The bed and all other equipment were delivered on a Wednesday after calling them Tuesday morning. Nurse Venus came over on Wednesday evening to familiarize me with the process - from medication to adjusting the bed, changing diapers, etc. She was very respectful and showed a lot of compassion, understanding and patience. I was a wreck and she walked me through what to expect and gave me all the contact numbers I may need. My loved one was only in hospice care for a day, but the care and compassion shown to me by nurse Venus and the staff at the office helped me through this most difficult time. When I called With A Little Help, within seconds, I was talking with Kacie, one of the owners, who was so kind and spent all of the time I needed talking with me about our situation and care needs. By the end of the phone call, we had a plan for an intake evaluation, and just a couple of days later, a new care team was in place...and just like that, the stress and worry that had been accumulating over many months lifted. This caregiver left her sitting in the wheelchair all night from 10 pm until her shift ended 7AM stating she told her she was fine and to leave her alone. You don't just do that with someone with dementia! My stepdad was sleeping in the other room and would have gotten up to help. My mom was found non responsive, shaking violently with pain and her bottom was a mess when Courtney left. We called 911. She was never again able to get out of bed, eat, take fluids, or have meaningful conversation and she died 4 days later. Imagine my shock when just a couple days earlier we were laughing and playing Yahtzee! This neglect pushed her over the edge and though she would have passed anyway, we were robbed of the peace of mind knowing that our loved on didn't suffer. Because of CCI and in particular this caregiver my mom did suffer horribly. Beware of the caliber/training of the caregivers. Some were fine. I just don't want to see this happen to someone else's beloved family member. The owner Merri has made light of this situation in response to previous requests for changes in hiring/training practices. Look up our civil lawsuit superior court state of WA and beware.
