A True Gem in Cobble Hill! Leaving our dog Sadie for the first time while going abroad was incredibly nerve-wracking. She's our baby, and the thought of being away from her for so long had my husband and me both anxious. Thankfully, we found Canine Corner, and from the moment we walked in, we knew she was in loving, capable hands. The team at Canine Corner went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. They were kind, patient, and completely understanding of how hard it is to leave your pup behind. Every update we got while we were away reassured us that Sadie was having an amazing time -- and judging by how she pulls us toward their door every time we walk by, I think it's safe to say she had a blast! I especially want to thank Lucas, who truly went the extra mile for us. We were stuck in terrible traffic on our way back into the city and were panicked we wouldn't make it in time to pick up Sadie before closing. Excellent place to bring your Fur babies! We love taking Mia to Caine Corner just for 1/2 day service so she could play with other dogs and get puppy time she comes home so tired out. I especially love how meticulous cleanliness and serene atmosphere is the dogs are well cared and loved. My hubby surprised me with an overnight today so we need to use them as an overnight boarding and they were very accommodating. Upon seeing the sleeping area and the attention to the meticulously clean place I knew my Mia would be fine not caged they have their suite like rooms. My dog, my husband, and I love Canine Corner. It's a tad expensive but worth it if you want the best care for your dog. From their wonderful new hire, Devaney, at reception to Janelle and other awesome staff literally sitting with the dogs all day in the pen, they keep the atmosphere healthy and harmonious. I truly feel that my pit mix, Henry, has learned how to be a healthy, sociable dog from his weekly visits and occasional boarding at Canine Corner. When I pick him up from Monster Mutt or any other doggie day care center, he is rowdy and crazed and doesn't listen to me (plus there's always so much barking elsewhere). When I pick him up from Canine Corner, he is calm, tired from a long day of fun, and in a good headspace. Ok let me just start by saying Michele has been grooming my dogs since 2001, when we got our first Yorkie, when she had her own place on Henry St. We then got another Yorkie in 2012 and she was grooming both until my first one passed. She since moved to Canine Corner and has been grooming my current Yorkie who is 8 now and a nervous dog. Michele has been grooming her her whole life. She has told me on occasion she is difficult to groom because of her anxiousness. This past June I called to set up an appointment and my call went right to VM. I thought it was strange but left a message that was never responded to. Then I texted her, as I usually do sometimes, and I noticed "delivered" never appeared under the text. The next day, I called again from my phone and once again straight to VM, two seconds later, I tried calling from my husbands phone and BINGO, the call went through and she answered. I said "Michele did you block my number by any chance" and she said "NO I would never do that, I don't even know how to". (Yea right!). So we made an appointment for my nervous girl. After grooming Michele called (she obviously unblocked me to do that) said again how hard she is to groom. Fast forward to today when I try to text and call her again and same thing, I'm BLOCKED. How unprofessional can she be! All these years I have known how crass she can be and know many people who would NOT go to her for her bad attitude alone. I always attributed her bad attitude as to one of those people that likes dogs better than humans. I find it very hard and am truly disappointed that she couldn't talk to me personally and tell me, after all I have been going to her for literally 19 years! To me this is extremely unprofessional behavior. It may honestly be time for you to retire Michele. read more

Caine Corner has been our go to pet daycare for several months now. The staff has been absolutely delightful to work with and my little Mia does not come back stressed out rather pooped out after being in this environment for a few hours or for the day. We always have found the facility to be spotlessly clean even when dogs do their little business they're quick to mop it up and it always seems extremely serene inside. It's always a good ratio of people versus dog which is comforting to know since my Bichon poodle is a puppy some of the larger dogs could easily overwhelm her but there's a good chemistry amongst the pets and humans. We recommend but not too much because I always want to space for my dog when I need it. read more

Canine Corner is owned by the fine folks at The Peaceful Pack (Mark and James). I booked an appointment for my Sheltie Clemens to be groomed. I was so pleased with the entire experience. The groomer Dominique did a wonderful job. I am very fussy about my pup and I asked for a "show grooming" which is a very specific task with a Sheltie. Down to the most minute detail, Dominique made my dog look just like a show dog (he's a rescue but of course is treated like royalty in my household ). :-) The price was reasonable and the overall experience very pleasant. I will be bringing my dog back for all his grooming needs. I also board him with James and he's very well cared for. BTW, while I was there, I could see the dogs that attend the doggy day care and extended stay boarding. There was always a person in the large, clean space with the dogs. We found out about this place from a friend of a friend. It's pretty new, which I think is why it doesn't have reviews, and I'm not sure we would have found it--man are we glad we did! Ditto is as happy as can be at Canine Corner. He's a very social dog and always comes home exhausted from playing his little Havanese heart out. We've taken him for daycare three times and recently picked him up from his first overnight boarding stay, which we like to call "sleepaway camp." He's started to recognize the route to the place and pulls to get there faster. When we arrive he paws at the door, which we take as a very good sign that he's pumped to be going. The staff there are super friendly and helpful and very responsive by phone and email. Not only are they loving with the pets in their care, they're also sensitive and patient with those pets' neurotic parents. Therese was happy to email me photos of Ditto while we were away from him this weekend and to keep me posted about a problem he was having with his eye, which improved under their care. While other kennels leave dogs alone at night, relying on cameras to let them know if anything goes wrong, Canine Corner has someone with the dogs 24-7, so there's always someone there if a pet gets sick or there's some other emergency. During his boarding time Ditto also got a bath and a trim, and came home to us both looking and smelling fabulous. Canine Corner also has some great treats. We love their hooves--or I should say, Ditto loves their hooves, and we love that we can eat dinner without having to defend it from the dog. We wish this place were in our neighborhood, but it's worth the subway trip with dog in tow to know he's someplace where he's happy and safe. read more

My dog lives for daycare at Canine Corner so much so that we can't walk past the block without going in. The weekday staff is incredible and take really good care of my pup. You can tell they genuinely care and my dog is completely obsessed with them. Ernest at the front desk is a complete joy. One star off because the only downside is the weekend staff. As much as we love CC I hate bringing my dog on the weekend because the front desk guy is very hostile and unpleasant. He's very rough with my dog which is hard to watch. In all honesty I wish he didn't work here as I've never had an encounter with him where I didn't leave feeling worse. @Management everything else is right with this place. We were already using the Peaceful Pack for walking services so when we needed to board our little toy poodle Fozzy, we obviously went to Canine Corner. During the day the dogs are kept in a large, open, clean space that is visible to all the doggy parents. There is staff with the dogs the entire time; quickly cleaning up any messes, playing and keeping the dogs active, and providing training. They also provide places for the dogs to rest and plenty of water. Fozzy is a little timid so we were happy that he would be able to have that socialization. I remember the first time we dropped him off he scurried into a corner and cowered as all the dogs came over to say Hi, but when we came to pick him up he had his tail up running around with the other dogs. The staff is very friendly and scheduling boarding is smooth and easy. read more

My experience with their customer service was less than great due to the simple fact that they didn't bother to take the time to read and communicate, resulting in a big waste of my time. First time was when I registered online and provided all the required vaccination records via email for daycare services, and the receptionist replied very quickly to tell me that my dog was not up to date on his bordetella vaccine. He in fact is and all she had to do was scroll to the second page of the attachment I had sent. Second time, once they saw that my dog was up to date on all his vaccinations, I received a call from the owner to setup a temperament test with him. I arrived on time and was prepared for my dog to meet with him. After having me wait for a few minutes, expecting the owner, an employee comes out and starts explaining the test. He eventually asks how old my dog is and if he's been fixed. I said that he had not since our vet recommended waiting until he was older. The employee responded (as in spoke over me) saying he was unsure whether he could do the test with my dog or not and that he needed to consult his boss (whom I had spoken to earlier that day to setup the meeting). His boss, the owner, decided against conducting the test and allowing my dog into daycare due to the fact that my dog had not been fixed yet... AGAIN, if they had bothered to read through my information, they would've clearly seen that my dog was not fixed since I indicated that on my dog's registration! If not being fixed is a deal breaker, then that should've have been their first question or addressed immediately before setting up any in person meeting. I have no issue if it's their policy but then make that clear. They wasted my time and were unapologetic about it when I brought it up as feedback. read more

The best place for dog boarding in Brooklyn. Small, unassuming place, but these people just love dogs. Case in point: last visit, i picked up my dog after a couple days of boarding, and the guy who brings me my dog says "is everything ok with his mouth?" I have no idea what he is talking about, but don't really want to show that i don't pay as much attention to my dogs mouth as this guy does. So i try to play it off until he points to a growth in the back of his mouth along his gum line that i had never seen before. The next week, i took him to the vet, and they showed me that it had to be removed, and that it had been there for long enough to cause the decay of a tooth that also needed to be removed! Poor puppy. Very grateful for canine corner for spotting this for us before it got any worse. Your dog is in great hands at canine corner. read more

The Canine Corner has been caring for my dog, a Belgian Malinois, since he was a young pup. It's not always easy to find a place that is willing to take such a high drive breed. He it s now 8 months now and they still are happy to take him with open arms. They even accommodated him when he had a laceration on his leg and my husband and I were going to be our of town for about a week and took him to his bandage changes at the vet. I even utilize the daycare service from time to time and I have to say it really saves the day for me sometimes. With a high drive puppy like a Belgian he requires lots of attention and when you are sick in bed, stacked with work, or need to get that 20 mile run in for marathon training and can't leave the naughty dog at home alone- and certainly won't be in the mood to deal with him when you get home...daycare days are the perfect solution and he comes back tired and sleepy! If I could afford it I would use it more often. The Canine Corner is an invaluable resource and am so thankful I found them, and my dog definitely loves the place he does the "Butt wag" when walking inside. read more

I can tell my pup had a great time and was so well taken care of at this place. I had recently taken him to another dog daycare in Brooklyn, which I was unimpressed with, so I was hoping that Canine Corner would make me feel confident in leaving Remus in their care. It was our first time coming here so we met with James for a temperament test - James was very kind and welcoming and extremely knowledgable about dog behavior! He gave me some ideas for curbing some of my dog's teenage behavior - but he does it in a very educational, not condescending way. The way he evaluated Remus' behavior around the other dogs in addition to the other dogs' behavior around Remus was so professional - he KNOWS dogs. I had no reservations about leaving Remus here for the day. When I picked Remus up, the staff were full of great things to say about him, gave me a full and honest report, and couldn't stop talking about him. It made me feel like they really cared about my fur baby. This daycare is a little pricey for me, but I just want the best for Remus so we will be returning customers. Thank you! read more

Michelle is a star poodle groomer! It is so hard to find a groomer that truly knows how to groom a dog properly, especially poodles. Michelle did such a wonderful job and my dog was super happy when she came back. I have been to 7 different groomers in Brooklyn since I got my poodle and this was hands down the best. The first time I took my dog to this service she came back with nails overclipped to the point where the pink part was showing. I had only requested a basic bath package, which doesn't include nail clipping, but the groomer made a unilateral decision that both caused my dog pain and ended up costing me more. Fast forward a year later, my dog's regular groomer (not Canine Corner) was away and to keep up with her grooming schedule, i had to take her back to Canine Corner. I emailed detailed instructions, asking only for hair clipping in certain areas. My dog came back with hair clipped all over her body, which is counter to any guidance for her breed, or the specific instructions i had given. The groomer is ill informed, and unfortunately because of her actions now my dog is in distress because her natural air regulation system has been compromised. I will not be taking my dog there again, because I am concerned about her well being. read more

Stopped in on Sat afternoon and saw the guy in the room with dogs treating the dogs aggressively: pushing their heads down to the ground, poking them in their chest, and yes even kicked a dog in its side. It took me a while to post this review but I felt that I had to for the sake for the dogs and dog owners in the neighborhood. I took my dog here for the first time for a full service groom which includes ear cleaning, nail cutting etc. I dropped him off in the morning and picked him up in the afternoon. Everything seemed fine until I realized that my dog didn't want to walk. I'm like that's strange he usually isn't that kind of dog to do that. I then look down and see that one of his nails on his paw was bleeding! I was so scared and worried for my dog! I've taken him to many different groomers many times and this has never happen before. I called up canine corner and I them advised of what was going on. The groomer that worked on my dog said that it was bleeding prior when she cut his nail but it had stopped?? I told her why didn't you inform me of this?? She had nothing to say so I asked for management to call me. The manager called me right away and offered to have a vet stop by my house to make sure my dog was okay. The point of my story is that they purposely hid the fact that they hurt my dog instead of coming clean and telling me to be careful with his nail bc it was bleeding prior. The manager then offered my dog a free groom next time I go visit them. I would never take my dog here again. Please beware. I never post bad reviews but in this case I had no choice. I asked for a refund but they refused. So they hurt my dog, didn't tell me about it then offered for me and my dog to come back to their grooming salon - sorry I'll never be back again! I took pictures of his bleeding nail too. Poor guy my boy didn't deserve that:( Now when I try bathing my dog he gets all nervous and scared:( Thanks a lot Canine Corner! read more

I brought my Yorkiepoo Dexter in for a grooming with Dominique (who also just so happens to be his dog walker). She did a great job! He was cut exactly how I asked and even had an adorable Halloween scarf on when I picked him up. I was running a bit late and they kept him in a doggy suite while he was waiting for me. I also checked out the dogs in the daycare section and boy, they look super calm and happy. The space is immaculate (and that is saying a lot compared to other daycares in the neighborhood). Also, the service from the staff is great. They are bubbly on the phone and eager to please. Dexter will be going back for sure! read more

My husband and I sent our dog to the Canine Corner for over a year. We did so because the people there seem to honestly enjoy being around the dogs, are sweet to them, and, as a super friendly pup, our dog loved going. However, after countless examples of poor behavior on their part we were finally forced to withdraw our dog from their care because it became clear he was unsafe with them. The list is endless, but at the Canine Corner we experienced errors of every size from the more minor such as when they lost his leash or brought him home at frighteningly late hours without warning to the egregious such as when they "forgot" to feed him his lunch making him go over 13 hours without eating, which with his medical condition he cannot do, and, most importantly, on multiple occasions, forgot to give him his medicine while he was being boarded with them, which he truly cannot go without. It got to a point where having him there became incredibly stressful because we could not trust them to fulfill any of their responsibilities outside of playing with him. I believe that the staff is inexperienced and mismanaged, and even though well meaning, not prepared to be trusted with the pets we all love so much. One good thing I have to say is that if your dog requires any training James is undeniably fantastic. read more

I've been here several times and have been happy with the service. Everyone is nice and they seem to do a good job with my pup. I made an appt for a bath a few weeks ago. My dog got a little messy at the dog park a few days before so I ended up having to give her a bath myself but she still needed a nail clip and teeth cleaning. I emailed and confirmed she only needed a teeth cleaning and clip. All good. I get there and drop her off. I say I'll wait since it should be quick. I also added one of the pig ears they sell to my order. 45 mins later I ask how much longer it should be. 5 minutes they say. 10 minutes later they bring out my dog...they'd given her a bath. When I told them I had only requested a clip and teeth cleaning they apologized ... But then proceeded to charge me for everything. Including the bath which I had not asked for. Not a huge deal by they should have comped the bath or at least offered the teeth cleaning or pigs ear on the house due to their mistake. They had other clients there so I didn't want to make a scene. I simply paid and left. Not cool. Update! The owners reached out and gave us a complimentary bath and groom. Very generous. Like I said in my previous review, they do a nice job. I may start using their daycare/boarding services as well. read more

We can't say enough about the Canine Corner - they're amazing. We use The Peaceful Pack (dog walking service) so when the same duo opened The Canine Corner, we knew we wanted in. The staff is really knowledgable and helpful, and they are all really happy to be there with the dogs. With a room full of dogs it seems like it could get stressful but the staff are all incredible friendly, kind, and full of positive energy. Our dog is a very high-energy, rough-and-tumble girl who thrives in their care. She is there 1-2 days a week and we board her on weekends when we need to travel. We've had moments when we've needed them to step in and pick her up last minute, or help us out with emergency boarding when plans have fallen through and they've always been super responsive and accommodating. We trust them fully, and wouldn't take our dog anywhere else. We highly recommend them! read more

I am always pleasantly surprised by the level of care and extra attention my dog ( Zoey ) receives from the staff at Canine Corner! We bring her once a week to burn off some of the puppy crazies, and of course to socialize her with other dogs. We have tried 3 doggy daycares and canine corner blows them all out of the water. Everyone here is a true dog whisperer. We have a large rescue dog who has had some behavioral issues and they have always done such an amazing job handling him. We are convinced he loves Canine Corner more than home. On top of everything, the place is immaculate and I love that the space is nice and large so the dogs can really run around. It's amazing watching all the dogs play- even when there are 40 dogs in there, they are always all calm and happy. I am jealous my dog gets to hang out there all day. read more

So my dog has some serious dog aggression issues and he's done OK at another highly rated boarding facility... but I was amazed at how well behaved he was under Canine Corner's care. James Aquino is like a Jedi for dogs. I literally walked in with my dog expecting him to go berserk is the beginning before settling down... but I was blown away to see him be extremely calm around the other dogs. We love The Canine Corner! We use them regularly for daycare and boarding (my husband and I travel often for work), and our 1 year old lab mix is always THRILLED to go to The Canine Corner. He's super sweet, but also young and energetic, and everyone is so kind to him while also reinforcing positive training. My dog trainer recommended the Canine Corner for my golden retriever puppy and I use it both for the occasional daycare and boarding and I would not feel comfortable sending him anywhere else. He absolutely LOVES going (pulls me inside), has a great time and comes home super tired after a day playing with all the dogs. The staff are all really nice and even sent me pictures and updates of my dog while he was boarding and I was on vacation (and put up with my neurotic email check ins). If you live around the area, they also offer pick up or drop off service for a small charge which can be super helpful, particularly on early mornings when you're in a rush. My pooch has done regular weekly daycare, and also stay for short/long term boarding. The staff made up of a great team from receptionists, floor staff to managers. They know you and your dog well and create a community feel to dog lovers in the area. Communications are always prompt and professionally friendly, no matter in person, on the phone or email. The space is a good size and enough outdoor indirect light. The pooches get to have walk break in between. The boarding has individual suites (not cage), big enough for pooches to bring their own beds and toys for staying. To ease owners' minds while away, it's good know there's a night time staff who stay all nights to make sure pooches are well, to check on them. The online booking system makes scheduling, payment and tracking easy, and it's super easy to use. You and your pooches are in good hands. read more

My long-coated rescue dog Holden is NOT an easy customer and Dominique consistently does an AMAZING job with him. I've brought him in with matted, uneven, filthy hair and he always come back looking and smelling great. I know he's even nipped at Dominique sometimes, and she's always so patient and understanding.
