Based on those recommendations, I decided to contact the company for a quote. I received a call the same day from Craig, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I found his tone to be rude, brash, and unwelcoming, especially toward a first-time customer who has no knowledge of the window replacement process and was simply looking for guidance. This is exactly where good customer service should make a difference. After speaking with him and comparing other companies and quotes, I quickly decided to end the call and take my business elsewhere. Because of this interaction, I will be spending my $5,000+ with a company that values professionalism and treats potential customers with courtesy and respect.

Beware. If you are getting quotes during escrow, do not use this company…read more On June 11, California Windows sent a written proposal for 15 Milgard windows at my home: $9,157.41, prepared on their professional quoting system, with an itemized breakdown and their promo applied. We were buying the house at the time, and we negotiated our escrow credit with the seller based on that written figure. Escrow closed with that number baked in. On June 29, I emailed their sales rep to proceed, told her explicitly we had made it through escrow and wanted to move forward with the project. She replied the next day laying out next steps and offering an appointment. Over the following week we confirmed final measurements for Friday, July 10. At no point in any of those exchanges did anyone flag a problem with the price. Then on July 9, the day before the measurement appointment and weeks after the proposal was issued, they raised the price to $13,007.41. A 42% increase, after we had already closed escrow relying on their number and had no way to go back to the seller. Their explanation was a quantity "typo" in the labor line that nobody at the company caught in almost a month, through multiple emails, a scheduled appointment, and my telling them directly that escrow had closed based on their proposal. Whether the mistake was on purpose or not, it cost us. Nearly $4,000 that our escrow credit no longer covers. And their fix was a one-line email attaching a new price, framed like they were just closing a sale, as if nothing had happened, with no acknowledgment that their error had just cost us thousands of dollars and no offer to absorb any part of it beyond trying to get us to sign the new updated contract. Everyone makes mistakes. What defines a company is what it does after. In our case, the answer was: nothing. Beware.

It was clear it was time for a replacement. Before choosing James, I got a quote from a very popular windows and doors company in Orange County. James, the owner of Lucero's Windows and Doors, not only offered the best price but was also extremely responsive. He mentioned that he previously worked as a Home Depot installer, which gave me confidence that he was properly trained. I was initially cautious because of the low number of reviews, but the consistent perfect scores from other customers made me optimistic. Now, after working with him, I can confidently say that Lucero's Windows and Doors is the real deal. Because our home required a custom-sized door, James came out twice to take measurements. After about two weeks, the custom entry door arrived, and he completed the installation in a single day. He told me our home was one of the oldest he's worked on, and the walls were very different from newer builds. Despite the challenges, he made everything fit perfectly, and the final result looks fantastic. We no longer feel a draft under the door, and it swings smoothly without any issues.

I made an appointment, and they completely stood me up. Later, they claimed they tried to call me or left a voicemail to change the appointment, which is not true. They never called or left any message. I have documentation as evidence, but I chose not to continue the conversation because Max kept defending himself and arguing instead of trying to resolve the issue. They also had my mailing address incorrect. I spoke with Max the day before my appointment to correct it, yet there were still multiple errors. Overall, the business seems very unorganized. The receptionist told me Max was in the office, so I was surprised when Max later claimed my appointment was with a different representative. This inconsistency felt very unprofessional and questionable. I took time out of my day for this appointment, and it is extremely rude and unprofessional that they never showed up. I do not recommend doing business with this company. There are many other businesses that provide much better customer service.

Exceptional Front Door Replacement - Danny Alonzo is the Best!…read moreWe recently had our front door replaced and are absolutely thrilled with the results! Our installer, Danny Alonzo, was fantastic from start to finish. He has excellent communication skills and gave us a clear, realistic expectation of the time to completion. He was incredibly friendly, polite, and professional the entire time -- I honestly wish every contractor or vendor we use could be as good as Danny! We picked a custom color and the door came out exactly the shade we chose. It's solid, heavy, and makes a huge difference compared to our old door. We had bought and pre-painted our own interior moulding, and Danny installed it perfectly with no issues at all. I'm terrible at making clean silicone joints around moulding, but he did an amazing, professional job on them. He even went above and beyond when he noticed some stucco damage around the front door. He pointed it out to us and patched it beautifully -- way better than I could have done myself, lol! The finished door looks absolutely beautiful. My wife and I weren't 100% sure what to expect, but the quality and the final result made the entire expense completely worth it. The door feels rock-solid and looks incredible. We couldn't be happier! Highly recommend Danny Alonzo and this whole service. Thank you!

These windows are still perfect in every way. These woods come with value and reliability. When we added on to our home about 10 years ago, the contractor used their window company. We ordered some custom sized windows to keep consistency with the rest of our home...and those have never been right. A couple years ago the large, back window split in the frame. We had no question that Hometime would replace the window...and it's both well constructed & beautiful, with two perfectly working locks. The install was done by Eduardo and his crew. It was an early morning appointment, but Eduardo showed up in time. Both he and the other installer were friendly, efficient, and clean. They took less than 2 hours, door knock to exit, and left not a scrap or bit of dust in their perfect install. When we consider cost, style, AND locally, independently owned companies, we will have Hometime do all our windows, always. In the future we will also request Eduardo as our installer. Thanks!
