I called last night for some help for a first time general inquiry. The person picking up was informing me that I was not the driver of the seat if I did not have the location and the money to be qualified as an applicant. His tone was condescending and he was a regular sales person who's trying to sell services like a regular business transaction. In a tough time like this, The guy who is helping said sorry but he didn't show any type of empathy in his tone of voice or demeanor. This is so disappointing finding a five-star place who treats you like trash. They don't value your business. He kept repeatedly insisting that I have to be qualified. His exact words was " you're not the driver of the sea until you give me the location of the person who is in custody and you are qualified. Qualified meaning you have the money." Nonetheless does he know who I am over the phone so he made a judgment but thats okay. I inform the older poorly trained gentlemen Ill do my best to make a honest review. I found a company named Alvarado who treated me like a family member. The best part was that Alverado was able to match the eight percent that this terrible company ACME was offering that they were trying to upsell and trying to use harsh sales ways to force the customers to give them the payment information. I called them to help me to bail out someone and they sent an agent out, Angela, to speak to him. They badgered him to get a family member to co-sign, even though they were already forewarned that there was no one in the family to co-sign as there has been enmity between them. They also applied/spoke to their insurance agent about the bond, including false confirmations of cash collateral. They claimed I confirmed the amount when I had only tried to get an understanding of how they came up with the amount they told the person in jail when they had previously agreed to the 10% bond without collateral. When I tried to get the bond with someone else, they had issues because the insurance company, which both bond places use, had already received a request from ACME. When I called ACME on it, they lied and claimed they never spoke to the insurance company. The other bond company was able to prove to me the insurance company was already tainted against the bond because of them. read more

I contacted ACME since because of the perfect 5 star, well... someone dropped the ball and that perfect review is out the window. Our first call was made around 4pm Sat. then Tom said the jail would not pick up the phone and he couldn't get the info. I followed up with another call, same response and I thought they would sent an agent down to the jail house and really attempt to resolved the issue. A few hours more have pass, he snapped and told me that they would be coming to me. ?? I'm not sure what that meant. Given them the benefit of a doubt that MAYBE the jail house system was down and I'd already gave away my CC info, I called back at 5am (yes 14 hours later) Alfred had no clue about out situation. So no communications between shift change what so ever. Alfred processed the bail right away without any indication of any "jail system issues" but he did fail to inform me to not shown up until later that afternoon. So I waited 6 hours in DTLA and my love one was release 22 hours after I first contacted ACME. Not only the first agent made light of our situation, the whole operation was a complete fail that day. Stay Away. The past 24 hours have been more difficult than need be due to their rude agents and incapable customer representatives. Spoke with Rudy Camacho who began taking all of my information. He said he would get my info, compile the documents, send them to me to docusign and get the process started on their side. As he is asking for my information, he asked for my social. Given the type of documents, I assumed it was standard procedure to validate my identiy . Nope, as of today, I see that he pulled my credit report ILLEGALLY without asking or being given the authority to do so. I then provided credit card information and he said it would take 30 minutes and he would get back to me. An hour later, he calls me indicating the card must've got flagged as fraud and needed a different card. I provided him with a credit card. 5K flat, no additional "credit card processing fees". 5K for the service requested. Documents and contract for service are finally emailed to me, I sign them and have no response from anyone at ACME. I called back to find next steps and they advised they are working on the processing. At the same time, I receive a call from another bail bond company, that unbeknownst to me, my boyfriend had already started working with. I called ACME to tell them I need to cancel the request for service and Esmerelda said "Uh ok, let me see what I can do and get back to you". 45 Minutes later, no call. I call back to find out what the status is and apparently they had dispatched their agent to post the bond DESPITE my request to cancel the service requested.They advised there is nothing they can do, because they took my money it was a done deal. I called the cashier at the Jail and he advised that Inmates can actually reject bonds. Boyfriend ends up rejecting ACME because he had not worked with them, point blank period. Need I remind you that I called to cancel the service request when I found out he contacted a company on his own. The ACME agent that posted the bond calls me and starts berating me. Yelling and cutting me off, declaring that he knows my boyfriend is being poached and that I still owe him 2 thousand dollars for his time and that I signed a contract. George then called me from ACME, probably the only civil person I spoke to. He wanted to know if there was anything that could be done to retain the contract. I advised it was my boyfriends decision, I don't know the details other than he was working with another company. THEN Rudy Camacho calls me and indicates that although the bond was NOT used, he is still going to charge me for dispatching his agent and for the initial credit card processing fee in addition to the processing fee that they have to incur due to it being 'canceled'. The payment STILL hasn't posted to my account so all that has to be done is it need to be VOIDED. I told him that his agent called me and was yelling at me/berating me telling me I OWED HIM 2k for his time. Need I remind you, I called in to have the service cancelled yet ACME still dispatched their agent to try and keep the sale. He kept saying that I signed a contract although the contract is only valid for SERVICES RENDERED. No services were rendered, the contract only stands if the inmate was released on ACME's bond. Today, I called RUDY to understand why the transaction isnt being VOIDED. The contract is no longer valid because there were NO services rendered. The bond was voided, I tried to cancel yet ACME ignored my request. Rudy yelled at me, told me i should be thanking him and continued to say I signed a contract yet could not point out where these miscellaneous fee's were listed in the contract nor could he provide me with amounts that we're being charged to me. Rudy has made this experience with ACME the worst, his lack of empathy and understanding is very apparent. Rudy and Tom both tried to strong arm me into agreeing to pay them for their time, which was not included in the contract. The bond DID NOT GO THROUGH, and on their own accord decided to ignore my request to cancel the need for their service. Rudy is still refusing to refund me the whole amount, he started with a $600 I would not be refunded, then said miscellaneous processing fees with no amount and is now saying they are keeping 10% as a service fee which was not stated ANYWHERE In the contract that is no longer valid ANYWAYS. The credit card authorization form literally says "I understand that the Bail Bond Premium has been earned in full upon the release of said defendant from jail." under their bond. We did not use their bond therefore I no longer authorize this request. Rudy refuses to let me speak with any other managers and urged me to report this to the DOI if I have problems with how they practice business and serve their customers. read more

Literally circling up as we try to help our friend who is probably very scared. They were like ambulance chasers. My husband and I decided not to use them and turn to Yelp. This company is incredible and were so helpful from start to finish. As soon as we got a hold of them, they were on it. Constantly checking the status of my fiancé and giving me updates. I was unable to recieve a phone call from my fiancé for almost 48 hours and was worried sick. Once I heard from him and found out his bail had been reduced I contacted ACME and they kept me informed on all his inmate status updates. Once my fiancé was released on bail Johnny came to our house to fill out paperwork. He was awesome!! He gave us some great advice and references.
