming and friendly vibe from start to finish. Drinks were freshly made, the Don Quijote a tequila based drink was delicious! Their martinis are also topped off right to the rim of your glass - drinker beware lol We ordered a variety of apps for the table, everything came out within a reasonable time. The hummus and beef stuffed puff pastry was a favorite. Entree for me was the jambalaya with spicy andouille sausage and Italian sausage - interesting take since it usually comes with shrimp. It was really good though. My only feedback is the our waitress came around less and less as the night went on, she would walk by our table but wasn't checking in. I had to constantly ask for my water to be filled and waited longer than anyone should just for a water refill. Overall good experience would definitely return.

We liked it. We loved the atmosphere, the rooms divided by heavy curtains and the real wood fire going near the bar area. Our server, Robert, while busy, was helpful and attentive. Our group of 5 got seated for our reservation promptly. Water arrived right away. Robert took our pre-dinner cocktails order. Drinks came about 10 minutes later and were great (Old Fashioneds, Wine etc.). We ordered our meals and I feel they came out in a reasonable period of time. My wife and I split the Beef Short Rib dinner. It's served with carrots and potatoes. The potatoes are think sliced, then put in a baking pan and cooked in an oven (I think), then browned on a flat top or in a skillet. The Short Rib was good. A bit dry, but good. The carrots - fine. The potatoes were a disappointment. While they looked amazing and crispy on the outside, as I was eating my first bite, there was quite a bit of crunch. Wasn't sure what it was. On the second bite, I figured it out. While the potatoes were very thinly sliced, then weren't cooked all the way through. Not even close. So this included side was not edible. I did mention it to our server, Robert and asked him to not replace it as we really didn't need it as we'd had bread and a salad before the main meal. Despite the issue with the potatoes, our group had a great time and I'd eat here again.

The ambiance & service at this restaurant are pretty commendable. The dark wood decor, well-spaced tables & chairs, a spacious bar area contribute to a pleasant dining experience, complemented by clean powder rooms. However, we found that the seasoning of some of the dishes we ordered varied, making them somewhat inconsistent in flavor. Some are underwhelming, but they have good presentations. We prefer delectable food over presentation! With an extensive menu, it certainly offers the potential for a great meal, so we look forward to trying more options next time we're in the area. Btw, although covered for the winter, the patio dining area is also inviting & has ample lighting if you prefer it over dark surroundings.

Everything was amazing. We only had drinks because we went somewhere else for dinner and was disappointed. So we came here where we knew it would be exactly what we wanted. Great drinks friendly staff and the food is excellent

Justin was my waiter. He did an exceptional job explaining the menu. He was courteous and the service was quick/efficient. Every course was delightful. I got the salmon it was cooked to perfection and the sides complimented it well. I also had the dark chocolate torte and it was decadent, so delicious. My two drinks were mocktails, I had a pomegranate mocktail and a watermelon lime mocktail which were well balanced. I really enjoy the ambiance here as well with the fire and dim lighting.

I love this place! The huge fireplace and gas lanterns throughout the dining area give the perfect ambiance for a cozy evening out from the cold. For lunch I ordered the peachy grilled cheese with Napa fries. What a decadent entree! The fries had delicious dried merlot seasoning and the grilled cheese was amazing with a peach compote that gave just the right amount of tang. Our servicer was excellent - bringing a complimentary cheese cake with candle for my friends birthday and ensuring our drinks were always filled.

It was really nice out so, naturally, we were at the outdoor bar/patio. What a delightful space: open, airy, ample seating, great staff. The biggest bummer is navigating inside for the bathroom but everything else is top notch. We're fans and will return again!

I'd love to share my full experience at Preservation but alas, there isn't much in the way of food…read moreor drink I can report on. The service however, is a different story. My friend and I arrived around 7:15pm this evening, Tuesday night, a weekday. We were greeted by a hostess in a full winter jacket and completely empty front room. She gave us the option to sit in said empty room or to follow her back to a "cozy heated area." We couldn't decide so we asked her to choose, and she led us down a long, narrow hallway to the back. There were three parties total in the indoor patio--us, another table of 2 and a large party of 8. Their outdoor patio was open, and with a view of it from the cozy room. The outdoor patio was festive with holiday lights, heaters and perhaps 3 people sitting at the bar. Many employees bustled back and forth through the door linking our two spaces. Our waitress brought us two glasses of water and food menus, pointed out the QR code menu on our table and walked away. That was our ONLY interaction with her. We proceeded to then sit for 15 minutes, watching our waitress, along with 3 other employees walk back and forth, attentively serving the large party, cleaning up a recently vacated back booth, chatting with one another and even saw another employee take a moment to vape inside near the POS system. We were ignored. No eye contact, no smile, no acknowledgment. It's as if we were not even there. For a slow Tuesday night, with ample staff, this was unacceptable. It grew so uncomfortable that we gathered our jackets and began to walk out. As we made our way back down the long hallway, the hostess, carrying a tray of waters, thanked us for coming in. Clearly there is a lack of awareness--or attention to detail. In what world would we have been able to order drinks, eat and pay our bill in less than 30 minutes since you seated us? But Finally! Someone noticed us. Too bad it was too little too late. We walked a block down to a different restaurant, and had an amazing time, spending more time & money than originally anticipated at that establishment, as a direct result of the poor hospitality and lack of service received at Preservation. Their loss was the Alchemist's gain.

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

It took a number of years but enterprising restauranteurs laid claim to appropriate buildings and neighborhoods opening places where you could actually get something interesting to eat. Hell, even BERWYN has a fine-dining joint (or 2)! The "3rd Street" corridor in Batavia is prima facie evidence this crusade is thriving, as there are a BUNCH of great places on that Rue to stuff your face in style, (and drink accordingly.) We've been working our way down the street; as I have been in the mood for French, Le Cochon was high on the list. It was late afternoon when I and a foodie pal of mine visited. The rooms were at once light, open and airy, yet personal. The bar was adjacent and it looked heroically stocked. The waiter was personable and pleasant. The menu shouted "Bistro", and actually was sort of irritating, 'cos even after poring over it online before, everything looked so good I couldn't make up my mind! But rules are rules, and I have mine. When I go into a place for the first time, I always try to get the specialty of the house. As this is a "bistro" I finally swung with the Escargot and Steak Frites. Cliche'd, I know, but c'est le cuisine. My pal bucked tradition and went with a Burger. I should say here the house is known for a Pork Belly dish, but Belly of Pork (unless it's cured into Bacon) is a protein I will not eat. There's not much I won't stuff down my gullet, but Pork Belly is one. I just don't like that much fat. The good news? More for YOU! But I digress... The 'Scargots were classic in prep and top-notch in quality. As expected there was a lagniappe course in sopping pieces of the excellent baguette provided from the bread service in the garlicky butter remaining after munching the snails. It was a Hanger Steak wot arrived on my plate replete with an herb-y compound butter. I ordered the steak "Rare-Bleu", and it was the perfect temp, even with serious char marking. The steak was chunk-cut when served. I blessed the chef for seasoning the steak deftly. The Frites came with ketchup and aioli, they were great. There was nothing out of the ordinary about my pals burger, but he IS a knowledgeable foodie and reported it was delicious. Burgers are pretty easy to do, but to get one of championship quality takes skill. Notable were the two rashers of excellent, thick Bacon hanging over the sides of the sandwich. The chef here hit the mark! The Predominantly French WineList is dizzying expensive for bottles. My pal is an experienced oenophile and says the list shows care, but Oy! the prices! He's a very successful businessman, and even HE thought the prices were high. In contrast, the "per glass" prices were normal. LeCochon IS in a posh neighborhood, after all. I had a glass of Rhône blend which was hand-in-glove with my steak. Flavors outasite! Fine coffee and a classic Crème Brûlée for afters. I know somewhere behind the bar they prolly had a Calvados, which would have topped the meal off with a gold ribbon, but I was driving, and there are many miles between LeCochon and Stately Breakwind Manor. A wonderful feed, and a surprisingly good value considering the high quality. I'll bet that "light and airy" vibe turns quite romantic after dark; but know the tables are actually quite cozy together. There are a few booths available-try to snarf one of those if you're on a date. Throwing 5 for this super boîte. Eat here soon!
