While I compiled this review, I became emotional looking back at how bad my skin used to be and how it used to pay a toll on my confidence. Words can barely describe how thankful I am for Lisa. Unscrupulous business practices. I saw Lisa a couple of times pre-COVID, and wanted to buy some products during the quarantine. She placed two orders without telling me how much they were for. One order she sent to the wrong address. The other one was significantly more expensive than an authorized online retailer. When I asked her to cancel the more expensive order, she became irate (see attached, one of eighteen texts she sent over the week). We could have avoided a lot of the problem if she'd been upfront with pricing. Lisa demanded payment before the items were received. After I paid, she demanded more money. Finally I offered Lisa an olive branch: I would take the products at the prices I paid for, and would be willing to see her after quarantine. She refused on both counts. I think it's pretty nutty to get angry at a client for buying the same product online for 26% less. But Lisa is pretty nutty. read more

I have been going to The Acne Queen for about 20 years for waxing, facials, and peels to lighten/brighten my over all complexion. My teenage nephew started to develop acne last year which really affected his self esteem. So for his birthday in January I took him for a much needed treatment. We learned so much from Lisa about acne; what the different types of pimples there are what causes it, what products and ingredients would work best w his skin type and the type of pimples he has. She also was able to tell us how many treatments he would need to get the desired results. Because Lisa had worked in a doctors office for many years prior she had a lot of knowledge/experience w different skin tones from lighter skin types to skin w darker pigments and how to lighten pigment marks caused by old healed acne. Lisa had many types of acne products to choose from and explained why she specifically chose the products my nephew would be using to address his specific needs. I was surprised how affordable her acne treatments and products are. She also LOVES doing extractions!!!! She gave us helpful tips along w step by step instructions on how to care for his skin and how she wanted him to use each product down to the temperature of water when washing his face. She then followed up w a very helpful detailed email of everything she explained at the appt to print out for him to follow. Lisa let my nephew know that she is ALWAYS happy to be available by phone text or email to answer any questions or concerns. She made sure to let him know never to be embarrassed or feel like he's being a pest that he could reach out to her anytime. The few times he had a question she got back to him immediately and was super helpful. My nephew was able to get in for 3 treatments before the shelter in place in March which is one treatment short from the recommended amount of peels she thought he would need to achieve clear skin.
