I needed a new hard drive installed in my late 2008 iMac. It was becoming very slow since the drive was slowly dying making the iMac almost inoperable. Called a few places around the valley and Sam at ACS was the most courteous and helpful over the phone so I decided to take it over there. I brought my macbook into ACS after exhausting my options at the Apple "genius" bar (mind you my laptop was still under an extended warranty). According to their diagnostic, they recommended purchasing more RAM as well as clearing up my hard drive (at the time it was roughly 180gb full out of the total 250gb available). I added the extra RAM and backed up my information to an external to delete it off my laptop and saw no change. I dropped it off at ACS early in the day for them to run a diagnosis and within a few hours I received a phone call from Sam with an update-- he said my hard drive was actually going bad. I found this hard to believe at first since my laptop was fairly new, so I went in and spoke with Jolie, the head technician who was able to elaborate more on the problem. She took the time to show me the diagnostic tests she ran and the results she was receiving. They suggested that I upgrade my hard drive, which was an HDD-- a standard model from apple-- to a solid state, SSD (this was all foreign to me too until they explained everything). I took the chance of following their recommendation and couldn't be more pleased! My macbook is running faster than it ever ran before and I placed all my backed up information back onto my laptop. They also made a suggestion that I advise everyone reading this to do as well--- download utility applications to monitor your laptop's efficiency. I was using Blackmagic Disk Speed Test (I think it's free in the app store) to check the Read & Write speed of my hard drive. read more

I have an older Mac Book Pro. Had lot's of problems but mainly a non-working DVD and a broken mouse/keyboard. This type of repair can be cost prohibitive forcing complete replacement of the unit. I shopped around and did not like the prices I was quoted until I happened at ACS. Customer service was nice and accommodating and actually cared about their customers (foreign concept-yes In know). They were quick to repair and VERY reasonable on price. They purchased used parts to keep the price down. Overall the bill was several hundred dollars cheaper then other places. Sure you may get a cheaper quote from some place else, but you won't be getting someone who knows apple products inside and out like Jolie. She has worked with apple for years and knows what she's doing. You take your laptop someplace else other than the APPLE STORE and I'm 100% sure that your mac book isn't going to be fixed completely. On the flip side, if you do decide to go to the apple store not only are you going to be paying twice as much but also you'll be stuck waiting in line trying to get some service. 3. Amicability. I had my iPhone 4s screen replaced. After I start using my phone again I noticed that my touched screen wasn't work well once I'm typing. I went back a month later with hope they'll take care of it since I'm coming to them to fix my phone always when there's something wrong with it, but unfortunately the owner give me a very bad attitude and ask me for the receipt when they never give receipt anyways. He refused to gave us any service and he call me a lier and ask me to leave the store. These guys are awesome! If you have an older computer go out on you make sure to consult with these guys first. I have an an old iMac since 2008 and I have always loved this computer. I have many others, but this has the larger screen and I am not in the position to put out a couple thousand for a new one at this time. Went down to three guys, new hard drive and also ended up upgraded RAM. Computer is running BETTER than new. I will be doing all my business with these guys. I've been recommending this place to anyone with computer issues and in need of a reliable and cost effective option. I took my MacBook Pro Retina in after I spilled a perfectly fine cup of coffee directly onto the keyboard! As soon as the coffee hit the keys I flipped it over (keys down) and shut it down. I opened it and dried off as much as I could before powering it back up. To my surprise it worked with some minor issues. But it wasn't long before the keys started acting up. So seeking out an option other than the Apple store (because I was out of warranty) I found this place. I took my laptop in and he kept it overnight. The next day the owner told me I needed a new upper section. I don't remember the exact price but it was somewhere around the $300. range. The repair took less than a week and I not only got a new keyboard but a new battery as well. That was over 2 years ago and the computer is still doing great! I went it for a simple job to update to a bigger hard drive, he said he can put 1 tb on my mac, and it will take 1 day, ended taking 3, I had to call several times to ask if it was done, they couldn't do it, they had to install a 500 gb, they still charged me the same. My Mac lab top had been giving me hard time I found a place to show my computer, after they kept it for two days the estimate seemed too high to me. I was referred by a friend to ACS computer repair office. Sam the owner called me the same day. He found the problem and charged me one third of the estimate of the other office. I ended up appreciating my experience with these folks, but it was a little bumpier than I would have hoped. Around one year ago, my MacBook Pro gave me some trouble--it was loading REALLY slowly. CleanMyMac and other apps barely helped; I needed to get a RAM upgrade. I found ACS Computer Shop--close-by, pretty decent parking, right next to a good pizza place. It took a few back-and-forth visits to diagnose the main issue with ACS--the initial visit didn't fix anything at all--but, eventually, the right upgrade was installed. One year later, it runs incredibly smoothly. I had one issue where something was installed without my go-ahead and I was made to pay for it--however, it was explained (and I verified) that this was a key component in ensuring that the computer was fixed and that if I found an expert or alternative provider that showed it was unnecessary or gave a cheaper option, I'd get my money back. So, it went from seemingly unfair/sales by ambush to a reasonable, time-saving decision. I don't regret it coming here. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE AND THIS MAN EVER! First the owner of the ACS Store, Sam, had completely LOST my "back up hard drive" that I had brought to him to look at and possibly repair. Since he did not call me to tell me the status of my hard drive for a long time I eventually went to his shop to pick it up. When I got to his shop he tried to give me a different hard drive than I had left for him to possibly repair. He had evidently lost my hard drive and was trying to give me a different hard drive instead of the one that I had given him and was pretending not to know. He had lost my back up hard drive and was trying to play stupid. He was totally unapologetic and unsympathetic to my loss. I was surprised at his couldn't care less attitude. Eventually he agreed, after some lengthy negotiations and conversations, albeit quite reluctantly and with bitterness and disdain in his voice, to clean one of my computers of viruses in exchange for his having lost my back up hard drive. After two months I finally got tired of waiting to hear from him and went to get my computer. It was still not repaired. He had some lame excuse about his internet service not working and that it affected the repair of my computer!. A week later I went back again and he gave me my computer at about closing time. Due to the lateness of the hour I could not check the computer to see if it functioned properly. He complained the whole time that I was there that he was doing me a favor by fixing my computer and he was very upset that he had supposedly repaired my computer in exchange for having lost my hard drive. He was very rude and impolite to me. Since he was in a hurry to go and did not want me to check if my computer functioned properly, I had a strange feeling come over me. I felt that he was trying to pull a fast one on me by not letting me check my computer before leaving. But he insisted on not letting me check my computer and I was forced to pay him and leave as I wanted my computer back. This whole ordeal had been going on for months. When I got home and I turned on my computer and discovered that he had not done one single thing to my computer and in fact it was in a worse condition than when I had taken it to him. The next day I took my computer to a Staples store and to Frys Electronics for a second opinion and technicians at both locations confirmed that the viruses that were there. The virus dates confirmed that they were on my computer when I had taken it to ACS. In short ACS, Sam, had scammed me out of my money because he was most likely upset that he had lost my hard drive and that I was expecting him to stand good for it. I called him immediately after receiving the confirmation from Staples and Frys and asked him if he intended on fixing my computer, after all his website states: "Satisfaction Guaranteed". He, Sam, however told me basically to F--- Off and that he was not going to do anything about it and that I should take him to court and sue him. He is a very unscrupulous man, dishonest, cunning and a cheat. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE AND THIS MAN EVER! read more

Guess what. The hinge that was supposedly replaced just broke again. Now that I could see inside the screen again, the hinge wasn't even replaced - nether were any of the wires - they look wrapped up and welded. Liars and thieves. read more

Sam & Jolie are great..after reading some positive Yelp reviews, I brought a desktop in and Jolie diagnosed it right in front of me--she suspected the power supply and literally pulled apart the desktop and checked everything out in a couple of minutes which confirmed her initial suspicion. Sam has also worked on a (very old) laptop that was as slow as molasses and fixed it up with a new hard drive and it works like new. What a relief to finally find a reliable repair shop. I had made the mistake of hiring a geeky house call computer guy to trouble shoot my ongoing problem with my Dell office desktop. I run a business and could not really afford the down time or lose what was on my hard drive, and to my chagrin the service call was expensive and disappointingly unproductive. I called Sam at ACS and did my best to explain my frustrations with my computer, and being time sensitive: my imploding impatience. Sam was instantly of service and upon bringing my computer in, I felt I was in good hands...actually, GREAT hands. These people know what they are doing and they had me up and running that day. Let me tell you that my favorite is Jolie and I have since reached out for more help and have sent my friends to this company and everyone is as pleased as I was, so I speak for them too. Well the guy Sam who runs the place talked me into getting a new hard drive which cost more and we end up losing out photo shop. And overall the computer is not that much better than before. OK. Here's the deal. I had (and now have) a PC, old, as old as I am, but I was very happy with it. My computer died on me and I took it to the nearest computer repair store, ACS Computer Shop. Low and behold, Sam, who had sold me this PC over decade ago turned out to be the owner. To cut the long story short, he revived (excuse my layman language) my computer, and talk about speed, I had forgotten how slow the old computer was. Thanks sam, ACS Computer Shop. Comes in my 19 years old grandson who's fully eqipped with his Andriod phone, Mac laptop and whatever else device you can image in today's world, He stands behind me (did I tell you my computer is a desktop?) and goes: WOW! Who's this guy and where is this place? he asks. Since then, he has become a regular SATISFIED customer of Sam's who has taken care of his Mac, phone, etc. and now all his friends are regular customers of Sam and CS Coputer Shop. I mean, what else do you expect from a computer repair shop that does such a great job. My friends told me: Sell the damned thing and buy a new one for half the repair costs. Were they wrong! For a fraction of what you get a so-called desk-top comuter WHICH IS MADE TO LIVE NO MRE THAN A FEW YEARS, ten years later, Sam has revived my computer for a fraction of what I would've paid for a brand new one. If you want to work with people who actually put a value on YOUR time and are truly experts at what they do - please check out these guys! I had wasted half of my work day looking for a Mac repair shop to have my MacBook Pro's hard-drive looked at. Repair shops up and down Ventura - there are quite a few, however they all quoted me with having do drop my computer off for the day for them just to run the diagnostics and then 3 - 4 business days for getting me up and running. WHAAAAT? The second I walked through the doors of ACS Computer Repair - boom, the technician (Jolie) had gotten a hold of my Mac and while listening to my story on what i thought was wrong with my laptop had begun looking at the system. Needless to say, when she said I was definitely going to get my computer back by the end of the day in working condition (after needed hard-drive replacement and memory upgrade) I was in awe and a bit of a disbelief. :-) And yes, had my laptop up and ready to go by the end of the day!!!!! Walked into ACS with my daughters laptop, my sons iphone and my ipad. I was on the verge of getting rid and not dealing with Apple no more due to so many problems and all at once. Immediately, i was schooled by their staff that the gliches were just minor. Their techs took all three devices and told me they would all be repaired in a matter of time. A week or so later, i received a call from them and i was told to pick up my devices. I brought my kids with me to their request as they were going to instruct my kids to follow certain dos and donts on apples. I showed up and they had a semi lab for them to follow their instructions on their iphones and laptops. The attention to customer service was and is remarkable. The prices very fair, i have since recommended all my friends and family members to ACS and will continue to do so. If yelp had ten stars they merit that much.
