Review on the Spot Peel System…read more I have been using Spot peel for over 2 months now. In the beginning I was hesitant as I wasn't sure what to expect. I have tried numerous peels and IPL which damaged my skin more due to the melasma I have - I have also used a number of different creams that stated I would see dramatic results - and for the money I paid for these creams I was expecting it see some great results. However, not to my surprise none of there claims were true - did they fade the spots caused by years of tanning and not protecting my skin, Of course it faded them - did they go away? Absolutely NOT! I was so upset. I finally decided to speak to Noah at the St. Clair Cosmetic Clinic as I have been a client of Dr. Kuzmar's and decided to have a consultation with him to see what he can advise me. To my surprise he was very young "looking" and very educated in treating melasma and sun damaged skin - shouldn't surprise me really as he has studied this for years. However he directed me towards this new system called the Spot peel. I have been so happy with the products as I am not even fully finished them and my skin is clear of brown spots - I have noticed some capillaries that I did not notice before due to the dark melasma that covered it - so I have opted to fix those too with him - but the main goal of ridding myself of these horrible brown spots have gone away. Totally worth the 2 days I had of peeling skin as it is new skin underneath and I am feeling much better about not wearing make up as I like to be natural and this is the way to go. I still have some creams to go but I realize that this would have saved me hundreds of dollars if I went to see him first- he takes care of you and fully explains how to use the product even gives you a print out just incase you forget - all and all it is simple as washing your face and putting cream in the morning and night as we already do anyway - well should be doing. The technician told me it takes off a layer of skin to make you look younger after the treatment. I was surprised to learn that she would not be doing any extractions. Last time I had a facial the technician showed me all of the stuff That came out of my face but they didn't do that here. I'm not sure I would redo the treatment at this location but I was nice to have some TLC. I also thought I'd get a facial massage but they didn't do that either. Would I Return? When I called to make my first appointment, the gentleman who answered the phone was extremely polite and courteous while speaking to me. He answered my questions and scheduled me in for my preferred time and day. So far, so good. On the day of my appointment, I left the house with no makeup on, since they would just be taking it off anyway. Over the past couple of years, I've developed some redness on my left cheek and forehead, which seems to get worse on certain days. I'm not quite sure what causes it, which is why I'm seeking out various skin care remedies to treat it. I used to have completely clear, beautiful skin so this has been extremely depressing for me and I feel incredibly self-conscious about it. When I walked into the clinic, the woman behind the desk (Silvia) looked up and I told her I was there for my appointment. She looked at me and said in kind of a loud voice, "What's wrong with your face?" I was mortified and instantly felt extremely embarrassed that I had left the house without makeup on. I glanced around and saw a few people (likely staff) turn to look at me while I stammered a reply, something to the effect of, "That's what my face looks like without makeup and that's why I'm here." I couldn't believe her lack of professionalism - I was actually shocked at how rude it was to blurt that out. Anyway, after completing the intake form, I was taken into a room for my treatment where a lovely young woman asked a series of questions and we spoke about the treatment. After completing the microdermabrasion, I went to the front counter to schedule my next appointment and pay the tax on my Groupon. Silvia apologized to me, saying that someone on her staff had pointed out that she had been rude to me. She seemed genuinely surprised that it was perceived that way, and went on to make a few excuses for the comment she had made. I thanked her for the apology, scheduled my next appointment and left. I don't know why, but her comment stung quite a bit. Probably because I felt vulnerable without makeup and wasn't expecting a "professional" to react that way, but also because her apology seemed pretty insincere. My next appointment was a couple of months later and upon going into the clinic, I had that uncomfortable feeling return. The service was fine and the technician was great (I don't remember her name, unfortunately) but in all, it was really not a relaxing experience. I hesitated between two and three stars, but ultimately I thought the actual service was fine so I stuck with three stars. I understand it's a clinic and not a spa, but they would do well to maybe oil the door hinges so they don't squeak so loudly - not to mention every time they open/close a door, it sounded like they were slamming them. It's just the layout of the rooms - the walls don't go up to the ceiling, so you can hear every noise, including all the loud voices in the hall. Also, several times people walked into my treatment room by mistake. It was just very disconcerting. I think there's an expectation of privacy and perhaps a somewhat quiet environment when getting these treatments done that is not present at this clinic. I could certainly overlook this if everything else was great, but it just felt like one more thing that added to the list of reasons not to return. I made a joke about getting some WD40 for the squeaking door hinges to Silvia, but she just stared at me and said she didn't understand what that was. I tried to explain but it didn't seem to matter. Oh well. I had come prepared this visit with my tinted moisturizer to apply before leaving, which I did in the washroom. When I was done, there was no "thanks for coming" or any conversation about any follow up treatments - in fact, when I saw Silvia in the hall and asked if there was anything else, she just said no, so I left feeling like they didn't even want my business. This, combined with my initial feeling on my first visit, I guess I shouldn't feel bad about not going back. Whenever I try a new place (Groupon or not) the question I ask myself is would I return (and pay full price)? In fact, I'm more likely to return in future when I feel like I got a great deal on my first visit. In this case, my response would be no to both. Even with a discount, I'm not interested in going back. I've tried a few other places in the past couple of months and I'm happy to say I've found a place that I feel really good about and have chosen to go there instead for my future skin care needs. Customer service is so important in this industry so I truly hope that Silvia can try to be more tactful towards her clients in the future.

They were quick to reply and assured me that it was. All communication afterward was very prompt and professional. The day of the treatment, I was asked to fill out standard forms. Then I was lead to the treatment room. The place is very clean and has the typical medical aesthetic clinic vibe. Dana was my esthetician and she was great. I came in with lots of hormonal acne and was very self conscious. However she made me feel comfortable and like any other client. We first did a skin analysis to see the current state of my skin. Dana then walked me through the different points about my skin. Then we did the treatment, which consisted of three steps. She walked me through each one, explaining the benefits of them. She also did extractions. She ended with a face massage, which was very nice and relaxing! I was expecting my face to be more red from all the extractions, but they actually seemed okay and were flatter than when I came. This is probably because of the last cooling step of the AquaPure facial. I've tried quite a few places for facial, and know pretty quickly if it will work with my skin. This one definitely does. They also guarantee results (have to read the details and disclaimers on the form). Overall, I had a really good experience and can't wait to try the other treatments like the chemical peel.

It feels like they treat you differently and judge you once they realize they can't get more money out of you. 2. Everytime I came in for a session they were trying to upsell me something. It made me extremely uncomfortable...and made me wonder if they were treating me differently because I wasn't willing to put more money in. I was worried if I kept saying no, it might negatively affect my results. I started dreading coming into my appointments. 3. 4. I've been here over a year, mostly because I got a package and I felt like I had to follow through with it. Initially I was really excited as laser hair removal was always my dream and my biggest insecurity and I went in trusting the "professionals". I should've done more of my own research because I realized in retrospect they were making me come in way more frequently than I personally needed, essentially wasting sessions. As a healthcare worker myself, I am a HUGE proponent of informed decision making which I believe this clinic is LACKING. Another example, no one warned about potential side effects such as your hair coming back THICKER and LONGER. Guess they want you to pay for more sessions ... they also only ended up using the highest setting for me after my 13th ish session. I don't understand why this setting was not used earlier as I kept coming in saying the hair was coming back, or suggested I stopped and went with other methods. 5. When I was sold a package, I was transparent about my potential inability to finish it because I was moving and I was told "we could work it out" at the end. We talked about a refund or use additional sessions in alternate parts of the body. When the time came, they said they could refund me. I waited weeks and FINALLY when they sent the refund invoice, there was a $250+tax cancellation policy that I was not aware of. With my refund and the $250 fee, i ultimately OWED the clinic money. If that's the case any person logically would go for my other option. I called to discuss my options and the one person that picked up told me, "I don't know what to tell you ... we have your signature". I have been trying all week to get in contact with the director but I kept getting the excuse that she's not in the office. Even if a policy is written on paper, customers should not be misled from the beginning prior to purchase. Any store you go to tells you in person before purchase if something is final sale, exchange only, etc ... regardless I wanted to have a discussion about options with them but despite my efforts have not heard back. 6. The packages seem like a good deal in the moment but are NOT worth the headache and the contingencies that come with it (even if it's MEDICALLY NECESSARY, they charge a fee to discontinue). beware of the fine print. 7. 8. It's just really sad to know that there are places that are taking advantage of peoples insecurities and in some cases, desperation for their own profit. I wouldnt have posted this if agreements were upheld and there was transparency and communication on their end. However this was not the case, leading to this review. I paid almost $1,600 for Dermamelan treatment on my back, chest, and stomach. I had no allergic reaction during the in‑clinic portion and confirmed my at‑home instructions carefully. A week later, my skin became painful, raw, and the top layer was visibly peeling. I sent photos to the clinic and was told this was "normal" and to continue my post care. It wasn't. My skin barrier was broken, and following their advice meant applying an acid product to open wounds. Within two days, I developed severe chemical burns across my back, chest, and neck. My skin is now scarred and significantly worse than before I ever contacted Bellair. It didn't end there. My in‑person assessment with Dr. Pugen was switched to virtual while I was already on my way, making it useless. As I cried through the appointment, he suggested laser treatment even though both my dermatologist and Bellair's own coordinator said it would be high‑risk for my skin type. Two follow‑up calls were scheduled; nobody called me either time and I had to call the clinic to make the appointments happen. The clinic also took very personal "before" photos of my bare chest and back, then later claimed they COULDN'T FIND THEM and they were never uploaded due to "wifi issues." They use iPads with internal storage, so this makes no sense. The violation of patient privacy is truly baffling. When I requested a refund from the director, Oscar Amar, he dragged it out for 19 days, insisted they "did nothing wrong," and eventually offered a partial refund of no specified amount. After everything, it was like a slap in the face. What happened to me here was NOT OKAY. Period. It was dangerous, negligent, and deeply unethical. Proceed with extreme caution.
