Afterwards, they blew the fans for 3 days and left no trace of the grey water. I would highly recommend them.

I discovered mold in one of my bedrooms at the end of December. I looked around Yelp and decided to…read moretry Zimax based on their high review score. I talked with Milan who told me that I should check with a mold company to make sure there's mold first before doing any construction work. The mold company came out and confirmed, there's definitely excess moisture. They gave me a quote to do mold remediation and I was thinking of using them instead but I was told that they wouldn't do the reconstruction/repair after the mold remediation. So I came back to Zimax. They provided me with a very similar quote to the other company for mold remediation. I liked that Zimax would be able to do both the mold remediation and the repair afterwards. I accepted Zimax's quote and Milan was able to schedule me in for mold remediation quickly. They came on a Tuesday. They removed the drywalls and found that there were multiple leaks from the windows. They set up everything in one day. They set up a paper walkway so that they wouldn't track any dirt into the house. Everything was done very professionally. Friday, they came back and removed their equipment. I was told that the next step is to do water testing to determine all the spots where there were leaks. They did some testing but then told me that more testing was needed. They were gonna come on Monday, but they were able to squeeze me in on Saturday instead. They found all the multiple leaks coming from two windows. I wanted them to start immediately, but there was a bit of delay with their scheduling. I guess with how good these guys are, they must be swamped. But Milan did his best to schedule me in asap. Friday, they came and patched the leaks. Then on Saturday, they came to water test to make sure there were no more leaks. Once they confirmed no leaks, they started the repair work that same day. Everything was pretty much completed on Saturday. Last step was painting. They painted on Monday and we were told that the paint just needed about two hours to dry and it would be good. Overall, a very pleasant and professional experience. This is the kind of company I want to work with for anything I might need. They provided accurate information and was courteous. Everyone showed up on time, ready to work. I was impressed with the end results and the work that they did.

His team set up a solid containment, performed the work to scope, and passed clearance testing with a third party company. They also offered to leave their containment up (including some temp poles) for the duration of my build-back project. The team was careful of my house during the demo which involved carrying large, heavy pieces of shower glass down some stairs and through some turns. The only downside I found during the process was the need to pay for the site visit for the quote. This payment is credited to the bill and it wound up being a non-issue due to selecting BH environmental for the job, but none of the other companies I had out requested payment for the quoting visit.

None of this process was communicated clearly to us. I appreciate the owner's effort to make it right with a refund of the fee. I wouldn't even recommend requesting an estimate from these people. I wish I hadn't. The star is because someone technically came out. They were the only ones who charged a fee to come out, and their inspector spent a total of maybe 50 seconds in the bathroom that had water damage. The person who came out told us would have an estimate within a day, and no estimate. Unlike the other companies that came out, he made no inquiry about the age of the house or mention of required asbestos testing. Overall, his visit did not inspire confidence that any estimate we did get (if we got one) would be valid or accurate (not require change orders). Maybe the reason why some reviewers say they're cheaper is that they cut corners? (We wouldn't know as we never got our estimate.) We were really dissatisfied even with our (extremely brief) visual inspection experience. Communication with respect to the process was not good (as we don't know what's going on). Clearly my short list selection process failed me here. ETA: Apparently they were waiting on payment for the estimate (no one made clear what this process was), which we finally got, and indeed did not include asbestos testing.

That level of diligence made hiring them an easy choice. And, they had competitive rates. On the day of the work, Robert arrived with another skilled worker (I believe it was Hector), and they both did an excellent job. I especially appreciated that they took photos before (for the estimate) and after, ensuring transparency and peace of mind. Despite overseeing a major job elsewhere, Robert still made time to check on progress. Their work was finished a few days before the big storm. We're happy with the results and highly recommend Ameriflood!

Ameriflood truly deserves zero stars. I don't think they are competent and should be in business at…read moreall. When they came to my home, I was suffering from chronic mold sickness (shortness of breath in addition to many more horrible chronic symptoms), which was explained to them numerous times. They came out and tested using a mold testing protocol and found mold in the air. For an accurate test, the protocol is to not have any windows open, doors open, or fans on for 24 hours prior to testing. This is standard protocol for obtaining an accurate mold air test. After they found the first leak, they tore out the drywall around it. I then watched Ameriflood spray down the entire rooms walls and floor with a very harsh industrial fungicide that is only intended for spot-treating actual mold. This product is dangerous for people who are already experiencing breathing issues from mold. It is not recommended for residential use, and there are a bunch of natural, non-toxic products they could have used. This product when overused dries and leaves an even more dangerous dust. Ameriflood then covered the rooms walls and floor with plastic all around and wanted to keep a HEPA filter running in the sealed room right up to the testing time. I protested that it wouldn't be accurate, so they agreed to turn off the machine 24 hours prior. They then tested, and the result was more mold! They tore up more of the room and found more leaks. They sprayed down the entire room with chemicals AGAIN! Now the room increasingly started to smell like cheese. They finally realized they had trapped a ton of water under the wood flooring, so they tore that up. They then sprayed down the entire room with Shockwave AGAIN! They sealed the walls and everything with plastic again and they ran two industrial HEPA filters in the room. Despite knowing I was not comfortable with it, and there being a giant wet puddle of chemicals in the middle of the room, they turned off the 2 hepa filters for just one minute, conducted a mold test, and took the filters away. The results-Zero mold. Of course! 2 Industrial Hepa Filers were running and the room interior is covered with plastic. I cant express how disrespectful that was, all considering. I protested that there was no way a test like that could be accurate and the room smells like Cheese! Meanwhile, I was getting sicker! And I was actively communicating this to them. They then came to test again. Results: MOLD! They finally tore out the drywall in the closet that I had been asking them to look behind the entire time. There, they found mold and a leak I had pointed out as a potential issue months prior. They also sprayed Shockwave again! I got sicker. I hired another mold testing company because Ameriflood was providing fraudulent testing. Finally another mold specialist told me all about Shockwave and how no one should use it the way it was being used and how it negatively impacts the health of people who already have complications from mold. Its a know issue. This guy said, people genearlly dont use it residentially anymore because it is not healthy. After finding this out; I asked Ameriflood all about it and they confirmed, they use Shockwave because its industrial grade. Bragged about how it kills everything! I feel the manager and employees totally disregarded the facts regarding my situation from day 1 and from all my research completely misused a highly volatile dangerous chemical product in my HOME! In my experience, Ameriflood was grossly incompetent and engaged in dangerous, fraudulent work. They acted dishonestly, misled me, and weren't accountable. People reach out to them for help, and we put trust in them. It is sad that companies like this exist; I do not think its fair that they do exist and that there isnt proper regulation so that this company can be held accountable. I have documented everything! Please reach out to me, if you as well have had a similar experience with Ameriflood. I would like to know about it as I believe we can collaborate in helping do something about it. I believe what they have done is truly illegal, or at least should be. Don't be gaslit, people!

His crew is professional, punctual, and patient. I'm an over-planner and worrier, but Danny and Daniel were always patient, kind, and thorough in their explanations, putting my mind at ease. Frank was also always accessible over the phone and text message if I had additional questions about scheduling and the scope of work. The company also offers general construction services, and Frank offered a bid to patch an exterior stucco wall that our plumber had to get into. Based on our positive experience with the concurrent moisture mitigation work, we decided to contract with Frank on the patching project, too. And then they created a containment center in both affected areas that had CDC energy! It immediately gave me confidence that they were going to take the job seriously and I was in good hands. At one point, I realized the downstairs carpet padding hadn't been removed (after they had already left for the week on a Friday), and I assumed I'd be stuck waiting until Monday. Instead, they turned around and came back within minutes to fix it. That kind of customer service is not something I experience often. Their quote was definitely higher than the other company I got an estimate from, but I felt like they were the ones who were going to do it right and not cut corners. I feel good knowing I won't have to worry about hidden moisture or mold down the line. Huge shout-out to Danny, who gave me the estimate and led the job, super professional and clearly knows his stuff. And Daniel, who felt like his right-hand guy, was incredibly respectful and kind. Honestly the whole team was great. I rarely walk away from vendors feeling this satisfied, but they really lived up to their name. Highly recommend.

As such, we contacted Rapid Quality Leak Detection and spoke with Carson. Given that it was still storming, he said he'd reconnect when it was dry to schedule a leak detection test. Carson was incredibly responsive despite the holiday season and reached out to me as soon as the forecast cleared to get something in the books - I did not have to go out of my way to get something scheduled. When Rapid Quality Leak Detection showed up, they were quick, efficient, and friendly. They inspected our property and were able to quickly identify what part of the windows were leaking. It was likely an easier task given we had a strong hypothesis on where the leaks would be, but nevertheless Carson and his partner were professional and fast. After we get our windows fixed, we will almost certainly be calling Rapid Quality Leak Detection again to get the repairs tested!

They said since the building is older, the pipes needed replacing, which would have cost us thousands to replace. I was surprised that the two people that were sent seemed on the younger side and probably didn't have much experience. I would have liked to see more tenure in this domain. We paid them for the time and effort. Note: this is a year old review, cleaning up my drafts.
