They came in and ran a bunch of tests. Unfortunately, they did not accurately detect the source of the leak. They said since the building is older, the pipes needed replacing, which would have cost us thousands to replace. Since it cost so much, we wanted another opinion and called another company to take a look. Turns out it was a broken leaky washing machine. The washing machine is fixed and no more leaking. I was surprised that the two people that were sent seemed on the younger side and probably didn't have much experience. I would have liked to see more tenure in this domain. On Christmas Eve, two of our windows started leaking. We immediately called window repair places and were told that we would need a leak detection test before window repairs could begin for warranty purposes. As such, we contacted Rapid Quality Leak Detection and spoke with Carson. Given that it was still storming, he said he'd reconnect when it was dry to schedule a leak detection test. Carson was incredibly responsive despite the holiday season and reached out to me as soon as the forecast cleared to get something in the books - I did not have to go out of my way to get something scheduled. When Rapid Quality Leak Detection showed up, they were quick, efficient, and friendly. They inspected our property and were able to quickly identify what part of the windows were leaking. It was likely an easier task given we had a strong hypothesis on where the leaks would be, but nevertheless Carson and his partner were professional and fast. Had a leak between the service main and shutoff to the house. The pipe runs under my artificial turf. Josh and team carefully peeled by the turf (without any damage) and quickly and professionally located the leak. They then replaced the turf and marked the leak area. With no signs of water damage, I had no idea where it was or what disaster might be right around the corner. Carson came over asap, and within an hour, he had determined that the leak was in a cold water copper pipe under our foundation. Mom is 90 years old, so I asked him to keep me in the loop with any questions or findings, which he was great about. He conducted his tests, which included indoors and outdoors, and within an hour he was done. Before, during and after, he coordinated both with my mom at the house and, separately, with me by text and phone. I appreciated the extra time and trouble he went to in order to keep us both in the loop and explain everything slowly and clearly. She told me to try it out and I thought my water bills was high so we gave them a call, come to find out the pipe was leaking causing a sink hole under my drive way. I had tried plumbers but they could never figuere it out. He pointed it out to the plumber and sure enough it was fixed. I hate to write this type of review but I think it will benefit others. Finding the right person for the job has been difficult in itself. I called to schedule a leak detection which they told me that's what they specialize in. I specifically asked if they would open the walls to find the leak as I already had an idea that it might be necessary. The guy said yea but only as a last resort after other tests. The guy came out and did a pressure test which came out fine. Then he was going to open the wall in which I had an issue. Went to his truck then came back saying he didn't have the tools because he had been in an accident a few weeks back and it wasn't the truck he normally drives. This didn't really make a whole lot of sense to me as opening up walls is normal in trying to find a leak and I had also asked that when I spoke to him before I scheduled him. He asked if he could come back tomorrow at 1pm; I agreed. The next day, like an hour before he's supposed to arrive he sends me a text apologizing saying he won't be able to make it because his kid had accident and he is currently in the ER with him. He asked to reschedule for either the following day or the day after that. Of course I said that was fine, we rescheduled to two days from the original visit. I asked if it could be in the morning if possible. Didn't hear back from him that day. The next day I asked to confirm the time for our appointment. Didn't hear back from him and hasn't reached back out since. I tried to be flexible given the circumstances but he just either did not know how to do a leak detection or did not care to help me. Either way this is very unprofessional and he wasted my time. I would not recommend this business. read more

My water bill came in the mail and noticed I have a water bill 4 times higher than my previous 2 months. I walked the house and yard, I didn't notice any water anywhere so I called a plumber, he checked all around too and he said it's possibly a "slab leak" and told me to call a leak detector so he didn't have to break open different areas to try and find leak. I didn't know that there was such thing as a "leak detector." Anyway, I looked on Yelp and found a few companies and this guy was available the next morning. Josh came out the next morning took out some inspection camera thing and scanned the floors and found a hot area in the kitchen under refrigerator. Once he figured out the area he tracked the pipes under the bathroom floor and then started listening to that area and brought out some tape and marked the spot. I didn't understand how he came for an hour used his equipment, marked the spot where the leak is. The next day plumber came and broke the floor where he marked and there was a pinhole in that exact spot. Amazing work . Blew me away. I couldn't. Highly recommend!! read more

We had wet carpet at the doorjamb to the hall bath. No water on the tile in the bathroom, just on the carpet under the jam, and we are on a slab. It didn't make sense to me, so we called our plumber, Ton'y's Plumbing. I explain the problem to Angie, and how we cannot find any water leaking anywhere and she says you need to call Josh at Rapid Quality Leak Detection. I was a bit concerned because I did hear from him that day, but found out he was really, really busy. We talked the next day and set up a date for him to come out with his leak detecting gear. After using all the leak detecting "toys", no leak was found, but Josh hung in like a true professional and by turning of toilets, he finally determined that the toilet was the culprit, not the sink, not the shower. He said there was most likely a leak in the wax toilet fitting (there was) and that Tony's Plumbing would handle that. They did and it's all done now and we are happy. But it all started with Josh, and Angie, and thank goodness we didn't have to break concrete or rip out tile! Crisis averted. Thanks Josh. read more

I have a mystery water leak. The data from the water department shows thousands of gallons a day flowing starting near the end of August and dropping a little every day for a month and then going back to normal. Very strange. I have had four plumbers out to look at my residence. I have no leak, I have a huge leak, I need re-piping, it's already been re-piped. The leak is definitely between the laundry room and the master bath. Two of the four (with contradictory findings)had metal rods that transmit vibrations to an amplifier, meter and headphones. I did some research and decided I didn't need a plumber I needed a leak locator with sophisticated equipment. I called RQLD and got an appointment the following day - a Saturday. The technician checked every that had previously been checked, but more carefully. He got out his first bit of equipment. It seemed like an amplifier based stethoscope. It lead him to a drip, visually plain as day in one of the showers. It was from a long unused steam source. Across the hall from the laundry room. $350 total charge. The best part; he isn't a plumber! No incentive to quote $15k for a re-pipe. Unfortunately I think this is "a" leak, not "the" leak. I was told to get it fixed and without that sound in the way they can trace any remaining leak. I highly recommend them. read more

We're in the Riviera. Had pinhole leak in main between the Cal Water meter and house. Josh came out same day and pin pointed it in a half hour or so.
