I used to think the brand was overhyped for such simple designs at such a high price point, but after trying on their accessories and clothing, I have completely changed my mind, especially after my in-store shopping experience, which I find to be a crucial part of the shopping experience that unfortunately a lot of brands are now are shying away from, especially in San Francisco, if not completely pushing for digital shopping only. Best of all, no appointments needed AND the store is completely pup-friendly! I've been really into casual clothing, not just athleisure but actual streetwear recently. Brittany and Audrey are both excellent sales advisors at Acne in Downtown SF, they're both super friendly and quite knowledgeable of the brand's offerings even beyond what is available at the store! Brittany helped me with my most recent and largest Acne haul, she was very patient and accommodating to my friend and I as we spent a couple of hours trying on literally half the store (no joke!). She was very thoughtful and recommended great items based on what we were asking about and trying on. When we were wrapping up and checking out, Brittany threw in an extra dust bag for not just my blazer but also other articles of clothing that normally do not come with the clothing protective cover! 10/10 would recommend coming into Acne, it's safe, spacious, and clean (they lock their doors and let customers in one by one, group by group, manually). It's one of the only gem boutique left around Union Square! read more

Acne Studios on Geary is a great addition to San Francisco. All the associates are super friendly and have great recommendations. The store design is very cool and they have lots of different items available. My only comment is that it would be nice if they stocked some of the larger sizes (XL), as it seems like they only carry Small-Large. They can order anything for you to be shipped to your house but it would be nice to walk out of the store with it. Unrelated: My cat loves their bags. read more

I used to love AcneStudio store when there were such great sale associate as Gabby who was very professional and friendly on every level. But unfortunately he had relocated to NY. I came in today around 5:13 pm and I know that they close the store at 6:00 . The sale person came to open the door for me( you have your buzz the door to be opened from inside) , he didn't looks happy and friendly at all but it's ok and I said thank you. I was looking at a mohair cardigan in warm beige and I asked if they have a Vneck sweater in same color, material cuz I saw it online and the website they have it at this location and I wanted to see it so I could buy it. He then replied in a snooty manner that these are all they have as SS 2024.... That's it Comon guys...you work in retail there's no need to be snooty or maybe he was tired ( I gave him a benefit of doubt) I left store after just 10 minutes in the store. Acne as a brand has been great the past few years so it's awesome to have an Acne store in SF - I was previously relegated to ordering & returning a lot of stuff from the Acne website. That said, service is poor. You're not allowed to select items to try on yourself and the employees aren't quick to offer help. It takes at least 5 minutes for them to check stock, and they rarely have additional sizes in stock for core pieces. They need to either offer better service or let shoppers help themselves (which I would prefer). I was admonished for brining items into a dressing room when no one offered to help me, and I'm a frequent shopper who spends quite a bit at Acne. You're better off shopping for Acne at Maas and Stacks, Barney's, or their online store. read more

First of all the architecture of the store is absolutely amazing. I think that it used to be an old industrial building. Definitely worth checking out even if it's just for that. But the clothing is amazing as usual. The women's selection this season has a really amazing color story. Lots of rusts, nudes, and mint greens. They also have leather jackets that are Sherling lined. The men's section has some really good basic T-shirts. And also some interesting trousers. Overall a must try. I also found the staff to be friendly and hospitable. read more

It's a beautiful store with beautiful product. But let's be real...no matter how gorgeous it might be, a company's integrity and employees completely make or break a brand. The items are pricey, but are 100% worth it if you can swing it as Acne stands behind their quality promise. And I can't tell you how many times I've shelled out big bucks on something assuming I was paying for quality or at least phenomenal customer service...and then finding out neither were there. Story time: I purchased a pair of leather boots (my first Acne product!) a few months ago. It was love at first sight and I couldn't shut the hell up about them. So much so it convinced a few of my friends to go in and walk out with some fabulous shoes of their own. So you can imagine my devastation when after a few months of wearing the boots, a defective element slowly started to reveal itself. I immediately had visions of Acne brushing me off and that I would be cursed to watch my favorite boots collect dust in my closet until the end of time. Instead, Kate and her team came to the rescue, going above and beyond to remedy the situation with utmost kindness - not once did I feel as if I was a burden or had to inconvenience myself to find a solution to my problem. As much as I loved the shoes, I wasn't 100% sold on the Acne brand until my experience with Kate and her team. Definitely will be returning! read more

Wow. I am so disappointed in myself that it took me so long to discover Acne Studios - and this particular boutique in San Francisco. My overall experience epitomized exactly what I desire from a visit to a boutique... this sounds so cheesy as I'm typing it, but it's true. Upon entering, I was met with calm lighting and a very clean, peaceful environment. As with all the neighboring stores, there will be a security host inside, so don't be surprised. I am greeted by a smiling face. I later find out his name is Nathan (Nate) L. He was awesome. From him, I learned that all Acne Studios boutique are unique and designed specifically for each location, containing local motifs or themes. In this store, the color and shapes of the ceiling structures resemble that of the Golden Gate Bridge - one of the Bay's icons. Although Nate did not comment on this (because I did not ask), I was curious about the layout and metallic textures throughout the store. In a way, I felt like I was in a BART station. If this were to be the case, I interpret this as BART being a "transportation" to a new destination... perhaps Sweden, where Acne's roots are. I had never purchased any articles or pieces from Acne Studios, so I am relatively new to the creative direction; however, I can say that all the pieces I saw in the store, and even how the associates were dressing was crazy good. I'm happy it was mentioned that there was a sale, because my visit was impromptu, and I did not budget for a $300+ sweater. Going above and beyond, Nate went to the back of house and found a sweater in my size called the Flames sweater featuring a depiction of a cherry and melting ice cube. It comes from a classic American diner collection. The fit is amazing, the graphic vinyl on the front is unique, and the comfort is outstanding. They have a shoe section which I am hoping to visit soon and go nuts! I am definitely a happy client and am already saving up for my next trip to splurge a little more. read more

In general, Acne Studios is great at programming politeness with their sales employees. I've been to a few other stores in which employees have always been extremely kind and helpful (including one in New York on Black Friday, which was SO hectic but somehow the woman who was helping me was able to give me one-on-one attention and was super sweet the whole time). I've stopped into the Acne Studios on Geary maybe half a dozen times since they've opened and nearly every time I've been treated with daggers. Most times I've received a "Hello" and then am silently followed around the store until I feel so uncomfortable I leave. Experiences like this genuinely tarnish my image of the brand--no one wants to feel like a leper for browsing. Like, sorry I forgot to wear my Prada slides so you guys will know to take me seriously! Beautiful clothes, architectural, stylish, clothes that I wear over and over. I have 2 coats from Acne and they're my favorites. Well-made, comfortable, standout without being too showy. They're staples but don't feel boring. Space is large and airy. One issue is that they don't carry everything that's available online but they can order for you. Great customer service. I'd buy more of my wardrobe here if I could afford it! read more
