Was there, reluctantly, yesterday. If it weren't for the tip top Pharmacy, I'd be long gone! Yesterday employees were wearing heavy outwear and winter coats to keep warm. THE HEAT HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR (2)WEEKS! According to OSHA, it's an Employee Union issue I offered random employees to but hot coffee/cocoa. They've turned down a family member HAVING PROPER ID, being over 22 y.o, denying beer to be purchased saying "not adult enough looking" Apologized later mailing my niece a gift card. Dairy--- EXPIRED on the day of purchase or has been. Produce- blackened fruits and shown when sliced in preparation to serve/eat. Seen them take sleeves off of candy boxes from holidays past and use it for the next holiday. Acme needs to shut their doors permanently. Good thing there's no steam table service. The store would be better off if Winnie the Pooh ran it I go in to return bottles and yes, I'm well aware that the machines rarely work properly but this time it was only the plastic machines that were down so I'm standing in the store waiting because the employee that handles, the machines doesn't clock in until nine so he comes down the steps and I asked him if he could check the bottom machines. He tells me that he's not the one doing it today that somebody else's in the meantime.Kristy who is at the customer service counter tells me he didn't even clock in yet first of all how the hell would I know this and then the Manager Doobie asked what's going on and Christy says I'll explain it to you later. LOVE this store and location!!!!! I have been to an Acme before and it was nice but this location I was brought to in search of a specific item I was not able to find at other store locations. The prices are very good and the day I visited they had a promotion when signing up for their rewards you receive a case of water. So of course I did :). The rewards program is free and very good sales! They also have a place in the store where there are items that have been discounted and marked down for one reason or another so we were able to benefit from that. i just wanted to share my positive experience shopping with home delivery at the Acme store in Mohegan Lake. I've noticed a real improvement over the past couple of weeks. There is a new manager his name is Thomas and he is outstanding at customer service. He is a great asset to the Acme team. He really has straightened out and streamlined the home delivery process of shopping at Acme. It is such a pleasure to deal with Thomas, he is on top of everything and if there is a mistake with an item, he is quick to have it resolved. I have wonderful things to say about shopping from home with Acme in Mohegan Lake and I believe it's all because of the new manager, Thomas he makes it such a pleasure shopping there . if you have never tried the service of having your groceries delivered I recommend that you try it. It is such a convenience, especially for those who can't get out to the store and make such a big difference and I truly appreciate everything all the workers do great staff at the Acme Mohegan Lake thank you guys. read more

My daughter went to ACME, She got rotten oranges, and old fried chicken that had an expired date and it was on the very bottom of the bag where you could barely see the date. Even the grapefruits were rotten, and some of the mangoes. The green leafy mix of spinach and other leafy green vegetables smelled moldy. I don't who runs these stores but they should be in business selling bad foods that are already rotten or out dated or moldy. Even some of there meats and fish are not of good quality or just old, and over priced. I told her to stick with Trader Joes or Shop Rite. read more

This supermarket is staffed by nice people but the products don't seem to have a fast enough turn-over and everything in the produce section was very questionable. I was looking for a small bag of carrots and noticed that all the carrots had that slime that forms when they've been sitting in a bag too long and unfortunately, the rest of the produce looked the same. Some of the things on the shelves looked old and dusty. I ended up buying only bananas and a bottled protein drink (after checking the expiration date) because I didn't trust anything else in the store. I did see someone stocking produce while I was there so I don't know why the produce is in such sad shape, but they definitely need a makeover in this supermarket if they are going to survive! I hate to see anyone go down hill, so I hope they find a way to turn things around before it's too late. read more

I was a long time shopper at the A&P which was previously at this location and I was looking forward to the ACME coming in as an alternative to Shoprite and Stop and Shop. The location is also convenient to me, something that I often take more into consideration than value. The first few months seemed promising, but then this store quickly went downhill, especially in the produce. There is a definite lack of fresh produce delivered on a regular basis and the produce that is there appears to be old and close to being inedible. You have to look very closely at anything you are selecting. It is also very difficult to find any fresh bread. There are also times where the rest of the supermarket seems a bit barren. I was just in and saw that they were moving everything around, on a Friday afternoon, and no one could find anything. I will check back and see if this reorganization helps in any way. All in all, I will shop here to buy some basics (always checking the sell by date) but for fresh produce, bread and meat, I will be going to DeCiccos instead. read more

ACME is the nearest market to my home. I find myself at ACME at least once a week picking up the necessities that have run out. Their prices can be a glance higher than the megastore 20 minutes away but I understand this is because their location is better/costlier to them and I need to applaud them for taking on that risk to provide me a more convenient option. read more

Ok, I really don't know who is running this store but it's pathetic. Was there today, to use the bottle return machines only to find out only the can return machine was working and one plastic machine needed servicing since it was full. Three people went to the customer service counter to ask if they could get someone to empty the plastic return machine. Of course no one came to help. Come to find out that the guy who usually does this job was out to lunch. They couldn't get someone else to do this since they had 5 people waiting to use the machine. Selection is mediocre. I've had mold in organic raspberries. Prices are higher than nearby ShopRite but that makes the store less congested. Also, great is no need to carry a card to get discounts. Most of the customer service staff in the afternoon and evening folks (young crew) are great if you have any issues like price adjustments; very accommodating. The morning crew, however, mostly older women, esp. Kristy, with the bad messed-up hair, and Gina are often unfriendly and don't want to be bothered with anything. They forget that they are there to help people. If they don't like dealing with people, they shouldn't be in customer service esp. with an unfriendly attitude. I find this to be the case with other supermarket customer service middle-aged women; often unfriendly and unhelpful. I don't want to criticize too much as I don't know what's going on in their personal lives. read more

Extremely disappointed in the Cortlandt Town Center ACME Market's security. My wallet was stolen while shopping last week and when I reported it the service desk called security and informed them that they "had another wallet stolen"!! Apparently, this has been going on for awhile and they have not advised customers to watch their possessions. The NYS police told me that there has been over 4 incidents there as well as at Wallmart which is in the same shopping center. Why are there no posted warnings to customers to keep their possessions in view at all times? I have no plans on ever shopping at ACME Markets again. read more

Review 8/12/18 This is by far the most disgusting supermarket chain I've ever seen! This store takes the chain to a whole new level of terrible. Everything in the store is expired. The first item I picked up was chips. They were expired by July 31! I looked through all the packages, every single one was expired, not one was fresh. Both Utz and Herr's chips were expired! The Lays chips in the front were a month old! The Rice Krispies treats are all expired by a week. Keebler Sandies cookie were a month old. The Power Bar protein bars were three years old! Three years! The Entenmann's products had all expired yesterday or were expiring later this week. All the yogurts were expired, 1 by over a year! Meat department was a mess. The meats they had looked brown and the rest of the shelves were empty. The bakery was horrible! The pies were hard as a rock and had mold all over them. The muffins also had mold on them! The cherry turnovers looked messy and were not fresh. The cookies had dirt on the boxes! The produce area was filthy! The berries had mold on them. The freezers were leaking all over the aisles and weren't cold enough to keep the items fresh. The aisles where the freezers were were all wet and dirty. There were multiple filthy buckets filled with brown disgusting mop water in the aisles in front of the freezers. This entire freezer area was disgusting, especially the revolting buckets of filthy mop water! Why would anyone buy frozen foods after witnessing this? The floors were beyond filthy throughout the store. The entrances and exits were littered with trash and dirt. A horrible smell was coming from the bottle return area. This store is all gross and disgusting. We left the cart near the checkout and walked out without buying anything, that's how bad it was. I would NEVER buy any food from this dump. You just simply can't trust this store. Everything I wanted to get was either expired or expiring this week. Some were over several years old! I shouldn't have to search through a store to find something that isn't expired! The absolutely disgusting mop buckets and filthy floors really shows how dirty the store is. The freezers fail and don't keep anything fresh. Meats, produce, and seafood all looked horrible. Bakery had moldy and hard items. This store should be shut down! I'm calling the health department as soon as I finish this review. I don't know how they're still here with a good ShopRite and great Stop & Shop both down the street. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY! Go to ShopRite or Stop & Shop and witness the difference! It's like night and day. The health department seriously needs to investigate this chain. I've now been to 2 ACMEs, here and Pleasant Valley. Both have been nauseatingly filthy and dirty, have expired food for over several years, and horrible employees. I truly believed the Pleasant Valley store was the worst supermarket I've ever entered, and now this store is right with that one at the bottom. It was that bad! After witnessing both of these stores I will never step foot in any ACME ever again, and will be telling people to avoid this chain. It seems like ACME as a whole is horrible. Gave this store a one-star review before, but this just takes the cake. I purchase food here occasionally, because most of it is rotten way before the sell-by date, especially when it comes to the produce. Today, I made sausage out of the ground chicken that has a sell-by date of tomorrow. I purchased three packages of chicken. After making the sausage, I ate two sausages, and I keep having this aftertaste in my mouth of rot. Sure enough, I open the third package of chicken in the fridge, and it is rotten. Twice I have purchased Pork Chops at ACME that have gone bad days before the sell date. I do not like Stop and Shop so I gave ACME a second chance and now at 7 pm at night I open a package of pork chops that smell bad - they are marked good until January 6th - three days from today - I will stop buying their meat products. I am so disappointed - A & P was mediocre but ACME is just disgusting. The fruit is always over ripe and almost bad. The avocados are black and rotten - the apples soft - the help is rude - the store should just close down. read more

Made the mistake of shopping here a few times. Meats/seafood must be dated incorrectly because I have thrown away a lot of chicken, shrimp and pork that smells bad. Recently found out that this problem ranges across many of ACMEs stores. I say stay away. read more
