During the sale of my home I needed to have the septic tank cleaned and certified per the county of San Bernardino and apparently for escrow. I contacted Action pumping and they were able to clean out the tank, but my last tenant had flushed needles and excessive baby wipes which required my drains to be snaked. Action Pumping took care of this issue immediately. Later when the buyer requested we replace the toilets (they were original to the home over 15years old) I called Action Pumping and were able to schedule a plumber within 2 days to respond! This was a relief for me since we had to close within 6 days, and with the Covid all companies are extremely busy. The two plumbers that arrived, Jacob and Johnathon,were professional and Clean! The old toilets were pretty disgusting, but they made sure to clean the area and even took the old ones away. Highly recommend this company. read more

Action Pumping has been to two of my properties for septic servicing. They were unprepared and had neither the equipment nor the knowledge of the property to complete this task. They also failed to inform me of what was needed from me for them to do their jobs (e.g., exact location of the septic tanks). We Paid Action Pumping $525 ($100 for late night charge) to have our septic pumped on 2/6/21. Today, 3/12/21, barely a month past the pump date we have our septic checked for our realtor and the new company we called showed us, it was FULL! Action CLAIMS they pumped 1000 Gallons out of our 1000 gallon tank, with a dump receipt to prove, YET claims it wasn't able to be pumped due to grease and baby wipes?!? How does that make any sense?!? They are completely lying, our tank is still completely full! Stay away from this conpany, they are doing NOTHING to help. The owner Jason has not tried to contact us and his worker Robin in straight up rude to deal with! The FTC and BBB will be notified and this will be taken to court if nothing is done! We aren't looking for a refund, we just want the job done that we paid for! If not, then a refund is DUE! I highly suggest to anyone who has used them, check your tank! I bet it wasn't fully pumped like you paid for! WATCH THEM AS THEY WORK!! Lesson learned! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. My septic tank issues started two days before a planned road trip. Action responded immediately. The first challenge was locating the septic tank. I live in Morongo and let's just say that the idiots (a not-to-be named chain) who mapped where my septic is located were not accurate. Action sent a camera guy and a plumber to come and locate the septic, and they did! Since I was leaving town, the plumber were patched up a troublesome pipe for a temporary fix, and when I returned from my travels, Action promptly sent out a crew to finish the job. Okay - every single man that came to my property was courteous, hard-working, diligent and interactive in the sense they kept me in the loop as to what they were doing. These guys all had to deal with the insane heavy rocks that were located on and near the septic. Everyone whom I dealt with at Action was super professional and courteous. I hope they never change. Pseudo reoccurring plumbing problem of roots clogging the path to our septic. My husband, convinced that he was going to find a slipped collar or some sort of infiltration of roots leading from the house pipe into our septic system began his digging project. Much like Gilligan's island this started off to be a "three hour tour" when in reality he was stranded digging for 9 hours searching for the septic system. Even with maps and knowledge of where the tank was the project was long and arduous. Fast forward to day two, main pipe found!!! But no roots or any indication of root infiltration to repair. After a beer and sandwich we realized we need to call a professional to either a) snake the line or b) empty the septic. We called Action Pumping as their service has both snaking and pumping options. The very nice lady who answered the phone for my husband was able to quote their services and set up for a truck right away. The only delay was travel-time from Yucca Valley. Team of two arrived, we later find out that this is 4th & 5th generation Action Pumping family and owners of the company. What a delight. Took the father/son team about 20 minutes to dig out the lid to the septic and pulled the lid. After some discussion they snaked the line to clear the roots. The tank wasn't full but it has been many years since it's last pumping so we had them pump for good measure. Professional observation of good leach lines, tank looking good and out-flow all in order was conforting to know. In less than 1.5 hours our service request was fulfilled! Father/Son were both extremely professional, fast and very personable. As an owner of several homes in the 29 Palms/Joshua Tree area I wouldn't consider calling anyone else for my septic needs. Plus, I believe they do other aspects as well including pipe replacement and plumbing issues. Extremely courteous and reasonable pricing has kept great-granddads business going and thriving. I had the misfortune of having to replace a septic tank buried under a concrete sidewalk, joys of buying at auction. Action Pumping found the decrepit tank, and gave me a quote on par with others but with a tank material better suited to my terrain. They had a friendly and professional team, from the pumping to the excavation. They managed to leave my property as they found it, no small feat as they had to back fill under a poorly supported (and newly painted) wall. The online estimates and payments were an added bonus. Overall they made it as painless as possible and I felt like I was dealing with well qualified people. Definitely recommend them. read more

Got up, dressed and waited for JT, the plumber who was scheduled to arrive at 9 AM. He never showed. Their excuse - my phone wasn't accepting calls and they always call before they come. Sigh... Only problem with that is that it was a lie. My phone had received several calls and texts during that time and there was no record on my i-phone of them trying to contact me. Meanwhile, I lost an hour and a half of my life waiting. They sent JT on another job. Maybe his skills are great. I'll never know. And I won't be contacting them again. Very disappointing! read more

If you must use Action Pumping, I recommend that you at least do the following: If you are offered the option of making payments--as I was--take it. Otherwise, if you pay in full--as I did--you have no recourse if something goes wrong. Prior to a new water line being installed, I asked in an email if it would in anyway harm my irrigation system. I was told "no." Yet, afterwards, my irrigation system hardly worked at all. Document the status of everything that Action Pumping may touch prior to it beginning its work. Otherwise, you may be accused of lying, as I was by co-owner Jason Mahaffey, who said he had no way of knowing if my irrigation system worked prior to the installation of the new water line. Get a firm bid. I was told it would cost $8,500 to install the new water line. But, after my yard was filled with ditches, on the third day, I was told it would cost more because Action Pumping didn't realize I had such an "extensive irrigation system." When I was presented with my bill at the end of the work, I was charged $11,500 for the new water line. I was also charged more than I was initially told for two new water heaters. Set aside plenty of time for the work to be completed. My yard had ditches through it for more than two weeks, part of that was due to waiting for the new gas line materials to arrive, but also part of it was due to management pulling people off my job to send them elsewhere. I sensed the frustration of the employees on site at this happening. Initially, Action Pumping seemed willing to try to address the issues with my irrigation system and installed five new valves to my 18-valve system. The problem was that everyone of the replacements leaked so profusely that I had to turn off the water to them. As it turned out, one of them was also put on backwards, which meant that when it was supposed to be "off, it was really "on." I only discovered that days later when I found water flowing where it shouldn't have been, causing my water bill to be more than three times what it ordinarily is. I asked Action Pumping to remedy the problems with the new valves. Jason Mahaffey declined to do so in an email. When I called him to talk to him about it, during our five-minute conversation, in addition to implying that I was lying about the status of my irrigation system preceding the installation of the water line; he also told me that for me to blame him for the irrigation problems was like someone buying gas for their car and then running over a bolt and getting a flat tire and expecting the gas station to pay for it. Since, I know that gasoline has nothing to do with flat tire, I didn't understand that analogy. But before I could question him about it, he told me never to contact Action Pumping again about this issue, but rather to call its lawyer and then hung up on me. Only after two weeks of continually working on my irrigation system and many calls to Orbit Irrigation Products (the company that made the valves) and trips to the hardware store, am I close to getting my irrigation system back in order. It's too bad that Action Pumping management cares so little about customer satisfaction, especially since its employees are hard-working, capable and responsive. read more

So this used to be a top notch company but as with lots of companies, once the ownership shifts to the kids, something is lost. I own more than a few rental properties in the area and I have never been more appalled with a vendor that was hired by our property manager. There were two occasions they did work without a work order and one of my properties required a new septic system - the proposal I got actually wanted to charge $150 additionally as sort of "an insurance" to repair anything they damage during the installation because it actually read that they aren't responsible if the damage something during installation. I'm pretty sure that's not legal and what a shady way to deal with people. I ended up saving close to 2000 with another local contractor who didn't exclude repairing anything they damaged. The employees we have dealt with in the past were great but a lot have quit their job there. A plumber who used to be employed there but quit and that had done lots of work at my properties said that a lot of people have quit because of the owner, Jason, having anger issues, flying off the handle and throwing stuff around at the employees and being unprofessional with clients who pay them thousands of dollars. On behalf of People like me. I was absolutely disturbed After my property managers told me the last scenario and interaction with this company, I told them not to have them out on ANY of my properties EVER again. Yucca Valley is a small community and I can't imagine too many people accepting this sort of service for their own homes or rental properties. It's really no wonder their guys do side jobs or quit I already found another pumping company for my rentals and my property managers have told me they aren't going to use them again. I've also told my neighbors and friends about this. A few people I spoke to said they weren't surprised because they've heard some stories. If you want to give your hard earned money to a company who isn't going to deal with you in an appalling, shady manner after you have paid them thousands in pumping costs, I'd steer clear of Action Pumping. . read more

I hired Action to install a new septic system for my new house. After the county inspection was done, Action came back. They came back to fill my new septic system with filth they had pumped out from someone else's old septic system. Fortunately, for me, they did this when Lanik construction was at my property. Lanik workers said the stench was unbearable. They told me. They knew this was entirely illegal. I was furious. I insisted Action pump out the filth they put in my septic. The Action worker said they always filled clean septics with old filth because they did not want to pay the dump fees at the state licensed dump. I do not know if they pumped everything out. Action did not mark where the tank's opening was and refused to tell me where it was. A few days later I was at Ultimate motors where I met another woman who had hired Action to replace her septic tank. She told me she could not figure out why there was a heavy stench surrounding her property. She was as shocked about Action's practices as I was. A week after we met she told me she also insisted that Action pump out her tank. She thanked me for helping her get the stench removed. read more

Zero stars if possible. My wife and I just purchased a home in twentynine palms, the previous owners contracted action pumping to install a new concrete tank two days prior to us moving in. The day before they came to install, I was going through the house with my inspector and we tried the sprinkler system in the front yard and it was working perfectly. When we moved in we turned on the sprinklers to water the plants and the water shot out from the ground about 3 feet past the spicket. The next thing we noticed was when the wind blew, a 4x4 fence post fell over and you could trace the tire marks from they're tractor directly to it. When I called to tell them about the damage. The manager told me that according to the contract they aren't liable for any damages caused by them. The fence was weathered so replacing a single post is out of the question. The manager called me back ten minutes later to tell me that his foreman on site had seen the sprinkler line but made sure not to hit it, he then proceeded to tell me that the ground is very rocky and it was not they're fault but regardless they were not liable. What that tells me is that they have a history of this and it goes to show that they are a horrible company looking to take money without taking care of other people's property. I am in charge of contracting jobs such as this for our unit and I just want you to know action pumping that not only will you not get a dime from my company, but I'm spreading the word and none of my adjacent companies will use you either. i was very unimpressed with this service as it took them 29 minutes to find the tank in my driveway then said it was cracked without testing it. then it took them several minutes to uncover another tank, then didn't take the time to find the lid , while answering his phone several times acting like he was in a hurry to leave. and left a 6 by 5 ft hole in my yard for someone to fall into. ?When i called to complain they put me on hold for 10 minutes , then said as I was explaining my concerns with there poor service and a hole in my yard, the woman said I was being rude . I said , It was rude of your people to leave a hole in my yard and not do their job and drive away with 240.00 after an hours work. read more
