She does not have the money for an actual repairman or to replace her existing dryer. My husband is not an actual handyman but just a handy guy and just trying to help our neighbor. This is my fourth time dealing with Action and I have yet to be disappointed! I phoned yesterday and had an appointment booked for this morning. The technician (Joe) was polite and very professional. He wasted no time in finding the problem and was able to fix it on the spot. What strikes me most about this outfit is their honesty. He could have told me anything and I'd have no way of knowing if I was being cheated. The problem I was experiencing was minor and a quick, relatively inexpensive fix. No nonsense with these guys. I have been dealing with action appliance on and off for the last couple of years. all I have to say is good things about them. I have ordered appliances from them and have had to had services done on other appliances. They have always arrived with in the time zone that they said they would. My appliances were always fixed and their rates that they charge are reasonable. When I have spoke with Kelly on the phone or spoke with her in the store she has always been very nice and also very helpful. Andrew the tech has always been fantastic as well. He has always been honest and truthful and has always been able to take care of any issues that had been going on with my appliance. I greatly appreciate very good customer service. In the past when I have dealt with other businesses that sell appliances, the customer service has sucked, the sale rep's lied about the warranty, or a truck would brake down and would not do a dam thing to try and get another truck in order to deliver my appliances. Even after going through the chain of command or proper channels, I would get nothing but a bunch lies or told that there was nothing that can be done. Also I am on propane and when i needed a propane kit installed on my stove, I would ask if they had tech's that installed the kit and they would say no and tell me i have to call the Gas Company or my propane company or someone else. no one could ever refer me to the proper place in order to get the propane kit installed. Action Appliance has tech's that can install the kits. So thank you Kelly and Adrew at Action Appliance you have always been great to speak with. After buying a washer and dryer, we asked for delivery. On delivery day, we had a gentleman named Robert install our washer and dryer. This store is a rip off. Their parts are overpriced. Beware, they also don't accept returns. I bought a couple of parts in the morning but ended up not using the other part and try to return it in the afternoon but they won't accept it. Never opened, but they said that it is their policy. They will not tell you about this no return policy until you're returning your parts. Suggest using Preferred Appliance Parts in Murrieta instead for any parts. read more

Well I had another horrible experience with Joe the service man for action appliance and repair on Ynez in Temecula. He stated that our refrigerator needed a new compressor and he was going to charge us $600 for the labor to install it on top of the $99 service call charge. He had the nerve to offer us $30 off on a new refrigerator from his store for our $2700 refrigerator that is just two years old. Just six months earlier we gave him $600 for a new control board. What a rip off!! If I could give them a minus star I would!! He did not know what he was talking about in the repair. When I called him on his incorrectness he changed his story! Wow! Unbelievable!! INCOMPETENT!!!! DO NOT USE!! IF I could give zero stars I would. Ripoff. The first guy that came knew less about the fridge than I did. My water would not dispense, he told me the water tank, which is inside the non frozen side of the fridge, was frozen. Yet nothing else in my fridge was frozen. HMM? I debated with him a bit as to why that was even a possibility. After he left I took a look at the fridge. It took me about 3 minutes to remove the tank and see it was not frozen. I then worked on the fridge some more and determined that the output valve was bad. I called them to come out again and actually determine the problem. He put the voltmeter on the valve and determined it was bad in no time at all. I said, "I told you so." Then he wanted $125 for labor to replace it and also wanted me to replace other valves that weren't broken. Having looked over the fridge extensively at this point I knew that was a ripoff and I declined their install. I went online to the parts dealer and they had a video and diagrams detailed every step. All I had to do was remove one screw and unplug the valve (almost exactly like unplugging a socket from the wall). It took me 7 minutes, including finding the right wrench. $125 for 7 mins work??? read more

Just had an AMAZING experience with Action Appliance. I had literally just moved into my new house and realized that the dryer hookup was gas instead of electric. My current dryer is old so I had no problem upgrading to a new gas...my dilemma was time. I talked to Best Buy, Home Depot, and Lowe's and no one could get me the Maytag gas dryer that I wanted (or one that I really didn't even want) for over a week. I googled local appliances and this place came up. I drove down there 30 minutes before close and was helped by Colby. This guys service is exceptional!!! He not only had the dryer I was looking for ($10 cheaper than the competition), he could deliver it the following day. Once hearing about my time constraints, Colby offered to deliver it himself first thing in the AM. He showed up early, helped me do the install and took away my old dryer. My family has a Maytag washer from the 1980's. When the agitator in the washer stopped working, we had them come and take a look at it. They determined pretty quickly that the transmission had blown. Knowing they would have to order in a new transmission (since the washer is so old), they told us it would be about 3 days to get in the part and fix the washer. The service call was $49.95 and they gave us a price quote of $350 more for the repair. Before committing, we looked online to get an idea of the cost of the replacement part and took a look at a number of new washers. In the end, we decided to go ahead and have them repair the washer. read more

I understand they need to make money but paying close to $200 for a 10 minute repair is a bit much. Breakdown was $50 for a $4.00 coil kit and then $74.00 for labor PLUS a $50.00 trip charge? I can see charging that trip charge if we didn't go with your service but the labor plus the trip charge is a bit much in my opinion. Terrible in home refrigerator diagnostic. I had been trying to fix my fridge for a few days and replaced 2 common wear items: the compressor start/overload relay and the defrost bi-metal switch. I decided to have a "professional" come out and take a look for $60. I told the tech what i had replaced and that i think it was a control issue. I also told him that when the compressor kicks on, the evaporator gets ice cold immediately. I was hoping he had a wiring diagram for my specific fridge or some kind of special diagnostic tool for the electronics- he did not. After a few checks that i had already done myself, he tells me my compressor is bad and pulling too many amps. I asked him, how much current is it pulling, he said i don't know i didn't check. I looked at the very nice meter he had with an amp clamp on it, and i just said OK, i didn't want to be rude. From my research, a compressor is bad if it pulls 2 amps or more. My compressor was pulling 1.2 amps, which is perfect reading. So I would have spent $500 for a new compressor and still had a fridge that doesn't work. I found the compressor relay to be faulty on the electronic control board. I replaced the board myself. Fridge now works perfect. Seriously, it takes 5 seconds to clamp the meter around the wires to the compressor to get a reading. I mean, if you don't know whats wrong, just say you don't know. My advice, if you are a mechanic and understand how AC systems work, just do some research and fix the fridge yourself. I called the store and let them know what had happened. They said the compressor could still be bad. How can you say something is bad when you don't even test it. Good thing these people don't work on humans, uhh you need a new heart sir, why what is wrong, i don't know i didn't test it, but yeah it's bad. On another note, this place does have good deals on appliances and mattresses. Our mattress buying experience was good at this place. Not impressed with their appliance repair so far. read more

I went in and ordered two small parts. The manager said they would be in the next day, Friday (a 3 day weekend) so I paid the full amount. When I arrived on Friday the manager was off til Tuesday and the girl admitted that the order had not been placed and my paperwork was tossed to the side. She offered me a 10% refund. We were without the stove until the part would be in on Tuesday. On Tuesday the manager was back and said the part was not in, had no idea why (other than it had been a 3 day weekend) and never apologized or admitted he had tossed my order to the side of the desk! I asked him to find out why my order was promised next day and not in on Friday. He didn't seem to care and just said they were busy. At least the hourly employee girl cared enough to apologize, the manager could care less! Very dissatisfied customer who found the parts in stock across town at Preferred Appliance Parts. One phone call and they were more professional than three contacts with Maytag! Also, the same parts were cheaper at Preferred! read more
