Be careful! After viewing reviews last winter especially the ones on Yelp I purchased a new set of custom rims and snow tires for a 2023 G wagon. The process went well, until when I recently returned and pulled mu vehicle out of storage. I wanted to change back to summer and the factory wheels. I discovered that Action Jackson over tighten my front lugs and damage all ten bolts. The rear bolts also received damage. I understand they are no longer in business. read more

******BUYER BEWARE****** Took my Porsche to them to fix the leveling system. Compressor was bad and they tried to pull a scam putting a used pump in and couldn't fix it. Took it to Porsche dealer in Denver and they pulled the pump out, put a new one in, and the issue was resolved. Gave me the old pump and showed me the serial number telling me it was an old pump, not new, yet AJ charged me almost $4K for a new pump. Demanded refund and Ross (owner) said no, so now I'm prepared for litigation. With all the bad faith this company continues to demonstrate, there should be a class action suit. read more

The wait at Big O Tires was 3 hours, so I stopped into Action Jackson to get a leaky tire repaired. They were very nice, showed me to a comfy waiting room and attended to my car pretty quickly. After about 45 minutes, the guy came over and told me my car was done, so I followed him into the office. He told me that they couldn't find a leak and that it was probably just the change in altitude (I'm from Chicago). According to that guy, my car was suffering from altitude sickness and needed some Boost Oxygen. That was twenty bucks for NOTHING. A couple weeks later I took my car to Vail Auto Repair and a guy named Rado said he'd have someone look at it right away. Twenty minutes later Rado came back into the office and told me his guy found a BOLT stuck in my tire. Less than 30 minutes after arriving at Vail Auto Repair I left with a repaired tire. That was twenty bucks well spent. I still can't figure out how a guy could put a tire in a tub of water and not see bubbles coming out of hole where a bolt was stuck in my tire. read more

Had a leaking power steering hose. They quoted reasonable and fixed the problem. Wouldn't let me leave because they noticed my ball bearings on my front tires were failing. Had them fix it. Fast forward, less than a year later, my front driver side ball bearing failed. Called them up and they explained there is no warranty on the work because they have no way of knowing if I drove aggressively and caused it to fail again so quickly. It's less than a year after service and maybe a couple thousand more miles. A different shop I'm getting it fixed again warranty their ball bearings for 2 years or 24,000 miles. The shop I'm getting it repaired said Action Jackson installed the new bearing incorrectly, did not fully tighten it, missing parts, and fully caused the failure. Our experience with Action Jackson demonstrates the owner is untrustworthy and unprofessional. We called him on his untrustworthiness, which resulted in his increasingly angry outburst toward us, including numerous F-bombs. Ten minutes after this horrible outburst, an employee, supposedly at the owner's request, called us to apologize for his "unacceptable behavior." While we always found his employees to be courteous and helpful, we cannot do business with an owner who treats customers in this manner. read more

The only good thing I have to say about this company is that at least they had a nice waiting room and nice staff. Called on the way to Action Jackson Auto and they said they could get me in for an oil change because there was no wait. It took three hours for an oil change. Not only did it take three hours when they stated it would only take 45 minutes max, but also it was $120 for synthetic oil... This is an extra $40 compared to other oil changing stores. After a terrible experience at another tire place across the road, we went to Action Jackson Auto and the owner greeted us, found us the pair of tires we needed, gave us a free oil change and helped us recycle our old tires all in one morning. It was super service, cheerful, helpful and fast. I so recommend this place. New ownership, apparently, although we hadn't been to the old one... Super lounge area, WiFi, and convenient location. My brakes were failing during a Fall trip to Vail from Arizona. So after reading reviews I drove my vehicle to Action Jackson in Edwards which- was nearby to Vail. The closest Honda dealer was over 60 miles away. Anyway, I agreed to a brake job next day including new rotors and ceramic brake pads. I did a test drive from the hotel on September 28 and was generally pleased with the brake performance. About 3 weeks later my son noticed that one of my lug nuts was missing. It was one of a set of 4 special locking-keyed lug nuts that came with the truck. So I contacted AJA by phone and asked them to look around for the special locking nut. In the mean time, I installed an original standard lug nut on my front right rim. After sending photos and details, the shop supervisor told me that they could not find the missing lug nut and a single one of the matching series was unavailable from the manufacturer. So he agreed to order a new set of 4 security lug nuts with the new key tool and ship the kit to me in Arizona. Fast forward 5 months, numerous phone calls to AJA and, when/if answered, hearing the same run around with another shop supervisor at Edwards, CO Action Jackson Auto. Similar promises including that "the kit had been received and then shipped to me. Nobody will provide the tracking number and nobody returns my calls. No owner-manager listed on the AJA website. The last thing that one wants to deal with when on vacation in beautiful mountains is car trouble. But, my low tire indicator sent me searching for help and, largely by chance, I found Action Jackson. They were terrific. Friendly efficient welcome and got my car in quickly. While I waited in an amply supplied lounge, they checked my tires, found the problem was with my sensors, not the tires, reprogrammed the sensors, and charged me nothing! I tried to pay them for their time and instead they simply wished me a wonderful vacation in and around Avon. I was super impressed top to bottom! read more

Very nice staff. Had the best of intentions to take care of my car. I have a reproduction of a vintage car requiring diagnostic equipment not used on vehicles which now utilize computers to diagnose and provide the necessary solutions. Unfortunately, they simply didn't have the knowledge, capacity and equipment necessary to diagnose and address the necessary adjustments to get my car running properly. I returned my car twice so they could "try to figure it out". In hindsight, my intuition was telling me this just wasn't going to turn out well, and it didn't. Going forward, I hope they realize their limitations and just tell prospective customers this kind of work is not in their wheelhouse and even recommend a shop which can take care of me. Worst mechanic I've ever had the misfortune to use. Lied and cheated. Didn't do the work he claimed to have done and charged 4x the amount he quoted for NOT doing the repairs! The mechanics locked the vehicle off-premises with the keys inside so we had to make a 500 mile trip to bring them a 2nd set of keys. After a month, they told us the repairs were done but when we got there we found out they hadn't done anything so had to wait another month to pick it up and after driving 100 miles discovered that they hadn't fixed any of the problems. My car's AC stopped working, so I thought I'd give these guys a try. I called and the guy on the phone was really nice. I told him all of the symptoms (I thought it was a blown AC compressor because of the smoke), but the guy said that he would have the guys diagnose it if I bought it in. But if they did the work, they would not charge me for the diagnosis. I brought it in and they took a look. After they told me that my AC needed to be recharged and the serpentine belt needed to be replaced (30,000 since the last time it was replaced - 60,000 miles before it was scheduled), they told me that my brakes were about to go out. First, I never asked for them to look at my brakes. Second, I don't think my brakes are near the AC unit. Third, I had just (the day before) had the oil changed where they customarily check the brakes and said I still had some life in them. However, because they were running a "COVID-19" special, they gave me a "deal" if I were to replace them, so I decided to move forward. So the AC "fix" and the new brakes came to a total of around $1750.00. When the job was close to being done, I received a call saying that they misdiagnosed the AC and it was in fact a blown AC compressor and that would be another $800. Out the door, I was charged almost $2,800.00. If they had diagnosed and fixed what I had asked them to fix, it would have been around $1,000.00. I probably needed to do my brakes in the future, and I would eventually have had to get a new belt, but I wasn't prepared to spend almost three grand at that time. Side note - I just had the brakes replaced on my wife's vehicle. Her car's brakes are more complicated and more expensive. It was $400 less at a different place, even with their COVID-19 deal. The guys I dealt with were all really nice, and they offered me a free oil change for the misdiagnosis, but I won't use it. I'm afraid that free oil change would cost me another grand. I wanted to like them and give them a chance, but I will not be going back. read more

This place is absolute garbage. As someone born and raised in this valley, I always will try to give my money to local businesses but this is an exception. I just needed to replace the headlights on my car and even bought in the correct parts to do so. They told me I had the wrong lights and that they needed to use different ones. The mechanic initially told us a 45 minute wait and it has been almost three full hours of waiting. Not to mention the price was over two hundred dollars. I don't do a lot of reviews but it was important to me that other people don't get swindled by these guys. We took my daughter's car in because of a problem with the rear air suspension. The first time they said it was fixed (only took a week), we arrived to pick it up and found the issue had NOT been resolved ($625). Action Jackson then quoted us $2,000-$3,000 to completely replace the system. I asked multiple times if there was other alternatives such as replacing the air system with something simpler and was told NO. After a little research on the internet I learned that this brand & model of vehicle has a history of air suspension failure which is well documented. For $275 in parts I was able to convert the air suspension to coil springs, myself with no previous experience. Furthermore the staff was very unprofessional and dropped "F bombs" in front of my daughter! read more

Important to note that the owner offered a discount on our final bill if we signed an NDA not to discuss our experience at his shop. Obviously, we declined.** We wanted really to like this place being as it is a local business. My finance and I originally brought our Jeep in to have snow tires put on it. We dropped it off on a Thursday and were told that it would be ready the next day. We also asked to have them run diagnostics on it as we believed something was off with the transmission. Fast forward to the following Tuesday afternoon, and the car is still not done (6 days). This is not for a lack of trying as we called the shop every day for an update as we have two children and both work full time and were struggling with having only one car. Aggravating, but we managed and understood it's a busy time of year. The car was finally ready to be picked up Wednesday morning and this is where it took a truly bizarre turn. The owner, Ross, had offered over the phone to do a transmission flush for the price of just the parts ($100) since we had waited so long for the car to be done. However, when we went to pick up the car, we were told the balance was almost $700. After some back and forth with the owner, he starts to become almost belligerent. He tells my finance to leave his shop, puts a boot on the car, and tells us that unless we pay the full balance we're not getting our car back. He called my finance an a**hole (on video), told us that he would bring the price down to $400 (on video) then once we got upset told us "forget it, now it's full price again" (also, on video), then stormed off and had one of his mechanics try to "mediate" with us since apparently Ross was "too emotional". We stayed relatively calm during this entire ordeal and the only one causing a scene was the owner. I will say, his mechanic, Patrick, was super helpful and nice. However, he told us Ross was too emotional to make a decision and he would call us at 2. We leave the car there, again, and my finance gets a call later from the shop. The owner offers $200 off the price if we will sign an NDA agreeing not to talk about our experience. HAHA, what?! Obviously, we paid full price after paying $1200 for the tires and vowed to let local residents know about our experience in hopes that it will keep you from being treated this way. I called and asked them how much to rotate my tires and they tell me it will be $160. I had to go in and get money back off of my girlfriends car because they ripped her off. I bought a couple sets of tires and have done tire swaps for the past two seasons with Ross and the team. They have been more than fair with pricing and going above and beyond to make me feel like a valued local customer with storage, oil changes etc. Staff is friendly, waiting room is comfortable and shop provides timely service. Not sure why they have so many poor reviews here on yelp in comparison to the hundreds of good reviews on google. The worst auto place I have ever visited. They "fixed" my coolant problem but my car then broke down after I left the shop and drove 5 miles. It got towed back there but I told them not to do any work until they gave me an estimate. Three days later they still hadn't given me an estimate because they were busy. When I then tried to move it to another shop they refused to release the car unless I paid them another $1000. They finally just released it, but they left it a complete mess, with parts sitting in the back seat. read more
