Went in to check out a pruner. They didn't have it so i had to order the $125 pruner (30% higher than other stores), and pay $12 shipping. I realized this was $30 over the normal price so i call back to cancel my order 30 min after ordering it. Guy on phone asks for my phone number to lookup receipt, he "cant find it" asks for the sales clerks name off recipient, "finds" my Order, puts me on hold for a 2nd time only to come back and say he needs his manager to cancel the order (ok what good are you? You have no authority to cancel an order??). Manager is "busy" and has to call me back. Calls me back 15 min later to tell me the order is "processing" and therefore cant cancel the order. What a greedy, petty company. Charging $12 shipping something that is free shipping by other vendors. Then playing games and lying to keep my $12! I will return this item immediately after getting it and still save $30. This is my first and last time ever shopping at this place. A $12 dollar lesson i suppose. I called today to see about picking up a drum sander, and the salesperson gave me the big blow-off. "Check our website," she said. Prices are the same as the ToolsToday and other online retailers. I placed an order on Saturday, and my credit card changed the delivery address. I immediately tried to call to correct the error. However, no customer service is available on the weekend, so take the money and run. I sent an email and tried every option to cancel the order or change the address. Monday morning, I received a message that the item was already on the truck and there was nothing they could do. I called and was told the same thing. No one is at the address until November, so the item will likely disappear. If it is still there in November, I am sure ACME will not let me return it. This is a costly and painful error, with no help from ACME. I will not buy from them again; instead, I will go to FleetFarm, Menards, or any other retailer. read more

I recently had a very positive experience at Acme Tools and if you are in need of a power tool and some expert advice, this is the place. My wife wanted a small shop vac for house hold clean up (a super dust buster) and after a little research we settled on a DeWalt 1/2 gallon capacity shop vac. But before purchasing one (they are pricey) we wanted her to actually hold one to see if the size and weight were manageable. We first tried Home Depot which was a horrible experience and which did not result in a purchase. If you are interested, read my review. We came home and after brief internet search I found Acme Tools. I gave them a call and they verified that they not only had these shop vacs in stock but also had one on display. We immediately headed out and when we got there we were waited on by a very knowledgeable sales associate. After seeing the shop vac on display we knew that this was it. The associate went to work and found us a special deal on a charger and batteries which saved us a substantial amount of money. They have a wide selection of other power tools and the sales staff are very knowledgeable about the products that they sell. I highly recommend Acme Tools. read more

Saved over $400 on a wood lathe, after reading so many negative reviews with a few positives, I bit my tongue and stayed patient. Never bothered to call them as I knew major problem is waiting for product, received my brand new product 100% legit within 2.5 weeks... A long wait, yes but I did save $400 and was willing to wait a month with tongue bit in hopes I got the product. I Did, $400 is alot of money to me, bought a planer with the extra funds. I was in no hurry to receive these items as getting a free planer to set up shop was huge for me. Shipping sucks, but everything at this time is soo late to begin with. This place has what I need. Price is on the higher end for most things. I will not shop online to save a few dollars. I would rather shop here. Acme tools is only open during the day, pretty much 9-5. Being a busy contractor, it is hard to make it here during those hours, since those are the hours I make money. Took a stihl leaf blower that was working reasonably well in for service in January. Fired it up after I picked it up and it was working even worse than before I dropped it off the first time. Took it back a few weeks ago and had it serviced, again.... Got back to the job site and it wouldn't even get up to quarter power. To say that it worked even worse would be an understatement. Service department said they would take it in and service again. What's the point? If you guys can't fix something the first two times, why bother with a third? I couldn't let them take the thing a third time, I was afraid that it wouldn't even start after they had it for the hat trick. Spoke to the manager, all I got was "I'll have someone call you". I've shopped here on numerous occasions. Today I stopped in to see about matching an online price for a direct competitor. My salesperson was Mark. Mark was condescending and arrogant and not in the least helpful. With so many options available I will not be shopping with Acme online or in person again. Terrible. I bought from ACME via their website because they had a saw that was 50 bucks cheaper than everywhere else. I place the order, and get an email saying the Billing Address I provided didn't match my card. I use this card every day. I emailed back, and they told me to call. I called. A guy answered, was extremely rude, unprofessional, insisted that my address was wrong. He tries to process again after I convince him to try, and he says it didn't work. So I ask if I can give him another card (yes, I ask - he made no suggestions and seemed to just want to go get a beer and have me hang up asap). So I provide him another credit card, and once again, he says this one doesn't match with the address provided. At this point, it's obvious it's on ACME's end. Two different cards, two different banks, I use both every day, and they're saying I'm providing the wrong billing address? After much frustration and being made to feel an inch tall and disrespected, I ask if I can cancel my order. He happily obliges. 30 seconds after I hang up, my original credit card sends me a notification saying a $500 purchase came through. Guess the address matched up after all. I call ACME back again, tell another guy that answers the whole story, and he responds "sorry I can't help you the order's been cancelled." I tell him the payment went through though and he just says "it'll probably come off in a few days". I hang up, contact my credit card company, they stop the transaction and I buy the item on Amazon for 50 bucks more. I'm not one to complain, and I had hopes that this company would be good to buy from as their prices are reasonable, but this was by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Both reps I spoke with were annoyed at me immediately, had terrible tones, would not even attempt to solve my problem, and made me feel stupid for even calling, while also causing issues with my personal finances due to their ignorance. So no, I do not recommend ACME. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. read more
